I was at the show. Was an amazing day, as a Sheffield boy myself, seeing Leppard for the first time. I couldn’t believe they pulled this track out, it’s one of my favourites, I love their heavier stuff. Me and my mates were going nuts!

Why is Rick Allen a damn legend? Remember this, he played a song where he use to have all 4 limbs and it sounded amazing then and here he has only 3 LIMBS and he (in my opinion) was able to not only play exactly like he was able to with only 3 limbs BUT he made it sound BETTER. That is why Rick is a LEGEND!

I think you may be off on your dates. He was in his car crash on December 31, 1984. Then his first official gig back with the band was Donington in August 16, 1986.

Was at this gig, Terrorvision, Ugly Kid Joe and Thunder supported. Leppard were absolutely incendiary that night !! And was it ever hot !? They ran out of beer !! Crowd were totally off the wall too !! Good times !!!

FAVE since 1983. “Photograph” did it - but then I started going back further to earlier albums. That was it - I was hooked. 😝🤘🎸 They NEVER, EVER disappoint!! They are one of the greatest rock bands ever. Saw the Hysteria tour and the 2018 tour. Would do it a million times more if I could.

But look, def Leppard were filling stadiums even in 1993. A lot of of those hard rock bands went down in popularity at the same time as grunge. I'm always ecstatic to see and hear the band doing the old classics, but my only complaint is that Phil and Vivian always do everything they can to totally desecrate any solo that Steve and Pete did. I'm all for shred guitar, but I'm not for totally changing what was done on record. Sometimes substance is better than flash. Steve and Pete's solo's were full of substance and that is one of the most important reasons that High N' Dry is such a good record in the first place. Why mess with success ???

I gotta disagree on that. I never noticed Phil really changing any solos much from how they were recorded. At least he doesn't do it very often, especially now a days. Now Viv on the other hand does like to mess around with the solos a bit, but I have really only ever noticed it when he is playing solos that he recorded. Viv usually tries to stick pretty much to note for note on Steve's solos out of respect for Steve. I know he has said on Armageddon It that he won't mess with what is already a perfect solo by Steve. Either way sometimes guitarist do like to mess around with solos at live shows.

cheapseats12 Well, brother, no disrespect at all, but if you can't hear on this very video, that the solo has been changed DRASTICALLY, then your ear for music can't be very good at all. These two guitarists are much more technically proficient players than Steve and Pete were, and they like to show it at the live shows by " shredding " up all the old solo's. Truly LISTEN to the old and then listen to this and you will see what I'm talking about.

500erider Well like I said I particularly don't hear it much these days. I think when they were younger yet they took more liberties at live shows as just part of the energy. I do hear it here, but I'm just saying its not something I hear often, particularly from Phil. They played this during Viva Hysteria and it sounded pretty close to the original by both of them. You can understand though if they didn't write them to want to have a little fun with them at shows.
