The first time I heard this piece, I cried for a solid hour, then made an appointment with a therapist. I have become a student...not a victim. Online...I realized I was one of MILLIONS. Wait, what? You feel like that TOO????? Six months down the road....I am lighter, stronger, happier.....The raging demon is now an inconsiderate room mate. When he stands up...on his own two feet....and the surge of reggae triumph....LOVE THIS! Watch Jenny/Screech/Violet. Now dig deeper, as another of Ren's songs says. Notice how he uses guitar as in Tale of Jenny and Screech, in the Violet's song. He does the same here, and brings us back to begging of song. Telling us not to fight ourselves, to dance with ourselves. To be with one foot in Jin, the chaos, and with another foot in Jang, the order. Because one doesn't exist without other. And to dance. Dance away, my friends.

There is something so beautiful about seeing people capable of really connecting and being able to express their emotions that it amazes me. And being so quick to react like that gave the impression of a deeper understanding of our human condition itself, not to mention the problems that Ren had experienced itself. Nice.

To this day I ask myself the question: why did I even watch this video? It's not my taste in music, at least that's what I would have said back then, and English is difficult for me to understand, I have to work out a lot of it through translation! So... why did I watch it and was immediately moved, even though I could only understand half of it? Well - my answer today is probably: because it's Ren, Ren and his way of presenting this song, and that's also the reason why I'm a big fan of Ren's art today! The translation is getting easier for me, often it's not even necessary anymore! Ren touched me as an artist in a way like no other! Thank you Rosalie and thank you to your good friend! there is music but the music is a device. just like ink and papyrus. it tells of humanity... and the best thing is if you really dive into REN... he does address the darkness... but his light side... it is amazing. don't box him into a black space. DO watch the tale of Jenny & Screech and DO watch all 3 parts of money game... ... but also watch back to 74 and watch him busking and watch him in his flat singing Englishman in New York. ... he is fucking brilliant. brave enough to show the ugly. knowledgeable enough to know we need to smile.

Hi bili, I am 53 years old. I say old cause I suffered a stroke and now I feel old. But that’s another story. I lost count of how many reaction videos I’ve watched and like you I cry every time I hear this song. Hi Ren was my first introduction to Ren and now I can’t get enough of him. I totally agree with you Ren is the best artist in my lifetime, by a long, long way.. He has some great music but Hi Ren is something else. Excellent, heartfelt reaction from Wendi! I hope you have her on for more Ren reactions! Your introduction to Hi Ren early last year was the first Ren song/reaction I ever shared with someone else--my sister, a therapist who uses music therapy as one of her modalities. I've sent her a few other Ren song links since then, but only learned a few weeks ago that she shares his music with one of her clients, a woman with Lyme disease. As for me, I struggled with depression, co-dependency issues, PTSD and ASD--and Ren has completely healed me! Just kidding, of course. (I probably shouldn't joke about psychological issues, but it does seem to take the sting out of them.😂 ) Joking aside, I have found Ren's music to be very therapeutic, especially the whole HOPE aspect of his songs and life story! I was touched by Wendi's story of hope as well. Thank you!

The movie Wendi is thinking about is "Dogma". Also, Wendi mentioned the line "...just take another pill, boy..." but it really part of that inner critic saying, "We've been here before, this treatment won't work as all these others didn't (it lists a few)." And as Ren responds to the inner critic, notice, he becomes more and more frantic in trying push it away, citing all the good things that are happening but this only feeds the inner critic and so much so, it near dominates Ren. But just before all is lost, Ren gathers himself, calms down and responds so beautifully, accepting that all that is happening to him is for a positive reason. And my favorite line from that part is "I am known by many names also, some know me as Hope or the voice you hear when the loose the noose on the rope." As suffering of mental health issues, I don't hear voice quite like that but I self-sabotage myself by daydreaming all this grandiose things where I am best of best at some sport or might titan of industry knowing how utterly impossible it is so instead of trying for a more reachable goal, I just give up and do nothing, feeling like nothing. As far as inner critic, I wonder, as with any argument, it takes two. So, if you don't react, don't defend yourself to yourself, can you silence that part of yourself? Anyhow, thank you both for reviewing this moving song and for Wendi sharing about herself. That means alot - we are not alone - we are human beings.

The intentional errors programmed into the piece to unnerve and heighten awareness and anticipation. Absolutely compelling and enthralling. It's nine minutes long but it has to be. Every second is important. There is no way to cut anything or edit any part of it. Every piece of the visual and audio is important and demands your attention. It's like life, it's all there and you cannot remove a single moment, even if you are slightly uncomfortable it's impossible to turn away from it. Thank you both. And thank you Ren. Be well.

This song never gets old for me. I spent so long bottled up, high strung, and ready to snap at any moment. I bawled the first time I listened to it. Because of this song, I've learned to let myself go with the flow and be able to accept a situation even if its not going to my plan. That used to be impossible for me and I would lash out in anger. This man's battle has helped so many people far more than he will ever know. God bless your guest. Her tears showed that she really needed that message. If I can say anything is that you have a beautiful soul and you're so much stronger than you know, being able to manage your disorder while successfully being a mom, a wife, and a writer. You shoudl be so proud of your accomplishments! Sending love and prayers for you and your family.

Awe she broke my heart. I've watched this many times. It still hits me. Especially when I see another person genuinely connect with it. ❤

what a visceral reaction that Wendi had. every time I watch a reaction to this song the same feelings that I had come flooding back. and every time I react to it or I listen to someone else speak about what it means to them I get something else or it opens a new avenue of self reflection. can we get Wendi back please? Thankyou Rosalie, Wendi and ultimately, Ren
