It's important to understand the context of this song, as explained in other comments - it's quite personal to AJ, about overcoming betrayal by her father/stepfather (we don't know which it is).....but also very relatable by others. Angelina is a brilliant songwriter in addition to her God-given and honed-over-a-decade vocal talent. AND as here she nearly always finds a way in her lyrics to convey a positive empowering message even when dealing with heartache and adversity.

Thank You for your reaction Lucie. Angelina has the ability to transition from low to high octave effortlessly. This song has a very Reggae vibe which is generally happy song,but this is all about out the massive betrayal she felt when her father walked away from her because of a divorce, but it made her a better person. She explained this before the song. Unfortunately, this part is somehow missing from the video.❤❤👣❤❤

As others have said she wrote this song about her father who is no longer in her life. Her parents recently divorced. She debuted this song at her recent LA concert. Before she sang she talked about the background of the song and about betrayal. I was there and although she didn’t mention her father a lot of us assumed it was about him. Some fans that spoke with Angelina’s mom at the show said that she confirmed that the song was about Angelina’s dad.
