Angelina to me seems to have avoided many of the things that most people go through to obtain the capacity for empathy so vital to singing the styles she has truly mastered and continues to perfect with every rendition. Insane. Jazz and soul in particular. People remark on AJs confidence. My thought is the allowance of her family for AJ to explore and play in music practically endlessly …supporting incremental build up of learning over many years in all aspects of musical performance. Basically her happy easygoing outlook has remained intact because of the protected sandbox she played in all her life. She decided she wanted to be a singer when she was 1 year old after seeing Whitney sing on tv. See the video where someone in her family handed her an actual mic and she sang “I Will Always Love You.” Age 1.5 and I have no clue what age she was when she started talking let alone singing. Crazy. Even after seeing that video many times, it is hard for me to believe.

Angelina has put so much on YT since 6 years old and we've been given a rare opportunity to witness the development of a future star. Because of that many fans feel that she is family as if she were one of our own. I do believe she has just experimented with so many genres to find where her passions are in music. She has no fear by allowing us to see her rehearsals and practice sessions. Her video library is like a documentary for music lovers. In this performance you can see she struggles a little to get the high notes and seems to also struggle some with breathing but if you listen without watching it's not really that noticeable. Still an incredible performance for a girl only 2 months into her 13th year, 8th grade. I'm glad you are not going in chronological order because it would take a year just to get current with her if you dropped 4 reactions per week, LOL. The fans by and large know the best videos to watch and I'm sure will guide you. With her choice of Mount Everest as opening song, I still think she is experimenting and finding out what she likes. I think that is great and she should always keep that up seeking new inspirations and new ideas to keep it fresh and exciting for herself.

Angelina just redid this song about a week ago, 16, black & white, in the same antique store, I would call it a studio type version, made it her own, and it’s the best I’ve ever heard of any one who’s done it. The version you just listen to, she was 13. It’s a great comparison to hear how much her voice has matured.

At her last concert on July 10th 2022, when Angelina told why she sings this song and dedicated it to her grandmother Mery Zamani, I understand this song completely differently. Whenever I hear the line "Don't you dare walk away from me" now, all I hear and see is Angelina, no matter who sings it. It's just an Angelina's song for me now. 💯 *AJ* 💯

Thanks for that great reaction . Angelina 's voice is liken to a fine violin in the hands of a master that can play any song , any genre' of music to a master class level. Angelina found herself at just 18 months old as she grabbed a mike ,( lying in her crib) , almost as big as her and sang a part of a Whitney Huston song ( Whitney Huston song , video on you tube of this here is the link kzbin.info/www/bejne/jHvNeGlueculY5o at 1:55 on this video is her at 1.5 years old ) She has said many times over that she just love to sing and make people happy, to that end at merely 16 years old she has fulfilled that over and over again. Most singers try to, as you say find their niche or style and when they do they usually stay there and build a career on it not so with Angelina. Angelina is the ultimate natural singer , whom finds no problem with any genre' of song . Angelina is the first one I know of who can not be put in any genre' box or style , just as one can not say that any instrument can only play this or that genre' of music . Many will say she is a jazz singer and in that genre' she is a master , however, she can also take on any genre' and make one think that is her thing. Angelina to me is the first maestro singers singer ,the Stradivarius of the vocal instrument,

As you’ve already heard (but I’ll mention it again), the version she just did a couple weeks ago is really at another level. This recording you’re seeing here is notable because Angelina fans recognize it as one of the very few times you will see Angelina going up to her limits. We’re so used to her making everything look easy, but this shows her reaching-even though it’s so amazing for a 13 year old. Her current version is just a knockout. It’s done in her own voice, where this follows Whitney’s. The depth of tone and the resonance of today’s Angelina is startling. And her vocal dynamics, textures, killer vibrato, and lower register make this, yes, an Angelina song rather than a cover of Whitney. Consider reacting to her current release. It would be a wonderful way to compare the versions three years apart. But even if you don’t do a public reaction (but I hope you do), you need to hear what Angelina can do today with this song. You liked this at 13-you’ll be blown away by her today.

Thanks for another great reaction to & appreciation of Angelina's masterful cover of this Whitney Houston classic - at age 13. At 16 now, she just released her current studio cover of this song - definitely worth a listen to hear the incredible growth & development in her vocals. Out of all of Angelina songs this one was far down my list, and one that never felt the urge to listen to more then a few times... Only for the reason she was "Trying to do much Whitney" and was clearly running out of breath and pushing herself a little to far. Just my feelings on it. (not that it's bad by anymeans...) Then at 16 Years old, she sang it live in a stunningly elegant blue dress in norway, and then a few weeks later she released a "Studio" Video of the same version. I"ve watched both countless times... Cause she did it her way this time, she was in complete control and she practically made it easy. I was hoping when I saw your thumbnail that perhaps you were going to do both the 13 year old version, and then either the live or studio version at 16. All good though. ;) One last thing.. She also sang this live during her concerts in July and dedicated it to her Grandmother who is battling cancer and couldn't make it to Norway this time. So that is who she is singing too, who she doesn't walk away etc.... SO much more Touching now.

