Why didn't she sing this well when they recorded Dark Passion Play? When she finally fit her voice on NW's songs Tuomas fired her. She has a good voice, I admit. But I didn't like her on NW. Floor is doing a great job now. But my heart will always belong to Tarja. She was unique! Love her!

Ana Tenório she sounded good in studuo but the tour schedule was too tight for her. She had stress sickness and stuff, its not easy to just jump in tarjas shoes and sing in front of thousands of people almost daily for a year or two, imaginaerum tour went better for her because the schedule was better and she actually had time to learn the songs and take care of herself and rest

@@survivorbest4589 Didn't Tarja refuse to tour North America and therefore had less of a schedule. Think Anette's 1st tour was over 150 venues which is a lot. Tuomas said they would never do that again as it was too much and performances dropped due to tiredness/fatigue and Anette's voice obviously suffered with that schedule

I'm not trying to diss Annette or anything. She has a really pretty voice. However when she sings this song There is absolutely no emotion there. When I heard floors performance I was blown away because of all of the emotion she put into the song and because of her awesome voice! All hail the almighty FLOOR!

That Floor is an impostor misusing my terms/names (the opposite of almighty -- I am THE almighty being who's above all and the opposite of womyn) and her harsh and low voice is mediocre at best, while Anette has one of the highest voices in the world which also has a bright and light tone and she was picked for her voice (which matches mine the most) and this is why the agency made sure NW would choose her the 2nd time they tried as she had to be the one singing the very important songs Eva and Cadence Of Her Last Breath which are about me and they taught her the right belting technique while teaching most singers the wrong techniques. But they should have recorded all NW albums with Anette's voice, to be honest. This version of Romanticide is the best version I've heard on YT so far.

There's also no emotion in her harsh voice, while Anette's voice sounds naturally emotional and pleasant to the ears. Also, edit out the big term almighty as putting an avrg citizen on an undeserved pedestal where only I belong by misusing my terms is beyond criminal and soon to be banned. All impostors and those misusing big terms are to be banned soon, as the system is about to be replaced.

I respectfully disagree, I think she just passes another kind of emotion. Tarja used to pass a classical and more "calm" feeling in this song, and Anette has a non lyrical voice, so she passes a more "powerfull" feeling, but I think that's just a matter of opinion xD

I like both Tarja and Olzon, but i dont like last one, who is actual now, if im not wrong, after Olzon I dont listen Nightwish anymore, because cant listen their new female vocal. So, Olzon is good as Tarja was. Yes, they are different , but they made Nightwish for me

Every other older song works ok with any of the three voices imho, though Floor is obviously much better of a live singer. I am not sure if Anette ever worked with a vocal coach to help with the stress on her voice but she really should have, because the potential for her to sound just as good live was always there.

@@1welshdevil yep, people blame Anette when it was Toumas who wanted to change the direction of the band to appeal to a wider audience - pity he was too weak to admit it at the time if he ever did. Personally, I would never have listened to Nightwish with an opera/classical singer - just don't like it myself. Here is an interview with him when Floor was the singer. The change in Nightwish through Anette has made many fans wonder about the band but Tuomas ensures that the opera stuff were long gone even before that. "When the original idea of Nightwish was to make nice campfire-music, one could say that the idea already changed 10 years ago. We also dropped the opera vocals before Century Child-album. People are complaining now that we have left out the opera vocals but in my opinion, we left them already 5 years ago." Tuomas also thinks that a band should never be a prisoner for any specific format. "This was the music that everyone in the band wanted and one must follow the heart. Otherwise you start selling out. Nightwish is not a style or genre. It is a vision of 5 musicians and their view how to make music. Selfish? You bet. True? Damn straight!" Retrospectively, considering the fact that she had no lyrical singing capabilities, do you still think Anette was the right choice for Nightwish at the time? Yes, I do. I’ve said this many times. When I listen to Dark Passion Play and Imaginaerum, I don’t think there is another person who could have sung those songs better than her. I really, honestly think so, and the rest of the band does, as well. That was not the issue.(Interview when Annette had left and Floor was singer). “What was the nadir of the first tour with Anette?” “When Anette’s voice went away. But there were other issues, difficulty of logistics and problems with some members of the staff. It was truly a long and exhausting tour. I rick saying that we quite pushed it too far. We will not go on such a gigantic tour like this with the new album. It has no point to nearly kill ourselves.” Tuomas Holopainen: We took a formal vote, but it was unanimous that she would be the one. It was a matter of heart. We felt she would be the right one, and everybody agreed. About Heavy Metal: Were you looking for someone with a different vocal style than Tarja, or is that just how it turned out? Tuomas Holopainen: We absolutely wanted to have something different. That was our only criteria. We didn't build a profile of what the new singer should sound like, what she should look like, or where she should be from. We just trusted the right one would be out there. The only thing we knew for sure was we did NOT want another classically trained operatic singer in the band. We thought it was time to move on and not find a copycat. The hard task was to find someone who had the same power and passion and emotion in her voice, but still sounded different. I personally think we hit the jackpot with Anette because her voice is really strong, but she can also do some wonderful interpretations. She has a lot of variety in her voice. She has a storyteller's voice and doesn't sound like Tarja at all.
