My classic dilemma with Angelina: her very young performances, even with a less developed voice, just melt me. Her new version of this song is spectacular, mature, and mesmerizing. Her version when she was a child gives us the beauty of her raw voice, beautifully raspy, and with her own phrasing. And her happiness singing for us is completely infectious. As often happens, my favorite Angelina song is the one I heard most recently. And I agree with you that her new release is probably the best version I’ve ever heard of My Funny Valentine. What’s so amazing is that Angelina gives me my favorite versions of songs across five or six genres. That must be impossible, but it isn’t. Without a doubt, she is the best singer I have ever heard.

This is my 47th time listening to this MASTERPIECE and each time I experience a new level of perfection by our ethereal prodigy extraordinaire, Angelina Jordan. When you listen to the A cappella portions of this performance you are truly experiencing the genius of Angelina Jordan’s PERFECT PITCH. Sinatra, rest in peace Angelina Jordan, the Bare Foot Queen has taken the crown and there is nothing like her in the universe. I put this on pause and brought up Sinatra, Bublé, Streisand, Fitzgerald and Vaughan's version of this song to compare it to AJ version, and none of them moved me like this version. It is so hard to comprehend that Angelina from 7 to 16 is the greatest story telling being in my 74 years of experiencing great vocalist and I can't wait for the rest of the story.

Excellent reaction, first I like your new start! It is so beautiful undeniable and flawless and this is her own, not a produced in studio. That's crazy in itself and her movements are she is practicing her modeling movements. She said about a year and a half ago that she was getting into modeling and had been hanging with Heidi Klum. She had the jazz in her DNA to perform this classic song with all the inflections and nuances that this song requires and she sang it effortlessly and sincerely from her heart ! You can tell from her performances how much time she has spent LISTENING to music, not just singing. And she learns and picks up all of the nuances of the classic performers and is able to incorporate and mix them in with her own vocals. Listen to Billie Holidays Gloomy Sunday, then right after listen to Angelina on NGT at 7 sing it. Its uncanny. A talent that I have never seen in any performer. Great reaction as always.

That was very satisfying to see the two versions of the song side by side. The first was much the original while the second was more the jazz standard of Sinatra and others. Angelina's rendition is just stellar, stupidly so. The wide dynamic range in pitch, volume, and cadence left me dizzy with delight! She has breathed new life in this song, so much so that it is now her right to claim it as her own legacy IMHO! And this was not performed as a full production performance--how she does this so casually is a mystery to me. Just my SPECULATION - This gives me the impression of a school project for Angelina. The track sounds like Rob Christie on piano and synth strings, and the video in the store being filmed as a selfie just is different enough from other videos she has done, that I speculate she did this for a film or production class at the LA Performing Arts High School. Most Artists shy away from singing Acappella as it will quickly show any flaws. I have watched this video now 27 times and every time I hear the intro my body gets overwhelmed with chills. IMO, the depth and breadth of Angelina’s vocal acuity is unmatched. Her tone melts my heart. Angelina always demonstrates her highly advanced intellect, intuition, instincts and hyper sensitivity to lay bare the intended emotional reaction of the song that the writer wanted is astounding. There simply is no young and talented female vocalist that is as multifaceted as Angelina is. I will gladly stand on a hill and pronounce that Angelina Jordan is a once-in-a-generation talent. Hello, thank you once again for showing your appreciation for this great artist. Huge since when she was still less than a meter tall. I remember growing up watching and hearing very famous artists, who were said to have started their careers very early, some as young as 5 or 6 years old. But, in general, only a few faded old photographs or some poor-quality video images were preserved from those stages. Thanks to this new technological era, we are fortunate to be able to see the growth of this luminous star on record, to appreciate its development, the sparks of musical intelligence, of genius, gradually transforming into a dazzling brilliance. You are very right, she is a daughter of this new age, a daughter, sister, close relative of all of us. We can see her in all her innocence, grow from her, change her taste in clothing, the color of her eyes, her artistic experimentation, see her face challenges that she imposes on herself. Discover that in each stage of her artistic life she has always been the one that sets the standard for her age. As I have added in another comment, for me, each stage of her artistic career is my favorite, each interpretation is the best I have heard, in each possible genre.
