She is a very savvy musician and is in command and very good at musical direction with the performers that play with her. one of the good things about her cover channel is that her voice is right out front and recently has been very well recorded when she upgraded equipment, , resulting in a very detailed and intimate sound. Because she is new to you and maybe some of your followers, here is a little bio... *Angelina Jordan* - Angelina Jordan was born in Jan 2006. She is currently 13 (8 in this performance) - She began singing at the age of one and a half - At 2 or 3 she discovered Jazz through KZbin videos and studied all the greats from Jazz history. - Angelina always sings barefoot..... When Angelina was 6, she was traveling and met a poor girl with no shoes trying to make money on the streets. The girl complimented her on her pretty shoes, so Angelina took them off and gave them to the girl. She made a vow to always sing barefoot until all the children of the world have shoes. To this day, whenever Angelina is performing in public she is barefoot. (that's a shortened version. the full story is more touching than the way I have told it here) - She has always been the driving force behind her own singing career. It was her that asked her mother to take her to Norways Got Talent, where she auditioned at 7 years old and went on to win the show at just 8 years old. - In an interview after the show, when asked what she was going to do with the money, the 8 year old replied "I would like to give it to orphans that need clothes and shoes" - The reason you may not have heard of her is because her parents are very protective of her childhood. They do not want her to be thrust into stardom before she has a chance to grow up as a normal child, and finish her education. They allow her to do a few select shows (mainly private and charity events) with a couple public shows every year when she is out of school. Her mother said in an interview that they have turned down 90% of the offers that come in. I have heard they have turned down offers from many major record labels and even disney. - Angelina has covered more than 100 songs over the last 6 years. She always selects the songs herself... everything ranging from old classic jazz to modern pop. She is able to change her voice to match any song she sings and make it her own. (she can cover Amy winehouse and Lana del Rey like nobody else) - Angelina has collaborated with some very big names over the last few years... Quincy Jones, Mark Ronson, David Foster, and many more. All of which heard her covering their songs and were blown away by her talent. - Angelina has written three of her own original songs: "What is Life", "Shield" and "Oslo". (all are amazing...all can be found on youtube) In summary, Angelina Jordan is destined to be one of the greatest singers to have ever lived. This is just my opinion, but if you listen closely to any of her stuff you will hear the greatness. She sings with a natural style. There is no acting, no showing off, there are no unnecessary runs, or big belty notes just for the purpose of saying "hey look at me sing". She once said "when I sing I go into a magical world in my head", and you can always hear the results of that. When Angelina sings it is pure soul, pure emotion, pure music.

YESSS!!! Here she is, my favorite winner of all "Got Talent" winners around the globe, my "Champion of Champions!" Thanks so much for reacting to this. I nearly cried because watching you guys was like discovering her for the first time again. I occasionally put her in my earphones while I go to sleep. I think all of her auditions were great, particularly "Summertime" and "Bang Bang"... and her most STUNNING one after the competition: "I Put a Spell on You." I also love her singing "What a Wonderful World" a cappella while in her home. Things I remember learning about her - there's some story why she always sings barefoot, which I haven't researched yet. She's written a book (!) that might explain it. At this age, it was said she hardly knew any English and was singing those lyrics purely phonetically! This type of music was around in the house and so she just imitated its sounds, which might explain how in the world she captures the nuances of Louis Armstrong. I have to admit I haven't been as enchanted by her more recent songs, perhaps because I don't hear as much jazz from her. But maybe I need to explore more and I do like "Stay" quite a bit. But when she sings jazz again (e.g., "When You're Smiling") you can clearly hear she's back in her element. (Edit: I've been exploring and have found some fantastic non-jazz songs by Angelina! "Wicked Game" and "You're Always on My Mind" are just spectacular!) That hair, I know!!! I just wanna pat it. Thanks again, and I hope there will be more!

