@@KeepOnTesting Agreed. In the US you could probably work even on your normal residential AC with it, as you have most likely not more than 240V AC there. Here in Europe three phases with 400V between them and 230V between phase and neutral is standard. 5x20mm fuses are only rated at 250V. Problem is, 100 times a second you have up to 325V: 50 times positive and 50 times negative, as we have 50Hz net frequency and a phase angle of 120° compared to the 60Hz 180° in the US. For electronic projects below 100V I deem this meter good to use. But the temptation to grab it for a repair of a device that is mains connected will always be there. You only have to be the unfortunate user who experiences arcing within this thing and it disintegrates in your hand. A 6x32mm or better a 10x38mm fuse is still a better choice to build in. And the CAT ratings are a good indicator of safety as well. I don't use anything below CAT 3. But even that is questionable, if there is a 5x20mm fuse inside, so I always look for that as a sign of safety and build quality.
@KeepOnTesting3 жыл бұрын
@@wiedapp Great info..!👍 Thx for the European mains update.. As always, use extreme caution and don't forget to be safe first and foremost around any voltage over 100v. European regulations are stricter than North American standards and for good reason. 🙄 I do believe the Aneng is fine for standard household repairs. Bigger fuses, MOVs and PTCs are always better but as you're probably aware, in the CHEAP-O Realm..there's usually not much in the way of upgrades in the input protection department.

Yet it looks like they didn’t know how to utilize all that space properly. Not to mention that it’s a cheap display with bad viewing angles.
