Nice reaction Nick! In regards to the shoes, it's one of those rare times where she had to probably due to the venue dress code policy/rules. She's had to wear shoes when she was a debutante and performer when she was personally invited to Le Bal in Paris, France. Le Bal is one of the most oldest and prestigious balls held in the world and probably had a similar type of code and rule all had to follow. As for the song, Bad Valentine is a BANGER! This is just full of R&B and Soul and completely in her wheelhouse. Every time I hear this, I get chills! If this what Angelina and Toby's collab is going to be like, I'm al for it!

At this point in Angelina's career her feet, voice and hair are more than likely insured. The surface she is standing on looks to be of a particle board which has a myriad of loose splintered wood. Angelina was more than likely convinced to wear shoes on the stage platform for safety and insurance reasons. After all, if she had simply just received a splinter in her foot/feet, it would have been costly to the venue.

The shoes are likely an insurance requirement by the small venue. The song has two parts: first, she admits to her bad behavior and is almost apologetic; later, she explains the reasons behind it. The song portrays a passionate woman who wanted a genuine relationship with a man she hoped would be her equal. However, he sees her as an idealized version of herself, twisting her actions to fit his fantasy. This causes her to push back and behave badly, trying to break his illusion and have a real relationship, but it only makes her feel worse about herself.
