In the 6 years since I discovered Angelina, I have watched thousands of reactions to her music & my favorite reactions are by vocal coaches because the more you know about music, the more you are impressed by this vocal master. You are one of many vocal coaches that were moved to tears the 1st time they heard her. She started out as a jazz artist, but has expanded her mastery of many genres of music over her decade of public performances. She started listening to music around 18 months on YT & is self taught, with no official vocal coach to date. Her main influence was Billie Holiday, followed by Ella Fitzgerald, Aretha Franklin, Whitney Houston, Amy Winehouse & Adele. Now at 18, her vocal skills are up there with the best in the World, but where she leaves everyone else behind is her ability to emote the lyrics to where you believe & feel everything she sings. The way she re-arranges classic, iconic songs in a totally different way than the original version, like Bohemian Rhapsody, is a skill that blows my mind. She got praise from rest Queen giving her the copyright for her version. She sings barefoot since she befriended a poor girl without parents. They exchanged their dreams. Angelina wanted to give this girl hope and gave her favorite shoes to her. After that she promised to perform barefoot on stage and the girl promised to pray for her. She will keep this promise to remind the world of the less fortunate ones. She even write a song about it "Princess of Ruins" only performed at concert at Westgate 29.02 2024 in Las Vegas. I already see "I put a spell on you" is recommended and do the black/white version. A good pick for next song. Love from a Norwegian subscriber hoping for more Angelina. She got nr 6 in AGT because top 4 got Simon contract and she wanted freedom and signed Republic records where she got it. They even gave her her own studio! Yaay Angelina! Beside Diana my other favourite! Hardcore fans will flood here and write smart things, all i know when she sings i start to cry from joy. From the beauty. Somehow her runs, melismas, the way she decorates the sounds makes sense to me and feel natural, while with others it bothers me and feels inserted, out of place. It's hard to explain why. I suppose it's done tastefully. Heard once someone said something like her runs are like the one they did in the 70s, whatever that means :) Something like during slides melismas hitting notes separately and connecting them. I don't know. It just works. Pure angelic girl, with soulful singing every single time. She is always barefoot, called barefoot princess sometimes by fans, once as a young girl she met another girl who had no shoe and she give hers to her... But i'm also pretty sure it's part of the mood, the feel of being natural despite the setting, feeling the floor, the energy, having ancor to use.. At 1 1/2 mom Sara hands Jordan her mic and she begins to sing. Grandma Mery listens to Jazz and Angelina watches Jazz videos on KZbin with her and loves it. She starts singing and practicing 4-6 hours a day every day, seven days a week, fifty two weeks a year and teaches herself how to sing by watching the KZbin videos. In elementary school she enrolls in an after school music program, where she is taught how to read, deconstruct and rearrange music and to play the piano and the guitar, which she still play to this day. The only vocal lessons she has had are on how to protect her vocal cords. So, by the time she was on AGT, on which Heidi Klum gave her the golden buzzer, she’d already been singing all over the world, and practicing 4-6 hours a day for almost ten years. At 17, she sang Unchained Melody at the Nobel Peace Prize Awards last December. You should listen to that very soon. I was watching your eyes and I immediately knew you were on a higher level of consciousness when they started tearing up after only one or two notes. Can’t wait for you to hear the most emotional version of Unchained Melody in existence, also the most beautiful!

👣Thank you Dounia, for sharing my tears. Even as this is whatever hundreds of times I listen to this performance, I still tear up, as I also does to so many of Angelina`s songs. She reach to my heart and soul whenever she sings, and blows my mind. Even as a guy enjoying my 69th summer this year, I love the way she pull out tears from my eyes by her wonderful music. Gloomy Sunday, her 2013 audition to Norway's Got Talent, when she was 7, which was aired in 2014 and then immediatly went viral. 2. Fly Me to the Moon, live on The View, was her US debut later in 2014, and also went viral. It gathered more than 37 Million views on KZbin, and many more on Facebook. 3. I Put a Spell On You, the song where Screamin' Jay Hawkins got his nickname from, has 11 Million Views so far. Her cover is closer to his original than most well known covers of it. She was 9 years old here. 4. Feeling Good, in a version sung on TV late in 2016 while still being 10 years old, though she already started to perform the song in public about a year earlier. 5. A Million Years Ago, one of 13 Adele covers she did, as an impressive acoustic home studio recording. 6. Shield, from 2018, was the third original she relased that year at 12 years old. Why does Angelina sing barefoot? The answer may bring a tear to your eye. It is related to a promise she made to herself and to the world when she was only 6 years old. She was traveling in the Middle East with her mom and grandmother and they came across a young orphan girl with no shoes and scarred feet. Angelina gave the girl her own favorite shoes. Angelina ask the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and she said a doctor, but she could not because she had to take care of her siblings. She asked Angelina the same question and Angelina said I want to sing for the world. The young girl said she would pray for Angelina. Since then, Angelia has forever performed barefoot as a reminder of all those less fortunate. At age 9 she wrote a book about this experience, Between two Hearts, becoming the youngest ever published author in Norway. She also has helped raise millions for children's charities. She even stated at 8 years old that she would be donating her winnings from Norway's Got Talent to charities. She is a special individual, and one you cannot follow without developing an emotional bond.

