“Best known artists” and yet still unknown by the majority of the population. I think the problem is “the music industry” has become so fragmented. Back in the day, we all listened to the same music on the radio. Oh sure, there were “easy listening”, and “oldies”, and “country”, and “rock” stations, but that was about how fragmented it got. Today, everyone listens to their own play list. Which can keep you from discovering new artists and genres. I don’t know what it will take for Angelina to become a household name, but she’s so good I’m sure it will happen eventually. I think her association with Toby Gad will help. Meanwhile, I’m enjoying her music as it happens!

Next song you should do is AGT “bohemian rhapsody” age 13, then maybe “I’m still holding out for you” age 10, “I’m a fool to love you” at age 11, “I’d rather go blind” age 13. If you join all of us from around the world on her journey it will be an experience you will never be able to imagine. Btw, she helped rearrange the music for the band and improvised the original lyrics to make them appropriate for her to sing. She has been doing lots of artistic work with her music since she was 7 and people in the industry are in total awe of what she can do at such an early age. Loved your reaction. Millions of people already know her but she's been somewhat protected through her early years so that she could continue with her education and live life as much as possible as a normal young girl. I'm 70, from a musical family over several generations, and can honestly say that AJ is one of the best singers I have ever come across. Her ability to communicate the emotion of almost any song she takes on is legendary. Keep in mind, Angelina is 9yr 2m old here; she WROTE this arrangement, hence the notes to the band leader earlier in the video (the group called her "The Boss"); English is not her native tongue (but she can also speak Norwegian, Farsi and Japanese); she entered "Norway's Got Talent" at age seven, although she had her 8th birthday just before she won the show; she is also Norway's youngest ever published author. She has been singing at live concerts, on TV shows worldwide, and recorded her first album (which made the jazz charts in some countries) at age 11! I could go on for another few thousand words, but instead I've subscribed, and am simply going to enjoy watching you guys get shocked as you hear more.

Well, welcome to the AJ Rabbit Hole! You are going to be bombarded by her fans called Angels that will fill you in on this music prodigy with an old soul from Norway. She's basically been a star since she was 7 years old. First and foremost, she is a jazz singer but has the ability to sing any genre. She also does all of her own musical arrangements. Even though she has been compared by many to Amy Winehouse, her major influence is Billie Holiday. Other influences are Dinah Washington, Louis Armstrong, Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley, Etta James, Whitney Houston, and Adele to name a few. Her love of jazz came from her grandmother playing jazz music around her when she was young. In 2014, she entered at age 7 and won Norway's Got Talent at the age of 8. With her new found fame, she used it to appear on many shows from abroad and help raise millions for the less fortunate children around the world. At age 13, she was invited to participate on America's Got Talent: The Champions in 2020. She shocked the audience and the judges with her rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen. She received a standing ovation from all and got the Golden Buzzer from judge Heidi Klum to go straight to the Finals. Her performance went viral and even the group Queen responded on Twitter by saying, "Wow, what a rendition!" For Queen to respond to someone covering one of their songs is quite a feat since they rarely react to anyone. She did not win, but her fan base grew and expanded her popularity. Now 18 years old, living in Los Angeles, and currently signed with Republic Records, whose clients include Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, The Weeknd, and Drake to name a few. Her family and Republic Records had agreed not to heavily promote her just yet so she can live as normal of a life as possible and finish her schooling. From what we know, she is finally done with school. She had a single that came out May 5th called Love Don't Let Me Go, a new EP called Old Enough that came out Friday, July 21st, 2023, a newly released video of her new song called Now I'm The Fool, and a new album of original music which will be coming out some time this year. Angelina released her new single, Our Time, and is fantastic! She returned back to Norway and performed at a number of sold out concerts in which fans from around the world came to see her. Many of the fans there said she sounded better live in person and was a once in a lifetime experience. On September 22, 2023, Angelina had her first U.S. concert that sold out in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. On December 11, 2023, she was asked to come back and perform at the Nobel Peace Prize Concert. She first performed at this prestigious event in 2014 when she was 8. On Feb.29th, 2024, she performed 2 shows on one night at the Westgate Las Vegas Resort and Casino. A film crew followed her and created a documentary of her called Angelina Jordan: 10 Years In The Making which premiered on her official KZbin channel on March 29th, 2024. Currently, she is working with 3 time Grammy winner songwriter/producer Toby Gad creating new original music for her to sing. Gad has co-wrote and produced such big hits like All Of Me by John Legend, Big Girls Don't Cry by Fergie, If I Were A Boy by Beyonce, and Skyscraper by Demi Lovato and a number of others. Her fans call her The Barefoot Princess. She always performs with no shoes when she sings. Why? The reason is very special. When she was 6 years old, she was traveling with her family in Iran where she met a poor shoeless girl in the streets that was about her age. She made money by weighing people. After speaking with her for a few minutes, Angelina noticed the scars on the girl's feet and asked the girl what her dream is. The girl said she wanted to be a doctor but she couldn't because she had to make money for her family. Angelina did what came natural to her, she gave the little girl her shoes and told her to not give up on her dreams. The girl then asked Angelina what her dreams were, Angelina answered that she wanted to sing for the whole world, and the girl said she would pray for her success. Since then, Angelina has performed barefoot in honor of that little girl and to those who are less fortunate around the world. She keeps this promise to this day. 🤗 That was a cool reaction thanks. 18 now, this vid took over a year to get to youtube. It's now just over nine years ago when she was in studio, and the youtube years will add one soon. If you want to "see where she's going with her originals now". She had an EP out last year, Old Enough. 6 songs, 2 singles before that at 14/15, since she signed with her label, Republic Records UMG. Also a newly and approved sneak peak at the next one, Bad Valentine, we got 2 months ago, so you can really see what she's like super recent. People can react to it and do. However, keep in mind this a crazy skillset and even us superfans do not know where she is. This is gonna take albums and albums. This is a Mariah Carey, Xtina, Amy, Adele skillset all in one somehow. So any song won't show you "where she is now". All I know is her storytelling and artistry is somehow keeping up with her mad skills she's developing, and she feels poised to put it together and quite literally be the best in the world.

