I'm a Caitlin Clark fan and due to her media exposure I am now much more interested in the WNBA. I am now also a huge fan of Angel Reese and many other WNBA players. Their league is excellent and these ladies are tremendous athletes that deserve respect across the board. It is amazing to me that the party of "shut up and dribble" is politicizing these players for their own agenda... or maybe it's just on brand for these hypocrites. I'm sorry Angel is injured; I look forward to seeing Caitlin and Angel back on the court together entertaining everyone with their incredible rivalry, passion and skill.

Well said. And know this: the league didn't begin with CC and AR. When CC fans try to force everyone into believing that she's the best ever, it's offensive to the MANY great players who came before. You'll have fun, if you choose to spend time with it, delving into the history of the league with its great players. Btw, CC is well on her way to having that kind of legacy, but she's not there after 4/5 of a season.

Great analogy. So many people are clearly CC fans because a white girl is showing up the black girls. They showed their true selves when CC supported a democrat and they all turned on her proving it had nothing to do with basketball or their supposed new found love of the WNBA. They were all just a bunch of racists.

@@polarbear4612 It's an extension of the John Savage scene in Do the Right Thing... a white New Yorker with a Larry Bird jersey. A very solid TE for many years, but you'd think he was Gronk judging by the jerseys in the stands. Point is there are fragile white people who want to latch on to what they feel like is fading away. These cases listed here are innocuous. But it's easy to see in the time of maga, where some of those folks jumping on a "great white hope" bandwagon.... and getting hot and bothered when they don't reciprocate.

Caitlin Clark is probably the #1 global sports story of 2024. Bigger ratings than the men's NCAA tournament, bigger ratings than some NBA games. Worldwide following, based on how many Clark/Indiana Fever KZbin channels have popped up and/or included Clark coverage. Those of us who knew better (her boyfriend's family is in the anti-racism camp) know that she'd never come out as MAGA. She was an honors marketing major at Iowa, and could give media training lessons to the whole WNBA. Every word at every post-game press conference was carefully chosen, win or lose. My only comment about Reese was that she could use some media training, her post-loss LSU game presser was a train wreck. Clark and Reese (and to some extent Brink, Cardozo, Muhl, Rickea Jackson) were an absolute gift to the WNBA, and the WNBA totally botched it. I've tried to watch every single Fever game, and a few early Aces game (go Kate Martin!), and knew this would come to head at some point. The only thing I can think now is for the door not to hit MAGA fake fans on the butt on the way out.

FWIW not all CC fans are making it about race. I'm a fan because of her attitude and insane BB IQ, but I hate how clearly racist a lot of CC fans are. I don't like Reese because I don't think she has a good attitude on the court, and I think that's carried over on her team. I also think it's lowkey embarrassing to be touting a rebound record when 30% of those rebounds are your own missed layups and she clearly padded her double-double record. Rivalry is one thing, but some of the fouls on CC are honestly embarrassingly obvious jealousy, especially in that last sky game. That being said, most of the commentary is so clearly racist that I find it super awkward to be CC fan and a POC because people often assume you think Reese is "hood trash" or some other wildly racist crap.

I simply don't care for Reese because she's a bit of a jerk. She trash talks and acts as if she's God's gift to basketball and she's been all about padding her stats. Her high rebound stats are due in part to rebounding her own missed shots. Clark is a humble and unselfish player as you can see by her assist stats. Shoots like Curry, passes like Bird. There is no room for racism or hate, but the more I watch sports videos, the more racism I see in the comments. It's sad and pathetic.
@chijaytavaakachija1513Ай бұрын
Name a thing she has done to make her seem like a jerk. She has never spoken negatively on anyone. But it seems them maga folks keeps hearing horrible quotes that dont exist. Clark isnt humble. That hand gesture AR did to CC, CC did to someone else the game before. But shes humble right, as she out there elbowing and pushing down people. Why are we ignoring that while making up things AR hasn’t done? Let’s watch games and not get information from KZbin.
@chijaytavaakachija1513Ай бұрын
Also, CC is a turn over expert. She has 10 in one game which is a record, and has more turnover in a season than anyone ever. She’s shooting only 34% from threes. Let’s not insult Curry on that. If a black woman did everything CC has done, you would be confused on why shes starting.
@Fred-vy1hmАй бұрын
@@chijaytavaakachija1513 You seem a bit confused on how the game works so let's go over your points. The NBA leader in turnovers is almost without exception an all NBA caliber player, LeBron is the career leader in turnovers and the top 30 career turnover leaders are either hall of famers or will be when they retire. This years leader was Luca Doncic, this years rookie of the year Victor Wembanyama was 3rd and former mvp's LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Giannis Antetokounmpo and Nicola Jokic were all in the top ten. The reason that is so is because the best players handle the ball more, have the opposing teams best defenders on them and face game plans specifically designed to stop them, but great players like the aforementioned still find a way to make an impact on winning and so does Caitlin Clarke, who from day one as a rookie was double teamed and blitzed and needed some time to adjust to the pressure but steadily improved to the point that she has increased her production while lowering her turnovers and unlike Angel Reese improves the players around her.
@melissah8415Ай бұрын
@@chijaytavaakachija1513 She was padding her stats. Staying in when all the other starters are on the bench and the game is out of reach, just to make sure she gets another double double? That's being a jerk. All her talk about herself being so great is annoying as well.

She is directly responsible for some of the hate that is happening by constantly not calling it out. I hope nothing bad happens to CC, but I will never give her the credit she probably deserves. Lack of action tells me you are a weak person, and CC has a lot of lack of action opportunities....... IMHO.

Not true at all. Had Reese not pulled the "you cant see me" move against IOWA while beating Clark in the Championship no one would care. The press from that skyrocketed both of them from that day on. Clark had been a phenomenal player before that instance but according to GOOGLE data interest didn't go up until that day & it carried them into the WNBA. Also Reese was already a social media star by then and had millions of followers and sponsors. So that part wasn't true either. That moment benefitted both of them in ways players that are way better than them haven't experienced (A'JA). It's just with Clark, even though she didn't court it, she unfortunately brought in a gang a of middle age maga trash & podcast bros that don't even care about the WNBA.
