Music video for Ane Brun - Words, taken from the album "It All Starts With One".
The video for "Words" is the prologue from a short film based to music from Ane Brun's album "It all starts with One", the film that houses no fewer than four orchestrated songs will be premiered in 2012.
The Director for the whole project, Ane's long-standing video director Magnus Renfors, says of the venture:
"Ane's music is like a great ocean housed under the roof of a great old theater, where pictures are hung from the threads of the music shooting out, so it really does the job itself. That said, the images require a certain height at a substantively dramatic level, otherwise the music, sometimes so sublime and skin tingling, can rush over the head of the visual aspects. Ane and I have done stuff together since 2003 and already on the last album we talked about doing something bigger, more coherent, and this time it was really the one. "
"ONE", as the film is called, is a poetic tapestry incorporating various threads interwoven on several levels, integrating and complimenting Ane's delicately composed branches between hope, rage and grief.
A heavy period of post-production is now rolling with the other chapters before the film is fully released in the fall.
The film is produced by Hobby Film Stockholm in cooperation with, among others, Riviera Post Production and Ljud & Bildmedia, with the theatre giant Ivar Wiklander appearing as the main character.

Last year, my mother told me she was terminally ill with cancer. I cried so much ! And I discovered this poetry at the same moment. This is the last song I asked her to discover. She loved words so much! She left on September 17. Since then I put love everywhere ! Thank you Ane for those magnicient words, they still make me cry but my tears are softer now. This song reminds me of Roy, my youngest brother who was a gifted musician....he played Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata in B flat in it’s entirety for his first piano recital at the age of 5, and was one the dearest souls on the planet, but suffered for 10 long years with the dreaded Alzheimer’s disease... At the onset of our family realizing that something was drastically wrong with our brother, and as we all were trying to closely monitor his behaviors, but upon seeing Roy’s apartment for the first time in a while, my youngest sister, Vivian described it much like the room in this video bcuz there were post it’s all over his walls, among other frightening things! She told me when she happened to call him one day to check up on him, and it took close to an hour for her to ascertain why he was in excruciating pain?! It was bcuz he was hungry, but didn’t know what “hungry” meant, and after Viv told him what was wrong, it took a long time for Roy to comprehend what to do about it?! 😥 That was 10 years ago, and Roy finally lost his battle to the mind debilitating disease this past New Years Day at 1:30 am...Viv traveled to the private facility (a lovely couple’s home & staff) who cared for him for the past 6 years of his life so one of us could be by Roy’s side at the end... Viv said it was the most peaceful passing she’d ever witnessed...one minute he was breathing, and the next second, he wasn’t...💔 The movie “A Beautiful Mind” also brings to mind our beloved brother, our Roy! 💫💓🕊

I felt that really deep. Saw myself in there and was in awe of her. I wish I could let her go, though. I feel like I’m bound to prison that shes hidden the key away in her silence. If she was only an obsession, just an addiction, then how come my hurt pride won’t set me free? How come I don’t obsess for what’s better for me? How come I act like I don’t care, but she’s who I see in my thousand mile stare. Feels more like a thousand year stare, because I’ve looked for her for so long. And even though I try to convince myself otherwise, it doesn’t feel wrong. How come I feel her tugging at my heart like she’s overlooking me. Like she’s the moon on a star filled night, watching over the sea. I try to bleed her out, to let go of the pressure. But the more and more I do, only more it makes me miss her. Yet I can’t stop writing her whether it’s addressed to her or a stranger. It makes me feel like a mess, a liability, and a danger.

This is a masterpiece! Beauty’s in the eyes of the beholder, so the interpretation of this poignantly beautiful song, “Words” is undoubtedly many things! My view is that if a person becomes clinically depressed, their depression can manifest and evolve into insanity, and its possible that that’s what has happened with this woman! Her depression was brought on by the death of someone very near and dear to her leaving her alone for the first time in her life, but as she’s not mentally equipped to cope with her loneliness and her loss, she slips away into a world of her own imaginations becoming clinically insane causing her to be incapable of finding her way back to normalcy, that is, if she’s left alone! At this stage, she thinks she exists to somehow connect with the ppl outside the walls, but she’s deeply saddened that she’s able to see only their shadows but can’t actually interact with the happy ppl dancing, so she feverishly types her thoughts thinking about those ppl in the hope that once she’s finishes expressing her thoughts that she’ll be able to heal herself of the loneliness, but for the time being, it’s satisfying just being able to see the evidence of their presence.....so she lays her head on the pillow, relaxes, and falls asleep with the satisfaction of thinking she’ll be dancing with them soon, and all will be well, soon......☮️💔💙🕊
