Andy - love your videos. I am now of the mindset that modeling is 99.9% of what a tube amp gives you. I’ve taken modelers on gigs and done direct into the mix, and the sound guy is like “dude you sound sick.” Especially small gigs in tiny bars and clubs - I can’t wheel my half stack in there. Also, if you are interested, I know some good folks with Lime Kiln Theater just up 81 in Lexington Virginia. Great, intimate venue and would love to get you on the bill for next summer. Only downside is four buttons, but if you can control it with extra buttons in a MIDI controller, I.e. patch/scene changes etc then it's a winner!

I have an epic pedalboard which also features Golden Reverb, Trio+, The Dude, The SRV inspired Duelist, Boss DD500 Delay, Neunaber Immerse, Boss Dimension-C/Waza Craft DC-2W, Diamond Compressor/EQ, and much more. I even owned a Fractal FM9. So you are suggesting there is a good value for the average consumer/home player to spend nearly a grand, after tax and shipping on this thing? 4 effects? Surely you are joking. We are not all fancy, affluent musicians like yourself. I speak for the average home player. You speak more like, the elite. A bit of a snob. Let me ask you Andy- did Fractal give you anything to plug this thing? Be honest- we can find out. Your credibility is on the line son.
@andywoodmusicКүн бұрын
@@MOAB-UT I enjoy the constant use of “son” seems I’ve hit a nerve. 1- I said what I said because the big 3 strymon pedals is around $1300. That’s still just 3 choices of effects at a time. VP4 gives more simultaneous (4) for cheaper, and the effect quality is on par, all while being smaller than any given 4 pedals on the market. The price point for what it does is in no away even close to an “insult”, that’s a melodramatic comment and one I wanted to address. 2- chill out, don’t be so offended. 3- it’s no secret I’ve worked with fractal for years, dating back to 2014 with the Stapp proof of life tour. This little pedal is something I’ve wanted them to do for a very long time, and was honored they asked me to do some factory presets for it. Obviously you can put 2 and 2 together. I’m not some maniacal ego driven asshole that you so desperately want to paint me into, and clearly I love cliff and matt and the fractal team. I enjoy working with them, I enjoy gear, tone and creating things that help the gigging musician solve issues. Go back and read #2 again.
@MOAB-UTКүн бұрын
@@andywoodmusic Ok- at least you admit it. YOU ARE BOUGHT AND PAID by FRACTAL. Got it. Very clear now. For folks like you, dropping nearly a grand for four (4) effects is no big deal. For the average Joe, they would be far better served grabbing a slightly used FM3 for around the same price. It would provide them with far more capability including amps. Understand this- I like and appreciate Fractal gear. I was really hoping they would up their game with their next hardware release. This was very disappointing to me. They did nothing to improve the dated UI and four effects is a tease. It reminds me of how they watered down (CPU) the FM3 so people would have to upgrade or buy additional pedals- the whole OMG thing. OMG that is annoying. Their clear goal is to keep the consumer coming back and buying more. Yes, you hit a nerve when you replied back insulting me right out of the gate, assuming I don't have or know anything about those common pedals. I have been playing longer than you- son. I am not on anyone's payroll so I can speak the truth. If Line6 was paying your rent, I know people like you would be shouting from the rooftops how great their products are even if in private you hate them. I think that is called selling out but hey, you do you.

QC is great and fun but doesn’t top my FM9 Turbo. Love playing with the captures but it’s a backup to my FM9 which has way more configurability and performance options. If you are a metal player and use 3 sounds, maybe QC in that scenario is equal. And yes I’d rather have a QC than an FM3 but the FM9 and AxeFx 3 is way more powerful.
