I LOVE THIS STORY!! Yes, this isn't the beginning of hmong daughters leaving their parents and hmong wives leaving their horrible husbands to marry outside the race because we all know the culture don't protect or respect hmong women. If my daughter's are to marry hmong, you bet I'm going to make it very hard for them through the hmong culture and American culture. If they treat my daughters like my daughter is a slave or hurt her. They will pay and I will defend my daughter's to the death. Im glad this hmong lady left our culture and left her mean as parents. That's the thing... When she has a good life and they're suffering, then they wanna call the good child they treated bad to come help them. I would leave them for dead too if they treated me like trash. Im glad to hear a story like this. I hope all hmong daughters, wives and women take this lesson from this story and move on with your life. You owe them nothing. Love yourself and start a better life than being in a relationship with horrible parents. Good job to this strong hmong lady who recognized the hatred her step dad father done to her. Good job to this hmong woman. God bless her with happiness and joy forever. HMONG MEN AND HMONG CULTURE WILL NEVER STOP BEING ABUSIVE TO HMONG WOMEN. SOON THERE WILL BE NO GOOD HMONG WOMEN LEFT TO LOVE BECAUSE OF DISRESPECTFUL HMONG MEN. OUR HMONG WOMEN ARE LEAVING ONE AT A TIME AND ITS GREAT TO SEE HMONG WOMEN BE SUCCESSFUL WITHOUT THE DISRESPECTFUL HMONG MEN AND BE WITH OTHER RACE. IM ALL FOR IT. HMONG culture and disrespectful hmong men did it to themselves. They get what they deserve. 😂😂😂😂

Both your biological father and step-father don’t deserve you as their daughter. Your biological did not take responsibility and he didn’t acknowledge you as his child from day one. He’s now contacting you because he has no other children. If he had other children, you would not have crossed his mind. You did well for yourself and you should be proud of yourself. I’m happy that you found a man who loves you for who you are. God bless you.❤️

I love this strong fierce Hmong woman who no one ever loved because she was nothing and when she became something, people want her to come back to participate in their hate and misery. Stand your ground like she did. She’s the example that found her own path because she didn’t fall for anyones guilt trip or cultural boundaries. We we women mean nothing, don’t count us in when you need us, we live outside the bounds of your jail. Love her attitude and perspective. Be like her women.

Thank you for sharing your story, sis. I am so proud you stood up to your mom and stepfather. NO ONE should be treated less of a human just because they are not biological. I hope more women or men hear your story and that it'll give them the courage to stand up to their abusers. A lot of older generations are set to think that they can abuse the younger gens physically and mentally without any consequences. People still have a lot to change and it will only start with the person in the mirror, but I am hopeful that these old ways will fade for the better.

Why do we have, and continue to have, so many of these stories of fathers abandoning and not loving their own flesh and blood, but at the end always go back to ask for help, guilt trip them into loving and caring for him, and pulling the "I'm your blood father and if it wasn't for me, u wouldn't be here" card? I am tired of these kind of men.

In life, you only owe kindness to those who showed you kindness or are deserving of your kindness. The best way to move on with life, despite all the hurt you suffered, is to make a success of your life -- and it looks like you did just that. Good luck with your life, and don't bother, ever, to look back since nobody from your Hmong family ever truly cared about you.

Live and love your life. You went through all that strife in order to find a love and life deserving of you. No more, no less. As for Hmong people, children are brought into this world because they long for love of some sort. If parents don't love them, someone else will soon enough. Never blame the child for the parents actions. The miserable life the parents live is punishment enough, why punish the child for their sins? When young they don't know anything, so words don't hurt as much. As they grow, they realize the way they are treated impacts their life and then it goes around in a cycle. Break the cycle. :)

Such sad story. Sister it's okay you have an amazing life with your husband and children. Leave your mother be. She wasn't a real mother to you. She may be your biological and gave you life but you've paid her $10K. You do not owe her anything. She has children with her husband and gave loved to his other children and sided with him to treat you like an outsider and like crap making your life a living hell. Don't look back on that heartbreaking. Past is in the past. It was a trial and tribulations time in your life but God saw you thru your darkest moments in life and brought you out into the light surrounding you with positive vibe, husband, love, children, joy and a peaceful life full of beautiful beginnings and endless grace.
