How is Connor annoying? He just had a screwed up childhood. He's a teenager. I think he's funny. And for some strange reason, I developed a major crush on him within seconds of seeing him, which doesn't happen very often. Ah well. This is a very funny scene, though I also love when Angel becomes a puppet. Damn funny, that.

I think the issue is that there wasn't that much done to let him grow as a character until season five

Fred had her life ruined by being trapped in a hell dimension for 5 years, went totally nuts, and was one of the best characters of the show. Connor had all the great challenge a good character. But he was never likeable nor relatable. It's a big shame.

I didn't like him in Season 4 honestly. I do get he had a horrible life, but after a certain point, his behavior got annoying as he never grew past his 'I hate daddy' phase. But Season 5 redeemed him for me and I did like him in 'After the Fall' so I don't hate him really. I like him.

i kinda just pitied him, he was only as emotionally fucked as he was because every adult around him kept manipulating him, and in s5 he was a cool character because he actually had a stable upbringing and a chance to become who he was gonna be if not for the constant trauma

Also, a scene just after, when he let's the dude he has to kill out of the jar, the man/thing says "In return for releasing me, I grant you three wishes", and Connor says "Really?" sounding genuinely excited. That's a pretty funny episode...with Spike getting his ass handed to him the entire time.

I love that the moment you *KNOW* that She is really *irredeemably* Evil and False is in The Magic Bullet Bookshop when She tells the owner that it was a Lone Gunman - because that *clearly* is not True. It's just - conveniently - *exactly* the thing he needed to hear in order to Rock His World and gain his his immediate, instantaneous, Total Surrender+Complete Submission to Her Will : *"You're Wrong - Your Whole Life is a Lie and The Entire Thing Has Been a Complete Waste Amounting to Absolutely Nothing"* And the *very* next thing he does after hearing that is to try to kill himself - alright, he may be *happy* about it. But he's bound under Her enchantment, so he *has* to be happy. All The Time. Even in despair. So he immediately decides to kill himself - to *make* it be True, in order to appease Animus. I do love The Goddess - but She *will* lie to you... She's not like Men - She's occasionally just out of Her *damn MIND*, and has no idea *what* the F She is telling you, sometimes. That's just Her nature. You just have to accept that about Her, and don't hold Her to the same standard you hold yourself to. *Tell The Truth* *Tell The Truth* ....or, if you can't quite seem to manage that, then at least, *Don't Lie* .
