Hi Tony. I too had this gun a few years ago and did not like it. The reason we like it now in my opinion was the introduction of the HD tips ( high delivery) it brought the fluid output closer to the usual guns we paint with. I have the 1.4hd version and it's my favourite gun. Thanks for the review

Great video. I been wanting a Supernova for quite some time now. I have two Iwata lph 400s. Ones for base the other is for clear. I love how I can get the clear to lay like glass with my lph 400. As of now Im out of the bodyshop and working at a commercial Fab shop. So we are using Imron Axalta single stage, and I been using my Sata 5000 hvlp 1.5 to spray with. I been spraying with it since July of this year. It took awhile for me to get use to so now I'm liking it but I sure do miss spray with my Iwata's.

@TonysRefinishingTV6 жыл бұрын
the sagola i have myself and its a hose but i find it applies a more chunky looking peel to a car i can get the same with this by just dropping the pressure a tad and upping the fluid, yes it will be a tad slower but i prefer that control when doing factory finishes it means i have that little more time to nail the perfect peel

@@TonysRefinishingTV That is what I was thinking. So hear is my next question. I have a cheap gun but don't know what the nozzle size is. A friend gave it to me. There is no model or brand on the thing. I have tried spraying 2k thru it but the flow isn't great comes out kind of thick. Im guessing its a .8mm or 1.0mm. I thought I would reduce it a little and try to spray. It's one of the smaller looking guns. I've taken it apart and looked everywhere but no markings. I don't know anything about this stuff so I thought I would ask if I should even bother with this gun or just order a good cheap one. If so any suggestions? Oh and love your videos. Part of the reason I started playing around with painting stuff. :)

personally on smaller tip guns i would always think it more they cant push the paint out like the larger guns do in any way, personally also if your unsure about the gun id just order a cheap touch up gun or something then atleast you know what your using , unless your doing this work day in day out like people like myself then one of those should do the trick for you and there cheap to pick up, although not great quality they can put out a decent finish when you get used to them
