This place is even crazier in the winter. They “close” the bike trails but nothing a little ducking can’t handle. The ski runs are okay but the bike trails are freaking crazy on a snowboard. I learned on this mountain.

Fun fact: it is possible to gap the chicane at the start of the big set on Candyland, going straight from the first berm onto the run up. I've seen people do it but I haven't done it myself out of self-preservation.

also El Jefe's green chili cheese fries are amazing after biking for a whole day

Oof those fries sound delicious, I’ll have to keep that in mind - thanks for the pro tip. I’m also with you regarding self-preservation and Candyland 😅 those jumps alone are no joke, and I bet that gap is pretty wild to see

Your channel needs more attention. Great content sir. I started on your Bomber stuff, and started looking into the back catalog. New sub for sure. Thanks for your effort. I watched everything I can find on the Z1 coil, and can't find anyone else really getting into GRIP damper perfromance, on the coil.
@GlobalTrailGuide2 жыл бұрын
Thank you my friend 🙏🏼 planning to release another Z1 vid soon, but hard for me to find specific words for GRIP performance. No complaints from me for the price. Of course I have to wonder how dreamy a GRIP 2 might be in there, but it’s an extra $350 I struggle to justify spending
@nitrorustler3332 жыл бұрын
@@GlobalTrailGuide there is a vid I watched, I'll try to find it. They made it out to be hard to do to drum up interest, but it looked pretty straight forward.
@@nitrorustler333 thanks for sharing! I watched the vid and it’s interesting to hear his take on the Z1. His size and riding style seems to differ from me, and the fork behaves differently for him than me. I’ve seen some articles from online journalists that have also tried out GRIP 2

Heyy i completely forgot to check our your video. Jacob told me about you. I didnt work that day but lift ops here is so chill. I ended up hurting my self on the clock so i only worked opening week then i completely cased the kicker on hungry huppo ( the big one) and ended up flying over the handlebars. And i ended cracking my tibia then i injured my self in the winter by crackiing it again :/ You should try comming here in the winter. This year had amazing snow. If you going to come down here this year ill probably work afain and ill probably be there. Us locals are crazy 🤪 but we want you all to enjoy urselves because this mtn is a gem.

Looks like a fun place, even if dry loose conditions can be a little sketch! Have you ever been to Palos in IL?
@GlobalTrailGuide2 жыл бұрын
Yes! Palos is the home of my first mountain bike race, the Meltdown back in… 2016? Unfortunately I haven’t been back since, so I haven’t made a video there, but it’s always in the back of my mind when I visit home. I’ll get back eventually 🤘🏼
@wpf3122 жыл бұрын
@@GlobalTrailGuide Nice! I’ve done the Meltdown race too! There are some new trails and improvements since ‘16. Only thing that hasn’t changed is the elevation lol! There’s a few challenging techy trails in the “Canal” area and some spicy unsanctioned features nearby. Some ok stuff (stairs and whatnot) by the lakefront/downtown Chicago for when the trails are closed.
@GlobalTrailGuide2 жыл бұрын
@@wpf312 good to hear! "The elevation", ain't that the truth! 😂 my family is in the far north suburbs and now even southern WI, so I don't make it that far south too often. But I'll get there at some point!

Seems like a nice trail but I have a question about the bike, did you test it or do you know how it performs at higher jumps or big city stairs?
@GlobalTrailGuide2 жыл бұрын
Very nice indeed! A lot of these jumps in this video certainly weren’t small, and as you can see, the only thing that may hold someone back is themselves! That’s my problem at least 😅

Thank you for your reply, really helping for someone to respond to me, I need to know and I asked many youtubers about some tips as I want to buy a full suspension bike but I don’t want to spend many money. Thanks again
@GlobalTrailGuide2 жыл бұрын
@@lunatic2328 any enduro bike is going to be more than capable for big jumps and city shenanigans... the long travel suspension will make for more comfortable landings and help to absorb bumps (including stairs). On my Instagram I have videos of me riding this bike up staircases 😅

Lol..Angel fire is awesome, but you need to ride pajarito. It makes AF look like a gravel ride
@GlobalTrailGuide Жыл бұрын
🤔 I don’t recall saying Angel Fire was very difficult… however that doesn’t mean it’s not an amazing park and well worth the trip But I haven’t heard of Pajarito - I’ll have to check it out If anyone’s looking for difficult; Snowshoe, Windrock, Whistler, Val di Sole, and Chatel are a few I’ve ridden that come to mind
@mikegeddie2263 Жыл бұрын
@@GlobalTrailGuideI love Angel fire and I ride there all the time. They do have some gnarly trails and something for everyone, but comparatively, pajarito is just ridiculous with hand built trails and old school wood features.
