Loved your reaction to the concert. Looks like you were in the perfect spot to record the Concert. The sound and Picture Quality you got was really good. What a lot of Angels/Fans do now with the recordings , and snippets of the concerts they attended of Angelina. They send them to James Thiel. I attended the concert. It was a fantastic concert. I truly respect Angelina as an artist, I agree when you when Angelina performed jazz numbers. You are transported to another time. It’s magic . Her band and guests artist were fantastic. I highly recommend that you hear her live.

Ahhhhhh Nina, I am sooooooo happy for you and I am a tad bit jealous, okay alot of jealousy 😊 that you saw Angelina. I enjoy watching only a few reactors to Angelina songs on KZbin. That would be you and Aaron. That's it. I have been watching you tube video's of Angelina for awhile now. I live in the SF Bay Area and this is the second time I missed Angelina. Las Vegas and now Glendale. I had Spinal Cord Surgery back in May, having Neurological problems, barely able to walk and let's throw in some Cognitive Brain Disorder. I don't ever want to forget her. My life partner promised me she would always make sure I hear her music. I just turned 60 on September 10th. This voice of Angelina had to been AMAZING to "hear" and see in person. I'm so happy for you and am looking forward to meeting you one day, crossing fingers. You have one of the BEST reactions to Angelina, that's why I am not going anywhere. Her vocal versatility is astounding ! Her Billie Holiday foundational roots are always heard and when you realize she has not only mastered all the inventive elements from Billie, who was the most improvisational 'Jazz' singer of all time, but has applied her own improvisational facets of musicality. Add in her huge range, as well as 'breathy', Billie style releases and power on an astronomical level whenever she desires, makes her a 'one off' that can't be duplicated by any other singer.

Nina, it was great meeting you after the show, and I’m so happy you felt the love that we all have for Angelina. Yes, it was epic! I had a front row seat, directly in front of Angelina. To be honest, all my focus was on her. I will have to watch the videos when they come out to experience the full “stage show”. But most of the sound I heard was Angelina’s voice, which I am still hearing echoing in my head. You didn’t mention it in your review, but my favorite Angelina song remains “Million Miles”. I don’t know how she can sing that live on stage without breaking down in tears. I cry EVERY time! Thanks for a great recap of the show! And I hope to see you at another one!

Awesome and I met you there briefly, when entering the venue at the security gate. I was right behind you and just said hi, and you acknowledged politely. I didn't continue the talk for you were accompanied and I didn't want to feel like I was being Intrusive even though I was so glad to see you in person! Never realized how tall you were, but very attractive, videos don't do you justice. The evening was a lifetime experience and filled an item on my bucket list. You really can't truly put the experience in words and how she brings people together with so much love is actually Mind Blowing. Nina, thank you for sharing your insights from your unique perspective. You mentioned the warm living room family-like atmosphere. Angelina set it up that way because she's really beginning to realize the uniqueness of her Angels. We are not a group who are going to be reacting to her songs in any type of over-the-top way. Our appreciation for her in her concerts is a deep warmth, admiration and love for AJ. She won't hear tremendous roars from us, but of course she is so adept at feeling what we are feeling. And I think that is what really matters to her. That is the support that she has told us she bathes in and that keeps her going.

It was a joy to talk with you for a few moments at the meet and greet as we were climbing the stairs to be with Angelina. This was my first AJ concert and a splurge flying from North Carolina, but, at my age, you never know where life will take you and I simply love Angelina Jordan not only for her extraordinary technique and voice but her ability to reach us in such a poignant and powerful way (good power). It was a pleasure to meet you (just before you got your shirt), love your accent and cheering attitude. I agree with your summary of the concert, the only thing I would add… the performers had a blast playing together and it was palpable. They had fun playing which made it even more enjoyable listening. Nina, I enjoy listening to vocal coaches/trained vocalists analysis of Angelina Jordan and other talented singers. Thank you for reviewing this show. I was at the show and recognized you from the row behind me. People were very excited to see you. I am glad this video popped up on my feed. She did play an expansive set list of classic covers and originals. She sang many more songs than I anticipated. Her vocals were spot on for most of the evening. There was such a magical feeling between the audience and stage. She is truly grateful for her fans. She might have overdone it a bit expressing this. But it was very heartfelt. I am so glad I had the opportunity to see this show at this stage of her career in such an intimate venue as the alex theater. This theater was a perfect choice, as I feel her style is a throwback to an earlier time just like the alex theater is. I really enjoyed the band as well. It was interesting to hear the contrast of her live performance versus studio. It is also great to see her voice continuing to evolve. I wish I would have written down her set list. Perhaps you can provide that in the comments or a future video.

