Angel City (1980) TV movie with Jennifer Jason Leigh - full movie

Very good television movie about the exploitation of migrant workers in US farm camps. What it lacks in subtlety it makes up in the truth of the situations it depicts. Features strong performances by Paul Winfield and Mr. Walton himself, Ralph Waite. Jennifer Jason Leigh portrays the type of character she would play for the next several films and TV appearances - a shy, withdrawn girl who undergoes traumatic events but emerges as a survivor. Her acting has progressed notably from her previous TV movie, The Young Runaways.
This channel is a tribute to my favorite actress Jennifer Jason Leigh. None of the videos on this channel are commercially available. If any become available (and I hope they do) I will remove them immediately.
All Jennifer Jason Leigh, all the time on jjlchannel & jjlchannel2.

Excellent movie - I LOVED it! Many lessons can be taken from this.... Don't give your power away, and if it's taken from you, you must take it back. You have much to lose if you do - your freedom and your rights. A cautionary tale that is very relevant, even (especially) in our current time and place.

@Barbaraboix-id5zf we are taught from the word of God to have no graven images...the picture you are talking about is a graven image and should never be permitted into homes or churches...Jesus was not a fair haired blue eyed man, He was a Jew, more than likely a curly dark haired, dark complexion man who is a gift to Mary and the world from God. I don't take people for their word, I take the word of God from the Bible and the holy spirit that leads me and keeps me close to my heavenly Father. From the beginning of time til the end, there will be people who don't believe, there will be people who will be consumed by demons, their will be fornicators, murderers, thieves and adulterers, all because they don't believe in morals, standards and our moral code...The Ten Commandments. We, the children of God must never stop praying for the lost souls in the world.

@BarbaraBoix-id5zf The Statue of Mary is symbol of the ONLY human & woman worthy to have carried our Saviour Yeshua, our Beloved Heavenly Padre's Begotten Son. Whomever you think our Yeshua, Christ was painted by, matters not. For what matters is the truth of HIS existence, not lies perpetuated by those in denial to believe in something pure, good & wonderful. Mankind has twisted so much regarding our faith. The Bible I admit is very complex, however it works nevertheless. What I don't understand, I'm fine with, for I know with time, Padre God shall reveal it to me. This life we live makes less sense nowadays. The blatant Lawlessness, criminals allowed to rob businesses, ppl preferring to be homeless, our Veterans living in the streets & so much more. Yes, there is much beauty to still enjoy & live. Life is what we make of it, & yet one cannot ignore that we those decent simpler times are no more. Thats where our Saviour, the Trinity comes in to help us until our time comes to go home. Peace be with us all 🙏. "Isa"

Trivia- 'The man who wrote the book on which Angel City was based - Patrick Smith - was the PR director at a community college in Florida, and I worked for him for a year. To research the story, Pat went undercover in a camp and lived in the horrible conditions for himself, so he could tell the real story. It's been so long since I've read the book and seen the movie, I don't remember how they compare, but Pat's book was based on things he really experienced, and I believe the movie was fairly true to that. People who feel the movie wasn't realistic might want to reconsider, or do some research for themselves.' morgan-615

Well none of the movies looked like the one I saw so I then when back to bing and typed in (Ralph Waite takes) and when I had written the word takes the search engine popped up Angel City... shakia williams ... can't say I loved Angel City but, I agree- it 'does' show that we all need to stick together, as Americans, no matter race, religion, or how well off we are. We should ALL be learning about politics AND what political candidates STAND FOR- THEN VOTE TO BETTER THIS COUNTRY ! That is the best way we can do it. Like how many ppl know what Nancy Pelosi really stands for? Like, did you know that she just said that the House of Congress is the SUPERIOR branch of gov't? That they make the laws & the president can only enact them? Not so! The House & the president are equal branches & the president has the executive power to make certain laws on his own. Like changing welfare laws, food stamp laws, (which have both come up recently) & certain other laws.... when our congressmen don't even know that we are in trouble! Big trouble! WE will never have a better country 'til we vote those kind out! And did you know that Pelosi, & even Hillary & Obama wanted a border wall until Trump got elected? Now they want him impeached because he's doing something about it. And they SUE him to try to stop him! VOTE FOR PPL WHO WILL DO THE RIGHT THING BY US! KNOW WHAT THEY REALLY STAND FOR!

I was there during the filming. It was done out in the everglades, my friend was a working the movie. I went out there one day on my 56 Harley Panhead with 2" shorty drag pipes. It was so loud they had to stop until I pulled in and shut my bike off.

OMG that was SUCH A GREAT MOVIE!!!! thank you so much or uploading it!! This is such a great gift! I loved it! So moving, so simple, without ever being cheesy. Just a perfect efficient scenario with all the ingredients to drama, the songs, aww, the atmosphere... I had come here for Jennifer Jason Leigh (I might her biggest French fan, what do I know...), and I stayed for Angel City!

Yes why didn't all those exploited worker's stand up against that all powerful employer ? Must be because they weren't members of the harvest workers UNION ! Unfortunately most of these shit jobs don't like employing people who join unions , they prefer to exploit their workers and demonize unions as being " commie" organisations THIS is the result !

this movie was made on the Nine Mile camp, an old lady named Miss Odessa used to run that camp I used to work in those same fields as a young boy but, we never lived there, the way they looked in the movie is the same way they looked in real life. the brothers and sisters got all dressed up but when the director pulled up he gave them some rags to put on and told them that they had to put mud on their faces, we found this out because someone told my stepfather who was a Farm contractor at the time who took people out on that farm to work. but in real life that was a crucial camp on the real.

That truckstop where he got gas in the beginning- I've been there. Before the Interstates were put in, we used to go west to the Glades and then north on the turnpike to go anywhere. We'd always stop there for gas. Seems like only yesterday.. They still had black & white water fountains.

..., yes, it sure does and it is a true shame!!! This movie describes the "real truth" of lying America and all of the lies that she lives by, through and all for the..., demonic, lying, heady, highminded lovers of pleasures and lovers of filthy lucre ( money ) the greedy, the lying warmongers and the lying whoremongers of the earth, the reprobates, the oath and trucebreakers aka the liars and "the traitors" of "true FREEDOM...," liars and lovers of lies, lovers of darkness and lovers of evil. Lying, filthy minded and perverted men who live just as though they are..., "fathered by SATAN himself." The "belly crawling lying snake" on the earth who is soon to be on his way to "HELL" along with..., his lying and corrupt bastards in the land, the goats..., and 666 lovers of the Anti-Christ BEAST RULE SYSTEM all via the son's of "HELL" all for the lowlife lying man and better known as..., the "son of perdition!!!"