Angelina has been writing songs since she was 10 years old (or even younger) - So far 12 have been released: Oslo, What is Life?, Shield, Million Miles, 7th Heaven, Love Don't Let Me Go, Now I'm The Fool, Fire and Rain, All My Fault, Good in Goodbyes, Diamond, and Our Time. Angelina has stated that she has written about 100 songs that have yet to be released. Her songs are taken from her Journal writings. When she was 10/11 she rewrote the Lyrics to Amy Winehouse's Back to Black and Rehab to make them more age appropriate at that time. In addition, Angelina performed an unreleased original song Princess of Ruins at her Las Vegas concerts - if and when that is officially released it will be her 13th original. Also, Angelina has partnered up with Toby Gad to write even more new music - the first one that has been announced is Bad Valentine.

Norwegian born Angelina Jordan began singing at the age of one and a half, and by age three was listening to jazz and classics legends on repeat. This performance was recorded about March 2015 when she was 9 but wasn’t posted until September 2016 so that can through some people off regarding her age. She and her family moved to Los Angeles in 2018 when she was 12. If you want to hear her today, the most recent song would be a live performance of Bad Valentine. Angelina was 9 years old in this performance - Her nationality is Norwegian but is fluent in English even at this age - This song was not arranged for her - she wrote the vocal arrangement based on listening to the original Screamin' Jay Hawkins version and communicated to the band how she wanted it to be played - in fact, at the beginning of the video you see Angelina writing down some last-minute changes and it is read by the bandleader. You also notice that her own handwritten notes are on the music stand in front of her as she sings. For more insight into how Angelina works, here is a rehearsal video with some of the same band members at the same age (9 yrs old) - You will see that she is aware of what each musician is doing and communicates to them what she wants to do. It is her original she wrote with Toby Gad Performed at a Cafe in LA in March of this year at age 18 following her Headlining performance in Las Vegas in February! In this performance she is forced to wear shoes due to health regulations that control restaurants! From when she was 7, you’ll love her music! She’s been brilliant at all stages, so be sure to not skip a stage, although you could just get a taste of each. ( Although she’s like potato chips, you’ll probably not be able to stop at just one!) But there isn’t an ordinary rendition among them, and she’s always done her own arrangements. Got to say- you nailed it when you said that she doesn’t have to manufacture big moments, she never tries to show off her own voice, but only reveal the true intentions and meanings of a song. Simply put: she's incredible. Absolutely incredible. One of the most versatile singers ever, I would say. Not that she can do everything that other singers can (for example, she can't sing as high as Mariah Carey or as low as Diana Ankudinova), but I don't know of any other singer who can sing in all the different ways that she can, and sound as good doing it. In this particular cover, her vocal arrangement was directly inspired by that of the original artist, Screamin' Jay Hawkins (especially how he was performing the song live in the early 1990s, examples of which can be found on YT and probably served as "source material" for her version). There are other covers of the song that take it in very different directions - and some of them are quite good - but among covers that stick with Hawkins' approach, hers is by far the most "convincing", IMO. Not bad for a 9-year-old girl. She did similar things with (say) "What a Difference a Day Makes" when she was 8 (on the TV show _Allsang på Grensen_ ), "Feeling Good" when she was 10 (on a live, charity-related TV special called _The Stream Gir Tilbake_ ), and "Cry Me a River" at 11 (in a solo concert at a yearly event called Prøysenfestivalen). If you had told me 11 years ago (just before Angelina came to the world's attention) that an elementary school student from Norway was going to deliver "the definitive versions" of these classic songs, I wouldn't have believed it was possible. "The screamy screech thing" is a sound made on breathing in. She must have had an instinctive understanding of this "trick", because she seemed to have forgot how reproduce it at another performance a couple of years later. Not a criticism, she is exceptional!

I was searching for trailers for the movie “Elvis” when I kept seeing the name Angelina Jordan everywhere, and found the only human being that can sing “Love Me Tender” better than he can, and she was 12 years old! Jordan is the only singer I’ll listen to sing covers of his songs, and she always sings them in the same key as Elvis.

Hi guys, nice that you took a little peek into Angelina's rabbit hole. she was 9 years old when she sang this song, she arranged it herself based on the original by Screaming Jay Hawkins from 1956. She won Norway's Got Talent at the age of 8 with songs by Billie Holiday, Nancy Sinatra, and the song Summertime from the film Porky and Bess You are just at the beginning and I hope that you will continue on the journey because there is a lot to discover, she is the best singer in the world, in my opinion), but you will find out for yourself and believe me, you will be as addicted to her voice as all the other fans (Angels), she is also called the barefoot angel with 1000 voices, why she always performs barefoot is another story, she can adapt and improve her voice to any song and also convey a lot of emotions and she has not only written around 200 covers but also 14 originals by herself and 2 written for her, all of which are amazing and even legendary now and there is a lot to tell, I look forward to further reactions and have now subscribed to you, greetings from Germany, by the way she is now 18 years old.
