One of the most beautiful melodies I have ever heard. Angelina wrote the lyrics after her maternal grandfather passed away in 2019. While much of the song is sad, Angelina emphasizes hope by reminding us that we are never alone. I still tear up each time when listening to this masterpiece.

Yes, this is a song that helped many of us, after loosing someone. Now today july 6th 2022 Angelina Jordan is a fully professional vocalist, standing on the stages of Norway and later on in Japan, also visiting relatives in both countries. In Sandefjord, she was so happy, she cried on stage, giggled, laughed. Things I never had seen her do to that extend. After Japan someone informed us she will be back in the states, bringing her album out and doing the things to advertise her work and herself, Radio-shows, TV-shows and so on. We will be with her. I can understand why you wouldn’t want to show tears on the channel. Listening (privately) to such songs to find comfort, release and feel relief. I feel this song to the core especially in this version: her ability to convey emotion with her singing is incredible. There is video version which shows the story more and lyrics version where you can read the story. All there are great in their own way. Another great original is 7th Heaven. It is more upbeat classic jazz vibe song. I think you will love it.

This ends abruptly and doesn't resolve.. both serve as musical manifestations of the "loss" that the story describes. More Angelina genius, I think. Other originals from her you need to see are "7th Heaven", "Shield", and from her younger years "Oslo", and "What is Life". All good.

"What Is Life" next? Totally written by her (I mean, she alone wrote the words and composed the music). The "Acoustic" version on her Official channel (posted when she was 12) is by far the most popular one, but you can also check out the "Lyric Video", which uses the album track she recorded (at 11) with The Staff Band of the Norwegian Armed Forces [Forsvarets Stabsmusikkorps]. The two versions feel _very_ different because of the radically different musical arrangements. And her lyrics are fascinating, as they start out very simple and "obvious", so to speak, and then quickly become much more profound and surprising. (They also seem to allude to several other songs, possibly some old blues and/or folk traditions, and I don't know what else. It would be really interesting to hear her talk about where all the ideas in the song came from [whether from specific sources or not].)

Great reaction and show of respect to Angelina and her skills! The "abrupt ending", I believe, is an intentional part of the arrangement. To me, it is symbolic of the brevity & uncertainty of life coupled with the abruptness of death when, almost always, we least expect it. It's a beautiful song, but I agree about the ending. I stan her boppin' original 7th Heaven. I recommend the official studio version; it just feels a little tighter to me somehow, but the music & lyric videos are good as well.
