I was brought up in a similar community as the girls and I have met women just like Nan. It was tough and you had to be tough to survive but the folk were the salt of the earth. It all went shit when the drugs came onto the scene then everything changed. The honour amongst thieves did not apply anymore. Back then it was safe for women to walk about freely and you could leave your door open how things have changed. Somethings for the better but more for the worse.
@michaelharrison36022 жыл бұрын
You could leave your back doors open because you had nothing to steal but some body would still come in and rob your gas meter. That was as common back then as smoking weed is today every other teenager was at it

Brilliant, Catherine Tate is mega talented and Nan Taylor is my favourite. Sheila Hancock is brilliant in this as well. Catherine Tate is one of the best comediennes out there, her acting skills are first class and she captures the essence of a a cockney pensioner with razor sharp wit.

Unfortunately this kind of dark humour wouldn’t be a done thing in this modern time with everybody being so super sensitive about everything and easily offended by being called she/he as they want to be called THEM, (I wonder what a “them” genitalia looks like?) Black humour, I guess is a British thing unlike in America where just saying “black humour” can cause a stir and a protest, no doubt! Oh the whole, there’s not enough humour and too many hate in this world. People are too hypersensitive about everything