She still is discovering herself :-) During recent live concerts she opened with a song of Labyrinth called Mount Everest which shows to me she is still branching out and I hope she will never stop doing that. She never stop going wild and keep it fresh and exciting for herself. It is so exciting to see this journey and see her developing herself. At any age she was and is way ahead of the curve with a long flat line behind her. At currently 16, she still has a decade to go before her voice fully matures. I do not think she is not comprehending the lyrics. When singing she puts sounds before correct pronunciation. She will often go for open A and O sounds. However when she speaks English, she is pretty much flawless and without accent. It might be nice for you to jump ahead just once and do a few recent performances to see where she is at right now.

This version she sang 3 years ago at 13 was more a "See I can belt too" for her fans who had requested it than a "I'm making it mine" cover. Not saying it wasn't good just that it's what the purpose of making this video was. That's why she did it in Whitney's key too. If you want to listen to a "I'm making it my own" version of this song you have 2 choices : Her live in concert very recently (2022) It was just posted on her official channel but was filmed for TV a couple of weeks ago : kzbin.info/www/bejne/mHavlJp3abhqo68 Her studio version done a couple of weeks after the live : kzbin.info/www/bejne/n4mTmGxvn7NlbLc In these versions she dropped the key by 3 semitones and if fits her voice and tone much more. Another great reaction to Angelina. Angelina has stated many times that her inspiration was her grandmother who is world renowned poet and artist Mery Zamani aka Mosarz Mery herself was a child prodigy and started painting at young age she instilled in Angelina her love of Jazz and her humanitarianism both Have been raised money for different charities and causes all over the world, Angelina with her concerts and shows and Mery with her art exhibits. When Angelina is singing at home in most of her performances that’s her grandmothers art behind her.

I really enjoyed your reaction to this. This summer she has sung thus song at several concerts which were all good by in my opinion her most recent studio performance was off the charts. The audio quality and video are much better and her interpretation is more deeply angelina. I saw a vid where her voice was mapped to Whitney's word for word. This is a great cover, especially for a 12-year-old, but it's one of the few where she DID NOT make it her own. She redid this cover recently with her people at Republic Records. The key was lowered from G to E (genius), and after you see that video you can say she now owns that song and that no one else will every be able to do so again.

Angelina has performed ‘I Have Nothing’ three times (I’m grouping all the live versions together). Not only is the Official version the best it has the potential to vastly outstrip the other versions by the end of the year if not earlier. I personally think the Official version is better than Whitney Houston’s version.

Honestly do not think there's a good/best order to discovering AJ, the "best" way is the one you take. Like you point out it is all there to find. Its a very unique and amazing thing to see a whole career evolve. In building the video list, it kinda becomes apparent there are few different styles of videos there's all the live/rehearsal ones which there is a lot of, kinda solidifies she is a live performer at the ripe old age of 16, tbo she's cemented this by the age of 10/11. Then there is this style of "trying things out" or "home" sessions with Ivan Mendez and Egil Clausen, what's amazing is that often she's doing one takes and just picking a song and doing it, you will often see her reading the lyrics as she's singing. There's the more official stuff, which has been pointed out she did this both live (the Mattias Axelsson) videos are probably the best quality and he asked the family permission to post , and Studio version. Those are more "AJ" versions and are awesome lol. As for range "how great thou art" is an eye opener and stuff like Rihannas "Stay" her take on Momma and Pappas "California Dreamin" is great as she reinvents oldies. Mount Everest from the July concerts is definitely high on my play list, and honestly think there are some more surprises to come, whilst she is and will always be a fantastic jazz artist she loves to excite and push her self and treat her fans which is only good for us. 😀 My gut tells me there is an EDM monster somewhere. As you can tell even her 4 Norways got talent performances that ranged from 7-8 till the final. This girl is definitely good. For another suggestion of one of my favourite female singers with a powerhouse voice and a blues soul check out Morgan James. I'd say start with her performance of Dream On with PMJ or her cover of Peter Gabriel's Sledgehammer then just move through her extensive catalog of songs. Thank you for your reaction. You missed out a lot by not listening to her early performances. To understand Angelina you have to delft deep in her more than 160 covers and own songs. Reactors that know about her covers and her jazz back ground always discover the influence of jazz in her performances. Some reactors that don't know much about Angelina and jazz are quick to point out that she is some times not on time not understand what she is doing. On the other hand, you've got it.

There's definitely an Angelina vibe lurking here somewhere, but this cover is so much like the original that it just doesn't scratch that Angelina itch for me. She sings it beautifully, however. Her more current studio recording of it is a little bluesier and I like it a little better because of that. BTW, Prymal, has anyone mentioned to you that Angelina also paints?

YOU DID And I see you have not yet done her best age 10 performance which is a polished demo for a song called "" I'm still holding out for you"" To me it sounds like it is a final production production of the song write down to the details of the crackly vinyl at the end.. And not just some demo. It is a lost opportunity for the world that for the world that this was never released. Both will blow you away regardless of what their age was her age was at the time of recording.