What a wonderful review. I was two rows in front of you a little to the left and saw you but didn’t say hi. The first thing I noticed that struck me was how young she is and the other thing that is just overwhelming is KZbin does nothing to showcase how amazing her vocals Are. I,I believe Alan Walker said that she’s even better live and he was spot on and that was the biggest treat and to think she has so much more time. She definitely does so well with Valerie and Etta James songs she could put on I agree a whole concert of jazz jazz And rhythm and blues and I’d go see that in a heartbeat. The environment was really inviting and intimate. A lot of big stars like to perform in smaller venues. I sure enjoyed her and my brother who liked her is now a big fan. I hope she’s happier now and those rough years Are behind her as that broke my heart we feel so protective of this special angel with a voice out of this world. Nina - I needed to add something after noting your mention of how impressed you were by her ability to sing around 25 songs in the show. The actor Van Johnson told a story of how he was invited, with many other Hollywood personalities, to Judy Garland's home for a casual evening. Judy went on to sing song after song, nonstop, throughout the evening, past the night, and into the morning. He said that even though he and many others couldn't leave this 'once in a lifetime' event, even though they would be expected at the studio in the morning for a full day of work, tells you all that anyone needs to know about how special this experience was. In her own way, I get the feeling that Angelina emulated a similar experience for all that attended.

Great review Nina. We can tell how much you really enjoyed the show. I know exactly what you mean about the warm atmosphere. As some have said, we all feel like part of Angelina’s family because of video we see online. Mother Sara is such a kind sweet person. Saw Uncle Mike at the Merch table. Great to see Grandma Mery. We sat a few rows behind sister Juliette and her friends. Small venues like this are perfect for Angelina and this togetherness but of course if she becomes more popular, eventually they would need to book larger locations. Hopefully the closeness can still remain. She performed 21 songs which is a good set length. Even more impressive, and I’m sure more tiring, was in Vegas where she performed back to back shows of 19 songs each with only about an hour between shows. I was at the Vegas show but I think Friday’s show was even better. I really hope Bad Valentine gets the notice it deserves. I’m not sure what the plans are for promotion but I think it has the potential to reach a younger audience too. I thought Old Enough did but it really wasn’t promoted at all although Love Don’t Let Me Go has become fairly popular internationally (not much in US). Thanks again for your review.

As you mentioned, there was Scott Hoying from Pentatonix, Jimmy Z playing harmonica and sax, and Toby Gad himself on keyboard. What you may have not known was that Rob Christie, the studio director of Republic Records (the studio she is signed with), a Grammy winner himself, and who appeared in a number of music videos with Angelina playing piano, was on stage at times playing the acoustic guitar. The band is a bit different than the one in Vegas. David Hartmann, a guitarist, was not at this concert due to another commitment and a few others did not return. Also, one of the backup singers was different. Ameera Perkins replaced Chechi Sarai, who was a contestant on The Voice Season 24. The male backup singer is the same person who performed in Vegas. His name is Eric Lyn, who was a contestant on The Voice Season 13.

Regarding her comfort on stage, I think she’s always been comfortable when she’s singing, even as a little girl. It’s the moments between songs that she is becoming more relaxed and comfortable with. When she was a young girl she probably didn’t say much between songs. When she was on AGT she didn’t have to say much except answer questions. Then the pandemic hit and she finally had live performances in Norway in 2022. That was probably the first time she actually had to talk a lot to the audience and she seemed a little unsure of what to say at times. I think her next show was a year ago in New Hampshire, then Vegas and then Glendale. She still has a tendency to repeat herself but she is getting much better, plus she’s still a teenager, and not one who has been on Disney TV shows since age 12 like some pop stars.

Hi Nina. First of all, great video. I loved it. Your enthusiasm and your body language in externating what you felt in seeing Angelina live for the first time is heart warming. What I particularly appreciated is that you didn't wasted time on larynx or tongue position or any other vocal technicalities (beeing a talented professional yourself you could have done it and better than many reactors I've watched on Utube). I always love your reactions and I'm so glad that you got to see Angelina live in Glendale. I was there and saw you talking with other angels in the theater, but unfortunately I didn't get to meet you in person. However, I did get to meet Sara & Juliette in person and that was a thrill. I agree with everything you said about the warmth of the concert and how fantastic Angelina sounds live. I also got to see her in Vegas, which was another thrill. I was also there at the concert! I said the EXACT same thing, it felt like we were just all invited to Angelina’s house and she was singing to us in her living room.
