Yes, Angelina elicits an emotional response, but I also react physically. I feel the weight of the lyrics when Angelina sings. She combines that incredible vocal talent and unlimited vocal dynamics with an interpretation of lyrics that seems personal to her, but makes you, the listener, feel them rather than hear them. Adele is a spectacular songwriter, but Angelina’s vocal tools take this great song to another level.

Exactly Mr. J, I've never had an artist elicit such emotional responses like Angelina does all the time. She has a calming effect better than any prescription medication I know of. Fans comment all the time that they have to have their daily dose of Angelina music & I'm one of them.

Great reaction. Yes, her voice is incredibly soothing to me as well. To me, the quality that I sense is a complete honesty with no pretense. When I listen to her music I never get the feeling of someone singing "at" me. She simply and elegantly sings "to" me and allows me to drop my guard, let her in, and just enjoy the music. The experience of listening to Angelina is more of a conversation with an old friend.

Like a benevolent siren it hypnotizes with its song and you don't even need to know English perfectly since fans are everywhere. The beauty that especially amazes middle-aged and elderly people, experienced people who, unlike young people, are armored, and she manages to undo this armor in a few seconds. If I were a believer I would say that she is a goddess who came down to earth to heal the world. I wouldn't be surprised to hear that Angelina's singing heals people.

Yes, Angelina is something special. I know two other young singers I follow who has this gift to convey emotion to others with their voices, although both in different genres of music: Amira Willighagen (19) from the Netherlands and Lucy Thomas (19) from the UK. But... Angelina to me is 'out of category' level.

👣😇 Mia Gunderson, a long time judge on Norway's Got Talent, made a very profound pronouncement after Angelina's last performance on the show. In her final judge's comments, Mia said to that then diminutive moppet: - "You have been given a genuine gift that shows up at this young age. You've been given the ability to convey emotions to other people, and this can be overwhelming for an 8-year-old. But this gift is yours and it's a rare thing, because in these days not many people can do it. They sing, and there are a lot of people who can sing very well. But your strength is that you have a 'completely unique ability to communicate'. ... For me, it's this final ingredient/gift that ties together the perfect storm of talent we've seen in Angelina time and again. She could have been just an amazing singer, but that would have been insufficient on its own to leave the mark she has on us all. I don't think that talent alone would explain why we come back thirsty to this well again and again. Even when we've watched all of her performances and the many many videos by her "angel reactors," we're right back day after day, filling our cups at that singular well. In a nut shell, "a musical prodigy" + "the barefoot princess of Jazz" + "a charitable and humble spirit" + "the ability to emote meaning and feelings (projecting them onto the listener,)" which when combined, = Angelina Jordan Astar. She's a one in a billion human angel who's impacted many of our lives, and very soon, the world. Don't ask me who the other 7 amazing talents are. I only know that I've/we've found that one in a billion we're dead sure about.

You have to ask yourself how a 15-year-old Angelina Jordan could do this song justice and give it the emotion it deserves? Here again, AJ takes on the impossible and makes it a classic as she always does. As usual, grandma Mery is close, and even appears in this video with AJ. Mery has been a major powerhouse behind AJ, and they would be lost without each other. One genius helping create another. Every time this girl opens her mouth and those ethereal sounds come rolling out, I lose my breath, and the tears appear. I love great music from all styles. I played rock and jazz for years. I'm 72 and I've never been addicted to an artist like I am with Angelina Jordan. I don't understand it. I know all the music theory, I appreciate the talents and virtuosity of meny great instrumentalists and singers. But AJ is unique in pulling me into each song and, as you say, "hitting me in the feels". It is so strong, it is like an addiction. But unlike an addiction I come out of each performance feeling better as a human being. Again I don't understand it. I just am thankful for it.

Almost every song makes me weep when I hear her sing. It's been that way since the 1st song. I listen to her every day exclusively. She has ruined every other artist for me but I really don't care. She is one of a kind. I'm 66 and music has been in my life since I can remember and I am certain there hasn't been a voice like this ever. Angelina's new original song, "Love Don't Let Me Go" will be released on Friday May 5th. Angelina's team today announced a EP will be released in June. You and a whole bunch of others have had to deal with the "Angelina Effect"...when you hear her sing, she makes a lot of people get emotional, feel chills and get goosebumps, and tear up and it's really hard to describe why. So many have said that she knows how to story tell a song to make you feel the emotions of a song but also feel calm and at ease as well. You my friend are not the only one. I discovered her January 2020 and I have been an Angel ever since. To watch her journey has been incredible and also an honor and privilege. How often do we get to see a future superstar grow up right in front of our eyes? So glad that I discovered Angelina!

This performance by Angelina gives me goosebumps every single time and I've probably watched it 100 times. She soothes and at the same time makes my hair stand up. I love this performance. In Joni Mitchel’s song ‘A case of you’ (great song!) there is this verse ‘I remember this time, you told me, love is touching souls, surely you touched mine, cuz parts of you pour out of me in these lines from time to time’. Much in the same way I think art is about touching souls: good art touches you emotionally. Which are depends on your personal taste and there is no accounting for taste. With Angelina it is as if she has a direct neural pathway into my brain where all the good things are: happiness, relaxation, joy, contentment etc. With some songs she also touches the sad part but not all sadness or tears are bad :-)

The reason is clear to me: Adele's voice on this song is agressive, like she's angry at somebody. Listen to her version again or listen to the mash-up Adele/Angelina, and you will surely notice that.

Adele great, for sure. But when it comes to heartfelt ballads, a true jazz specialist like Angelina will always bring forth more emotion laden penetration than any 'Pop' singer.......even one as good as Adele. Because Angelina has this unique 'vocal chameleon' ability to sound like any singer, anytime she desires, you will hear portions of this song where it does sound like Adele. But, because Angelina brings in the 'breathy', 'whisper-like' inflections she learned from Billie Holiday, her rendition will always be like no one else. Vocal expert analyzer Andreas Grussl has a video titled - Is This Better Than Adele? In it he compares them both side by side throughout the song and let's the listener hear why he feels Angelina is superior in her presentation. What is also amazing, concerns the power sections of the song where he shows how Angelina actually 'out belts' Adele. It is believed that a singer doesn't get full development of their lungs until they reach their 20's and this is beyond mind boggling when you hear her show more power than Adele.

God what a beautiful voice. But there is something else at play too. Very confusing that any of us that let her, she makes us feel connected to her, better. That's art in a sense, and you can get that elsewhere, but it's entirely different. With her it feels like we get a real piece of her. Not just her in that moment in time, but her. It isn't even only that, some weird strength and calming qualities. I don't know if she's everyone's mother and fearless leader or what the fuck is going on. The vibes are unreal. It's like wonder woman is a phenomenal kid singer and communicating that we're all gonna be ok in a voice that can't be real. I don't know, if you truly want to make people feel better, can you put that into your entire performance of a whole story as another added layer? That doesn't make sense to me. The motivation is always that though? We know her roots, her stated motivations, we know it adds up. This is all a very common sentiment. But to actually have a secondary story in every song be something like that, that we often feel, it's a different kind of communication. How do you manage that anyway? Two simultaneous stories. Willpower? Anyway thank god for her. Andy's comment is unreal, it does feel like your soul is being hugged. I know we're proud and entirely hers, but she earned that, and there is definitely something there in her intent that is very strong and sweet. How she puts it into her communication of a song, along with it, is crazy. It's strongest in songs about vulnerabilities and there for 100% of those. Like this gem.