One thing about Angelina... She's already a great singer at the age of 7.. And it's not only because of her insane vocal but also on how she is capable of delivering the emotions, the feels needed in every songs she sings. She's not only singing the song she's living the song. And her personality is very much of an old soul. Somebody told that Angelina is like a person who stepped out of an old photograph and I do agree. She's very special, very rare... And one thing... The first ones were NOT what she did on Norways got talent. What made this kid fall in love with this type of music was her grandmother. There is videos of her singing at one and a half, and in the recording studio at 6. Why would you think an 8 year old would be exaggerating? thats dumb. By the time this was recorded she had learnt 3 languages, had a repetoire of hundreds of songs, could play 3 instruments, and was the youngest person to be a published author of a book in Norways history. Her uncle said she was a jazz god at age 5, she started recording in the studio at age 6 and won Norwways got talent at age 8. She is not like your children

There is actually a video of Angelina Jordan at 18 months old singing Whitney Houston's "I Will Always Love You". Agreed, she wasn't pitch perfect at that age. :) However, it shows she already that young had the ability to listen to music trying to replicate the voices she heard. It shows her interest in music started very early. She managed to search out music on KZbin and listened to different music. Then she tried to replicate the songs she liked. Angelina found her way to jazz by herself. Angelina also said she wanted to join Norway Got Talent as early as when she was 5 years old. Her mother said she had to get a little older first and she had to wait until she was 7. Here is video of Angelina being 6 or just turned 7. It's from before she even attended Norway Got Talent. I first discovered Angelina Jordan Astar when she first participated in Norway's got talent 2014, when she was 7 and 8 years old. I still remember that I was shocked in a positive way, and I have ever since that time been a fan. A fan of a child. I wouldn't believed it if you had asked me 10 years ago. I have never been interested in the jazz music genre , but Angelina's interpretations of old jazz music classics has "opened my eyes" for that kind of music for sure, and in a way "touched me". Great reaction. You guys are in for quite a ride with this amazing young woman. Unlike the other talented young singers, Angelina has a very extensive catalog of songs (over 100) that will keep you busy for quite some time. Enjoy the journey. She is one of the very best on the planet. In addition to beginning with her roots on Norway's Got Talent, "I Put a Spell On You" is a must for one of your early reviews. Changing gears, unless I have missed it, another talented young artist that you may want to review is Grace Vanderwaal. She was winner of America's Got Talent 2016 (season 11). She has written about 30 original songs, and has done some incredible covers, often better than the original.

I suggest you listen to her first "viral" performance, " Gloomy Sunday" when she was 7 (kzbin.info/www/bejne/qHqZi5uIoJ1pftU), and a fairly recent stunning masterpiece "Wicked Game" (kzbin.info/www/bejne/op-mk5aXbr-IeJo) now that she is 13. There are only 100+ other songs by her on KZbin to fit in between; keep you busy for months. Don't stereotype her, though; just when you think you know her "genre" she will blow you away with something completely different.

Currently 2022, Angelina is 6 feet tall, always barefoot for performing, sews her own clothes and has the most gorgeous voice in the artistry world of music. She has done most if not all of her own arrangements since the age of 8 years old❗ I see nothing other than greatness in her future 🤗

She has several versions of both this song and of Summertime ( the one she sang in the final of NGT). She is a true jazz artist, but she handles more "modern" song just as well. Every perforemans of her are flooded whit emotions, and reaches right into the heart and soul of who ever listen. Just amaysing and realy adorabole. A real treet to see your reaction. Prodigies are too young to had time to learn... but they know. Angelina is in the Top 5 prodigies. She appeared at 7 years old at NGT. Her most amazing performance (considering her age, 9 years old) is "I put a spell on you". just a little tid bit of information regarding your comment about having to learn how to sing that style of music. When Natalie Cole went back into this kind of music (the time she did the Duet with her father on the screen) she had talked about having to relearn how to sing this type of music and she was an outstanding vocalist with years of singing under her belt.That is what just blows me away about Angelina..it is what makes her so unique. She is singing music that is far more difficult to sing. You really have to have a musical background to understand her gift. She is not copying a singer, she is performing these songs with her own interpretation, with feeling and with her own style already (8 years old). She just has IT. Amazing

There is actually video of her singing karaoke at about 1-1/2 years old, trying to at least, she does sound like a child singing but it is clear she had an innate desire to be a singer early on.
