After winning NGT at age 8 she became very popular for charity events, entertaining visiting heads of state, and other special events, including a performance at the 2014 Nobel Peace Prize awards and ceremony (as she did, again, in December 2023). KORK and other orchestras and bands in Norway were very pleased to have her on stage with them.

Teddy, briefly 6 year old Angelina encountered an unfortunate girl (7 years old) in the Middle East who had no shoes and her feet were badly bruised and bloody. Angelina was granted permission to speak with the little girl and when the very intense conversation was over Angelina took off her shoes and gave them to the girl. On the way home Angelina gave serious thought to the incident and eventually decided whenever she performed in public she would be barefoot because she never wanted to forget that little girl and also realize there are so many children in the world who are in serious need of help and care. When Angelina was 9 years old she wrote a book about it, 'The Meeting of Two Hearts', and she became the youngest published author in Norway's history. She has a beautiful soul and the comments her angels are sending to you vividly describe 'who she is' and they truly explain to you the reason your heart reacts the way it does when you listen to her sing.

Several Angels would have by now enlightened you on the reason she performs barefoot - it goes much deeper than just being grounded - and about her long standing relationship with KORK (the abbreviation for the Norwegian name of the very highly regarded Norwegian Radio Orchestra). As astounding as are her singing, her voice and her musical talent, you will quickly discover that there is so much more to Angelina, including her kindness, compassion, empathy and humility. One thing you touched on was her attire. Beautiful white dresses were her trademark when she was growing up, and although she has now added some variety to that, she is invariably the picture of elegance, grace and class, both on and off stage. All these superlative qualities have resulted in her Angels (as she calls her fans) being one of the most profoundly devoted and unwaveringly loyal fan bases in existence. The Norwegian Radio Orchestra (Norwegian, Kringkastingsorkestret, abbreviated as KORK) is a very popular orchestra throughout Scandinavia and beyond. Among the artists it is considered an honor and awards to receive an invitation from KORK. Once again, Angelina (10y) proves her musical talent. Regardless of whether it is a capella, acoustic, jazz band or orchestra version, we always experience an amazing Angelina. The conductor's facial expression, his enthusiasm for Angelina's performance says it all. 👣💯 *AJ* 💯👣 Summertime is the title of the most famous aria from the opera Porgy and Bess by George Gershwin (music), Ira Gershwin and DuBose Heyward, which premiered in 1935. Summertime was marketed in isolation as an independent song from this opera and developed into the most-covered jazz and classical standard of all time. 🤗🤗

Her fans call her The Barefoot Princess. She always performs with no shoes when she sings. Why? The reason is very special. When she was 6 years old, she was traveling with her family in Iran where she met a poor shoeless girl in the streets that was about her age. She made money by weighing people. After speaking with her for a few minutes, Angelina noticed the scars on the girl's feet and asked the girl what her dream is. The girl said she wanted to be a doctor but she couldn't because she had to make money for her family. Angelina did what came natural to her, she gave the little girl her shoes and told her to not give up on her dreams. The girl then asked Angelina what her dreams were, Angelina answered that she wanted to sing for the whole world, and the girl said she would pray for her success. Since then, Angelina has performed barefoot in honor of that little girl and to those who are less fortunate around the world. She keeps this promise to this day. One of the reasons why we love her so much!

The orchestra is the famous KORK orchestra, probably the most famous orchestra in Norway (or all of Scandinavia). They have collaborated with Angelina on several occasions, including “Back to Black” the same year of this performance, and nor recently, the Nobel Peace Prize event in Oslo, wher she and they performed “Unchained Melody” together in a breathtakingly beautiful rendition.

Singing barefoot has nothing to do with feeling grounded, she has actually written a book about it called "Between 2 Hearts" when she was 9 yo. It's about her giving her shoes to a homeless orphan in Iran when she was 6 yo. It's to remind herself & others about the plight of poor children around the World & she has raised Millions of $ so far for children's & environmental causes. I'm sure fans on previous reactions have written extensive information about why she sings barefoot, but their comments are usually so long, that you probably didn't read them. Or you can always Google it for a brief explanation. She has sung in concerts an unreleased original song about why she sings barefoot called Princess of Ruins.

Dear Sir, after winning "Norway got Talent 2014" she performed on national TV. I was told by proud Norwegians, that 3 weeks later, the people of Norway declared her THE NATIONAL TREASURE OF NORWAY. Yes I know, this means nothing in the US, BUT in Norway she is adored and respected like a noble woman. Many young Norwegians see her as their hero and role model. The orchestra itself is highly respected in Scandinavia and were proud of their Treasure, she worked many times with them, the last time was in December 2023 for the NOBEL PEACE PRIZE where she arranged her performance with KORK. I love people who like to do them all (or most)! I'd recommend my "Top 10 (or 20, 40) Percent" playlists of hers as guidance. I also have a "Best of the Rest" playlist with remarkable performances, that did not make it to the top lists because of bad audio quality or distractions. A barefoot princess with a hypnotic voice. Angelina Summertime (George Gershwin song) was based on Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong version. There's some 'blue notes' here. The barefoot is part of Angelina's mission to get shoes all kids of this world and she set up a charity for this. When she visited Iran, her grandmothers country of origin, she saw a young girl barefoot begging at the side of the road. Angelina gave the girl her shoes and decided to always perform without shoes. Along with her grandmother, who is a known artist, they wrote and published a book about the incident. It made Angelina the youngest person in Norway to publish a book. Why Angelina always performs barefoot For those who do not know.❤👣 At age 6, while traveling in the Middle East with her mother and grandmother, Angelina noticed a girl around her age standing on the side of the road asking people to step on her bathroom scale to be weighed in hopes of getting some money. Angelina took off her shoes so as to not get the scale dirty and stepped on the scale many times to make the girl feel better. Angelina befriends the girl who was not wearing shoes and has scars on her feet, and learns she is an orphan. The orphan girl tells Angelina how beautiful she thinks her shoes are. Angelina says her shoes don’t fit her well and she wants to give her shoes to the orphan girl who thanks Angelina for giving her the shoes. Angelina asked the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and the girl replied, “I want to become a doctor, but that will never happen since I have no parents and I have siblings so I have to do whatever is necessary for us to survive.” Angelina told the girl to never give up on her dreams. The poor girl asked Angelina what she wanted to be when she grew up and Angelina replied that she wanted to sing for the whole world. The poor girl said she would pray every day so Angelina’s dream would come true. Angelina says she still thinks of that homeless girl every day and has always performed barefoot to remind her of all the children who are less fortunate. At age 9, she became the youngest published author in Norway’s history by writing a book about this encounter in the Middle East. I am going to hazard a guess that you don't read comments as there is no way in the reactions of Angelina you have already done that an Angel has not given you a run down on Angelina's bare feet and most of her life history as well. You know, I aways thought the lyrics to Summertime were describing a Black mother’s hopes and dreams for her Black child….too many women of every race sing the most well-known song from the opera “Porgy and Bess”, “Summertime” with no understanding that George Gershwin wrote it for a Black Women Slave holding a white child telling him/her that “Everything is gonna be alright cause your daddy’s rich and your Mama’s Good Lookin”, while she’s breastfeeding this child and cannot even Feed her own chillun’ have been sold to the plantation owner 100 miles away and she may never see them again. And realizing that it is a bitter pill to swallow and that nothing to be done about it.
