Obviously the AON is a superb piece of art Al, but I was also in awe at the sight of the 'Giant Eggs' 1min 34secs into the vid. I believe I'm right in saying these were laid by the rather small statured & prehistoric 'Pussysmarts' bird. David Attenborough will back me up on this I'm sure. Seriously though, has the AON ever been hit by lightening? Just wondered. Great vid mate, keep 'em coming. Jules x

Hi, you are correct about the eggs Jules. It must have been struck?, as it appears to be a major lighting conductor. Someone may get lucky one day, hopefully it is very well earthed.

A scale model of Angel of The North, created by Gormley in its development stage, is owned by Gateshead Council it alone is valued at more than the cost of the sculpture.
