In retrospect, her longevity may have been enhanced my her not winning AGT. LET'S choose to believe that a greater spirit's hand was guiding all of us around something that was beyond Angelina's OR our control. We are all still "flying to a moon" illuminated with her grace and singing.

Mr. Wolf Rock, Angelina does so well with just an acoustic guitar accompaniment or just piano; however she wants to arrange the session. I believe i heard you comment once that you would like to her her sing accompanied by horns and such, which she did in "I put A Spell On You." The difference in the vocals, for me, is in the texture of the two voices. Lana's voice is excellent, but she feels to my uneducated ears to have, at best, three layers to the texture of her voice. Angelina, on the other hand, seems to have seven or eight layers. Then, to top it all off, she does such a seamless, perfectly controlled job of combining all of those layers into such a beautiful blend of harmonics, mellissmas, vowel drags, vibratos, vocal fry and all the rest that it's easy to get distracted from how marvelous each element is and instead simply get lost in the perfection of the whole. It's the reason I can listen to any of her songs over and over again, and each time catch some new little wrinkle that has gone so far unnoticed. Thanks for another nice reaction to our angel. She nailed this in my head and there it is and stay! We have to be careful when we listen to a cover by Angelina not to put down the original singer in order to lift her up. First, Angelina doesn t need our negative comments to be who she is. She is not the best because the original is not. Second, it must be hurtful to Angelina when she reads our comments putting down her idols. If she sings in honor of someone, it becomes a tribute. And we would put down the one that Angelina put on a pedestal? Let us honor Angelina by mentioning her qualities and by finding at the same time qualities that posseses the singer Angelina is attracted to and learning from.

I must say that the three of them brought way more to the singing style needed for that song than what young Angelina did with it. But, most of the time, when that song haunts my brain too much, i listen to Angelina s. You know why? I m glad you ask! See, i love Angelina, first and foremost, for who she is. So, in the end, i choose to be with her because she is my kindred spirit (my mirror, showing me who i am), while the famous mature singers deserve only my admiration; i do not have a personal relationship with them, so i stay away. Same thing for I m a Fool to Want You. Angelina is inspired by Billie Holiday for that song, more than by Sinatra, obviously. According to Wikipedia, more than 210 singers have recorded that song. To be in a position to say that young Angelina is the best among all of them to sing that song would be ludicrous, would you say? There exist true fans in her fan base, but some, you would agree with me, are fanatics! That being said, who do you think i listen to, among all of them, when it is time to recharge my emotional battery? Yes, you guess it right again: to my little tall sister. I try not to go blindly in my choices, my tastes, my preferences, and so on. But where would i land if i were guided only by my emotions: in the four corners of the earth, wherever the winds blow. I choose love, which is not a feeling nor a sentiment, but a decision. Love radiates acceptance of each other. The day i would have decided to not love her anymore would have been the day i betrayed her and died to myself, the day she sang in my house If you go away uselessly because i ceased to see myself in her eyes.

OK, I just listened to Lana Del Rey singing it, and although she was very good, to me, there was something missing. Maybe I was just spoiled by hearing Angelina singing it first. I've always felt that when Angelina sings ANY song, the song enters her and whispers, "OK, show them how I was really meant to be sung." She just adds that magic that, as Howie said, is hypnotic and draws you in, and nothing else around you matters. Anyway, great reaction! Oh, by the way. This is the same way I feel about her cover of Amy Winehouse's cover of "Valerie". Angelina just did it SO much better.