For everyone who doesn't know yet: Not only did Angelina get the golden buzzer from judge Heidi Klum, but she also received huge praise from the remaining members of the legendary Queen. Queen were delighted with Angelina's arrengement and shared it on Twitter with the words "WOW, what a rendition" (three years later they repeated their praise on TT in March 27th 2023 with the words "absolutely killed it".) What was unfortunately not to be seen here, all four judges came on stage to congratulate Angelina (very rarely). 👣💯 *AJ* 💯👣 BTW, Angelina released her version of Bohemian Rhapsody with permission from Queen on January 24th, 2020 under her own label ANGELINA JORDAN INC. shortly after Angelina celebrated her 14th birthday. Angelina is 18 now and signed with Republic Records at 14. Republic built her a studio and Angelina has told us she has written more than 100 songs. We have been blessed with 14 to date. Her wise and loving family continues to slow walk her career. No reason to rush greatness. "What is Life" first sung at age 11. We don't know how old she was when she wrote each song. Angelina was begging her mother to go on "that Simon show" when she was 3 yrs old. encouraged to sing children songs, she would have none of that. Angelina chooses her own songs and she is absolutely fearless. No song is too big and no artist is too Iconic. All the most Iconic songs by the most Iconic singers in music history. The only things which exceed Angelina's musical talents are her humility and empathy. *Why Angelina always performs barefoot* At age 6, while traveling in the Middle East with her mother and grandmother, Angelina noticed a girl around her age standing on the side of the road, asking people to step on her bathroom scale to be weighed in hopes of getting some money. Angelina took off her shoes so as to not get the scale dirty and stepped on the scale many times to make the girl feel better. Angelina befriends the girl who was not wearing shoes and has scars on her feet, and learns she is an orphan. The orphan girl tells Angelina how beautiful she thinks her shoes are. Angelina says her shoes don’t fit her well and she wants to give her shoes to the orphan girl who thanks Angelina for giving her the shoes. Angelina asked the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and the girl replied, “I want to become a doctor, but that will never happen since I have no parents and I have siblings so I have to do whatever is necessary for us to survive.” Angelina told the girl to never give up on her dreams. The poor girl asked Angelina what she wanted to be when she grew up and Angelina replied that she wanted to sing for the whole world. The poor girl said she would pray every day so Angelina’s dream would come true. Angelina never learned the orphan's name but called her Princess. The orphan girl replied, "princesses live in castles, we live in ruins". Angelina titled her song about this story, "Princess of Ruins". Angelina still says she thinks of that homeless girl every day and has always performed barefoot to remind her of all the children who are less fortunate. At age 9, she became the youngest published author in Norway’s history by writing a book about this encounter in the Middle East. She won Norway's Got Talent at the age of 8 with songs by Billie Holiday, Nancy Sinatra, and the song Summertime from the film Porky and Bess. Many people have cried when they heard this. She starts with no accompaniment at all, and joins the instruments right on target. Hard to do. She doesn't need anything to prop up that voice. The arrangement is genius. And so is the execution. Her cover of The Show Must Go On has more of Queen's power. She got the Golden Buzzer. She's barefoot because when she was 6 she met a poor girl on the street of her grandmother's native Iran. So they were probably speaking Farsi. She ended up giving the little girl her beloved green boots and promising to alwasy perform barefooted to remind us that there are poor children all over the world. She went home and wrote in her diary that it was like a stairway to heaven opened in her heart when she did that. She later wrote a best selling children's book about it in her native Norway. She's even more than a vocal genius. All of her many covers--and originals--are worth listenting to. Try I'd Rather Go Blind or Happier or so many others. Her cover of Adele's go easy on my has all of Adele's pain and some anger and frustration that isn't expressed in the original.

You've got a treasure trove of well over 200 videos, concert clips, and television performances to catch up on. From the age of 6 or so to present day (she turned 18 years of age in January) she's been singing and performing. Come on, fall down the rabbit hole with the rest of us! Angelina sings in 5 languages, designs her clothes, and has written a top-rated book called "Mellom to hjerter" (Between Two Hearts)"Norway's youngest published author" a story about why she wears no shoes during her performances, and like her name, she truly is an angel with a heart of gold. Angelina won Norway's Got Talent when her audition for Billy Hollowday's Gloomy Sunday went viral and she got world press she started the competition at 7 years old and won at 8 years old. In her younger years before age 13, she was watched over by her mother (Sara) and her Uncle, Angelina's manager, who just wanted her to grow up normal. I'm always delighted when someone discovers Angelina. I've been following her for four years and can't get enough. She cut her teeth on jazz, Billie Holiday, Dinah Washington, Ella Fitzgerald, you name it. I strongly recommend you listen to her first public performance, Gloomy Sunday, at age 7. If you want to hear how she sounds now, try her latest, Bad Valentine - but fasten your seat-bely because she'll blow you away! Angelina’s specialty is arranging classic songs in a way you never expect. What you hear is 100% Angelina, but complete respect for the original. This coach Dounia is not the only one crying each time we hear lovely Angelina sing. I'm getting pretty old, as an American male, and those who know me probably think I can never cry --- but I can. Angelina's beautiful artistry brings this out for everyone. I've never in my life been so touched by a singer's beauty and artistry.
