"While the FDA does approve glitter for cosmetic use, they will not approve any use of glitter on the eyes specifically. From the Lemonhead LA website, not something you'd normally want to say as a glitter cosmetics company, and backed up by tons of research I've done. The only "glitter" that's close to eye safe is flaky mica (natural and artificial) sparkle, like the ones in the Touch in Sol eyeshadows, Tarte Chrome Paints, Hourglass Scattered Light Eyeshadows, and pretty much anything with that kind of sparkle to it. Everyone has been making a huge issue because ColourPop is putting this glitter that isn't eye safe in an eye palette, because they think eye safe glitter was a choice they had and didn't care enough about it to use the right kind. Synthetic mica (Synthetic Fluorphlogopite) is also one of the first few ingredients in every shadow of the yellow palette and is in all manor of cosmetics in general.

I did a look the other day for a party that used that color combo. I used the Yess Please pallet and used the colourpop yellow liner and the glitter from the Uh-huh Honey pallet as an inner highlight. Yes I put the glitter in my eye area. I guess I live on the edge, lol.

Purple and yellow is one of my fave colour combos, or pink and green! (Although I'd personally use more yellow toned greens than those in the green palette) yellow and pink would be cute also! Colourpop putting pressed glitters in the palettes makes them un-buyable for me- i refuse to buy glitter that isn't biodegradable :/

I used the “brown” from the JP Tribe palette together with this one. It has a mustardy tone and deepens up the look well. Buzz Kill is way too light.

Love mustards and yellow toned browns. I have a couple from MUG that I adore. 😊 Re: glitter, I just seek out eye-safe microshimmer or flakey pigments in the colors I want. I can use different colors together to get the dimensionality I want.

That's exactly what I did, I took out the glitter and put in the yellow from the Makeup Ur Mind palette! I feel so much better not having a glitter in there - I will never use it on my eyes.

Oh my goodness, I love this palette on you!!!!! I knew it would be fab for you but I'm sorry you find it to lack dimension. It must be my skin tone or my coloring because the mustardy shades are able to deepen up the brighter yellows enough for me to be able to use it as a stand-alone palette. My favorite way to wear it though is to do all bright yellow above the eye & add the metallic deep blue from the CP blue palette below the eye. Gorgeous!

I use spongetip applicator to apply pressed glitter... it really works.. i use a glitter glue as well but the spongtip is good for laying down glitter.. I really enjoyed this palette.. it did have to pull in a deeper brown since the one in the palette is my skin tone..lol.. I used Lil' Boat by CP.... :o)

I'm really glad you mentioned that the glitter isn't eye safe - I assumed anything in an eyeshadow palette is safe for the eyes! Crazy right!? I love the looks you've done with this. I'd love to see the yellow & green palettes together (and maybe yellow and blue too?) I also think it'd be awesome if you could do a video on the eye pencils, which are good and which aren't. When I can get the monochromatic palettes I'm thinking I might pick up some coloured eyeliners (currently I have black and white lol) but don't wanna get crap ones haha :)

I personally enjoy yellows. The looks you created are very pretty. I am not drawn to many of the palettes in the monochromatic series, from ColourPop. I thought I was happy with the Just My Luck Palette. Now I am regretting my purchase.

Love all three looks, and I would love to see you combine some of the monochromatic palettes! I own It's My Pleasure, Just My Luck, and Blue Moon, and in the future I will buy Uh Huh Honey and probably Orange You Glad. (I have other shades similar to almost every shade in Ooh La La, so I'm not going to get that one. Still undecided on Main Squeeze and Strawberry Shake--will only buy one of them if I end up buying one. Usually if I go for a red, I go for either a rusty red or a cranberry. Strawberry Shake is probably the palette that more closely resembles the looks I would actually create... At the same time, a palette like Main Squeeze would actually add something unique to my collection because it does have a couple of those brighter reds.)

I didn’t get the Uh Huh Honey palette, but I just got the Orange You Glad palette! I think I will try to take the glitter out and add in the orange metallic, Rookie, from the Good Sport palette. I still have to double check on how compatible that shade is, though. Side note: I kinda wish the pressed glitters weren’t directly in the middle for either of these palettes. Maybe put it in a bottom corner. Idk, it just messes up the flow of the palette for me!

I think a fun challenge would be doing looks with two palettes of complementary colors: red/green, yellow/purple, orange/blue. The challenge would be making a cohesive, blended look without getting brown when the colors touched. 😏

To be fair, I personally won't use the monochromatic palettes on their own... for me they're great to expand my collection with a certain colour range (e. g. different yellows here) and I'm most likely depotting them into larger palettes anyway. Even though I agree with you about the lack of dimension, *yellow is a super light colour overall* and I would have been far more disappointed with the palette if there had been several "real" browns in there just to deepen up a look - who doesn't already have far too many browns? :)
