Where you see Angelina's lips moving without singing, she is mouthing to herself, what I believe is the Louis Armstrong part he sings during the song in his duet of the song with the incomparable Ella Fitzgerald. Also, it appears that Angelina sings with much vibrato in this rendition as a tribute to the king himself, Louis Armstrong, as he sang very many songs with lots of vibrato. I say this because in my youth of the late 50's-60's my mom played his music and nobody sounded like he did. Definitely my first remembered exposure to vibrato. If you continue listening to Angelina's songs you will find she rarely sings the same song in the same way, there are many recorded instances. A perfect example is this song itself, which she did with the KORK orchestra. The video is found on Angelina's official KZbin page. And for her low range, you'll be quite stunned, in the first 5 seconds, when she sings her rendition of 'How Great Thou Art' in the same key as Elvis.

She has performed this song numerous times, but here she brings forth a perfectly, arranged, quite simple arrangement that has her vocals penetrating the listener with deep feelings of serenity. Visually, she appears like a little girl who lives on a rich southern plantation and simply sings from the depths of her heart.

Nice reaction Dounia! Sorry about any negative comments that you are receiving from "certain people." Unfortunately, Angelina, like other popular singers, have a small percentage of fans that are a little too harsh and come off too strong with their comments. Then, there are those fans of other singers that purposely go to reaction videos of other singers just to leave negative comments or pretend to be fans of that artist but try to be so negative that the reactor will stop reacting to a particular artist. I know, it's just crazy! As far as this performance is concerned, many have said that she is channeling her favorite and major musical influence, Billie Holiday. If you actually compare this to Billie's version, it's amazing how similar they sound. Even to this day, her singing still uses the jazz techniques she learned very early on. The more videos you react to her, you are going to see the different types of genres she covers and does them very well. Have a nice day!

If you do an Angelina song every week, it will take you four or five years to get through what she’s already done. It’s hard to restrict your listening once you’ve discovered her. Along with many others who watch reactions to Angelina, I listen to her everyday. That’s been going on since just after I first heard her sing 5-6 years ago. I think most of my fellow Angels will agree with me when I say that I really appreciate analysis of Angelina's performances by other singers, vocal coaches, and producers. I know that I love hearing Angelina sing, but you help me understand WHY I love to hear her sing. The little technical details of how she sings that makes it so compelling. We also know that over the years Angelina experiments with new techniques, new styles, new equipment as she developed. Many of her videos have obvious flaws and imperfections. But usually these little flaws only happen once. I don't know of any other artist that has let the entire world watch them grow up. Not just from a little girl to a stunning young woman, but from a child prodigy to a polished professional performer. This is why there are thousands of fans all over the world that think of Angelina as if she were our own granddaughter. We are not just happy to hear her sing, we are intensely proud to see her achieve her lifelong dream. Ignore the trolls. You are well on you're way to being an Angel yourself!

Genuine Angelina fans would welcome honest reviews, especially coming from someone with genuine expertise and knowledge, so don't hesitate to give us your opinions. Angelina seems to have spent a great amount of her early years listening to some of the greatest artists both past and contemporary, studying their techniques, experimenting with them, emulating them and, as she progressed, blending and distilling them, increasingly layering in her own God-given style and genius, into what is now her own absolutely unique, complex and utterly beautiful expression and style. You can often still discern some of the early influences, especially of the likes of Amy Winehouse, Billie Holiday, Adele and others, but her own signature style is now so outstanding that you cannot possibly mistake her for anyone other than the breathtakingly incomparable Angelina Jordan. If so, let me add my two cents for your consideration: 10 years old: Feeling Good "LIVE on The Stream Gir Tilbake" 10 years old: I’m Still Holding Out For You. A Baby Fuzz cover that was never released. My understanding is that it was given to AJ initially but her mother wouldn’t let her do it because of the lines at the end that might be interpreted as a reference to suicide. Then someone leaked the audio. It is a hauntingly beautiful rendition that many think is among her best. It is a remarkable contribution for a 10 year old. AJ said she would never sing the song again. A real shame. 11 years old: I’m a Fool to Want You (Studio version). A Billie Holliday cover. After all, Billie Holliday was a huge influence on AJ. This video gives insights into AJ’s personality as well as her artistry. 12 years old: Stay. A Rihanna cover. This is one of a number of live songs (all are terrific) that 11-13 year old AJ recorded while casually sitting on her sofa at home, often accompanied by a guitarist, e.g., A Million Years Ago (Adele cover); The Show Must Go On (Queen cover); Always On My Mind (an emotional Willie Nelson cover dedicated to her diciest grandpa); I’d Rather Go Blind (Etta James cover that is really fun); Born To Die (Lana Del Rey cover); California Dreamin’ (The Mamas and Papas cover); and others. Yes, the internet can be a scary place of disrespect, I have seen it from comments and reactors both. It definitely takes extra effort to weed away those who obviously have no goal other than to cause problems. It unfortunately goes along with artists with huge fan base but ignore anyone who can’t be truly respectful of your opinion or her art. I also always wonder why non fans of artists bother. Angelina is a positive person with a wonderful work ethic and has been creating world class art with her voice and creativity for over ten years. Art is different and subjective. You are spot on re the vibrato. Angie did a concert later that year and used the same arrangement and vibrato, but after that she never used that much vibrato on any song. Maybe Angie, at 8, felt that it was some magic potion that would make the song whole.

She was 8 here and at this age she is simply precious and amazingly talented. Two years later she performed this same song with the KORK orchestra, age 10, and she was absolutely magnificent. At age 10 I was forever in love with her. I know another fan earlier, though further down the list, posted the link for her performance at age 10. Wonderful review. I love how you come back and deliver your analysis. Most of us believe Angelina is very, very special, and that she can also sing with the angels.

I would like to discuss the topic of vibrato. As a singer, and a teacher I have an observation, as well as an opinion about different instructors opinions on vibrato. In college I had a choir instructor tell the whole choir not to use vibrato. He never explained why, but he was insistent upon it. As you stated vibrato used by Lewis Armstrong influenced Angelina in her initial years of singing. This was not a bad thing for her, and a lot of voice instructors really liked and commented on her vibrato at that time. Vibrato is literally a matter of taste, and expression as opposed to a matter of technicality. If you want to consider one of the best technical singers of our time, it would be Luciano Pavarotti. Him being an absolute artist, instructor, and a consonant virtuoso in his field, performed with a very pronounced vibrato. You know there are instructors who have a pronounced dislike of singers doing any type of runs, but doing runs in music is part of the expressive art form. Of course anything done too much can be annoying, but anything done artfully can be beautiful including runs. So what I'm saying about vibrato is that I disagree, respectfully, with your point about it being a technical issue because certain instructors do not like it. The basis of Angelina's art form is her being enamored with Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong, Frank Sinatra, Billie Holiday, Etta James, and so many other classic singers, is baked into her basic artistic makeup. Now please understand I really love your reactions, and I know that you really admire Angelina, but I am commenting based on the idea that vibrato is wrong technically when one of the best singers in the world, being Luciano Pavarotti as one of many classical singers who also use vibrato in their art form. So I feel it's kind of misleading to tell people that the use of vibrato, or not to use vibrato is a technical issue when it is actually an artistic preference. Please continue your exploration of this gifted prodigy because she is worth all the time and there is much to learn from her.

Don't use vibrato - unless you have Angelina Jordon's vibrato which is the most amazing vibrato you're ever gonna hear. She has that wide open vibrato that you just can't get enough of. She's like an eight year old Ella Fitzgerald!
