I’m a bridal mua and i wanted to tell you how the hourglass concealer works best: it needs to be spread out with a flat brush really thin and then blended with the lightest pressure using a sponge. This way it dries evenly and the coverage/texture is much better! Most hourglass skin products behave like this because the formula works longwear and hence is a little trickier to work with. I hope you can work it out! It’s one of my favorites for clients!

I have legitimately dark under eyes (genetics) and use tarte shape tape but am wondering if you’d recommend the Hourglass concealer instead? I like the idea of something with a bit more of a natural and dewy finish but need the full coverage

@@LaLaBlahBlahh i also have dark undereyes and also wear the shape tape (the creamy version). i recommend you either do an undereye brightner before concealer (makes a HUGE difference) or you get the luminous version but do swatch before buying it, people on reedit are saying that the shades are not consistent

As someone with a very fair cool toned complexion I can sympathize. It’s difficult to find a lip liner that pulls more neutral or cool toned on my skin though it’s far more difficult to find bronzers that don’t look orange, contours that don’t look like bronzer, and foundations/concealers that don’t look yellow/orange on me. The eternal struggle against warm tones

I’m pale but olive and let me tell you: the struggle of finding actually pink colors is real. They all become orange on me. Pillow talk is a nude apricot on me. I can’t wait for the fair version to come to my country. CT last collection has some good pinks and a cool toned reds so I’m saving for two of those

I’m not a fan of hourglass due to them not being inclusive for deeper skin tones . They still need to expand their shade range especially with their powders. I can never get holiday face pallet because it does nothing on my skin tone. I remember buying the ambient glow foundation because I saw you raving about it on your deep dive videos even though I was hesitant. The undertone was supposed to be neutral but it was literally Willy Wonka Oompa Loompa on me. Formula was nice but it was a no for me. I would like to be like one of the girls raving about the brand but they just don’t really see me. 🤷🏿‍♂️🤷🏿‍♂️🤷🏿‍♂️

The brand had two discrimination lawsuits in the past brought against them by former workers and seeing as how they had to literally be shamed into releasing a (slightly) darker version of their face palette because white influencers started to do a soft boycott they don’t care to be inclusive. The majority of their target fanbase also does not care about inclusivity, so they will only continue to do lip service where shades are concerned. You’re not missing much tho. It’s overrated as a luxury brand. I would recommend danesa myricks!

It has to do with your undertone, at least for me it does, sometimes a lot of products come out warmer/ orangy on me because of that. And we need to be critical cause we are paying lot of money for a few brands and if they don't deliver is wasted money. I love hourglass finishing powders, blushes and highlighters (the palette is a nice investment for that but they don’t have my shade in the new ones, I’m holding on for dear life to the old one I have), the stick highlighter, the caution mascara, the loose powder (for dry times, which aren’t many atm) and the scattered lights pressed glitters are outstanding. I used the stick foundation a long time ago and loved it, but my preferences have changed and I don’t know how I’d get along with it now. I didn’t get along with the liquid foundation, though, it creases and enhances my wrinkles, no matter how thinly I apply it. I wanted to try the tint, but I hear the Danessa Myricks is very similar and it’s way cheaper.

This foundation seems like it would be great for oily skin. I’ve been looking for a good foundation for my super oily skin because nothing I’ve tried so far seems to last very long or it settles in my pores and looks sweaty and wet within an hour despite using primer, powder and setting spray. I wanna try it but it’s so expensive at £49 I’m hesitant 😅

If u want a pink lip liner, try the brand Flortte “I am Super Beauty Cute Things Lip Liner” in the shade Milk or cookie. But I think is a bit hard to get in the UK

Hey! Idk if you will ever see this but I am in my late 30’s and LOVE hourglass products- anyway the concealer might just be too light- I have very fair/dry skin and even in the summer when I don’t have as dry or as light skin super light concealer colors look VERY dry on my skin- hope this helps!

I couldn’t agree more with specifically lip liner swatch’s looking so jacked up online. I look best in mauve or cool toned pinky nude lips. Can’t tell you the amount the pull or just are peachy orange & NOTHING looks worse on my lip than peachy. I also agree that we need to calm down with the lip liner prices. It’s. A. Pencil!! I have an obsession with only the long lasting ones Natasha Charlotte nyx line loud. OMG I can’t believe the amount of issues you had with those liners & I just KNOW they were each line $25. The hourglass ambient soft glow foundation is beautiful but all the shades pull too yellow on my skin, I even went in store to get shade matched and we couldn't find a shade that matched 😢 and in Australia it's a $100 foundation, I am not buying two shades to mix at that price.

hourglass aibrush primer sucks in my opinion (dry skin). Their oil primer, if you can get ahold of it, is the best primer ive ever used. It’s a facial in a bottle. There’s like, 20 something or more essential oils in it, perfect for all day glowy makeup. Sephora stopped selling it and ive been devastated.

The issue with the base is down to the skincare before. You never mentioned anything other than the primer. Your skin looks quite dry and if you did some very moisturising skincare and an BHA serum/SPF before you did you’re makeup you should notice a big difference . You mention that your eyes are greasy so that tells me that you’re combination, so 100% your skin needs a very effective moisturiser and moisturising serums 30 mins before you start your makeup and it will reduce any greasy areas should settle down.
