She's either 12 or barely 13 here. For me, this remains one of her all time best performances. Her tone and breath control are Phenomenal! I totally Love this performance. William If you take a look at her video You'll Never Find Another Love Like Mine, you'll see it was shot in the same room, but from a 90 degree angle. In the video, it's easier to see that she was standing. When you compare her height to the light gray painting, in both videos it's apparently the same. The speakers on the floor tell a similar story. My point is that when she sings TSMGO, she's standing.

No it’s no the wild rock of Queen but it’s not meant to be. Angelina is an amazing emotional story teller. There is no question that she told this story well.

Angelina is known as the barefoot princess of 1000 voices, and what you are referring to here is just another one of her voices that you haven't heard. There are so many more! Angelina is one of a kind, much like Freddie Mercury. But Freddie is a legend, a truly gifted singer and artist of his time. Nobody will replace Freddie, but Angelina can demonstrate her own respect for this legend with her own take on this iconic song, just as she did with her own rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody, recognized by Queen itself as in and of itself unique and ceding copyright authorization to Angelina. Angelina is establishing her own legend, and she will soon do it with her own music, while still paying homage to those who came before. Actually, she already has some of her own music, but we all are anxiously awaiting the release of her first album with Republic which (according to Angelina) is very SOON!

Nobody is superior to Freddy, Sinatra, Elvis, etc etc. what we have is hundreds of artists with their own sense of style, emotion and vocal abilities. You can’t say an opera singer is always “better” than a rock singer. Two different venues. To say Angelina isn’t as good as Freddy is 100% wrong….to me. I never felt the emotion from many of Queens songs even when they were new, that Angelina puts into this tribute that fades to black on a sustained primal cry. Freddy was a brilliant showman with a expansive vocal range. M Jackson was also a showman, but did not have that range. Angelina is a complete vocal artist with more diversity of style, good taste, and emotion than any other I’ve ever heard. All of her efforts are put into the song she sings, and the story it tells. She expresses more with just her voice and hand movements than anyone else hitting notes for dogs ears or flaying around a stage in wild costumes and facial contortions. That’s just my opinion and yes I still appreciate the other singers for who they are and what they do

Thank you, Bear! You are quite correct, Angelina never tries to mimic the original artist. She sings the song as she feels it deserves to be sung, while still paying tribute to the original singer. This was her tribute to Freddie Mercury. I'm sure you noticed that she was wearing black and arranged for the screen to fade to black at the end as a mark of respect to him.

Hello, Bear! Somehow this got by me so I'm about a month late! Angelina's version of this classic was marvelous and like what happened to you, her performance took a lot of people by surprise. Bear, don't get me wrong, I know you said some wonderful things about Angelina, but I had this strange feeling you were 'holding back' a little. It's like you're caught in that moment when you're finding it hard to understand what is going on with Angelina. Like you're wondering, "Is this real? How can this be? She's unbelievable! My head is all mixed up trying to figure things out but at the same time I feel something going on inside me when I listen to her sing? It's like my heart is smiling and applauding!!!!" I know you're on her journey with all of us and you have a lot of catching up to do before the 'big bang' later this year when she shifts gears and heads onto the Turnpike with every corner of the planet Earth her destination! You need go no further than that 7 year old waif who had never performed in front of an audience in her short life stepping on the NGT stage and taking on the Billie Holiday jazz Classic 'Gloomy Sunday'. Regarding the mask. As an artist, you perform for people. Your fans are used to seeing you in a certain way. Queen performed it and it was an incredible success! Queen died quite young and lately he used a lot of makeup to hide his face, marked by illness. The lyrics of the song also hint at this. Many artists understand this with a "mask" you put on when you perform! This is my own interpretation of why Angelina has this mask before she starts singing. As the lyricist points out "The show must go on". Open to corrections from any Angels or Queen-fan if I mispoke.

When you cover a version of something else's song, you shouldn't sound like the original, you have to take the song to your own places and create and transfer your emotion to the song, and that's exactly what she did and does in every version of a song 🦶🦶👑🗣🎙🎷

Hello, Bear. She is paying tribute, not recreating his performance. When she sings the words, "...my makeup may be flaking..." the word "flaking" actually flakes. AJ's rendition is suffused with emotion, including an incredibly tender compassion for the writer of the lyrics whose story is in that song. She's sitting at home with a karaoke track and paying an incredible tribute to Freddie, while her grandma films. You missed a lot, IMO. There is a greatness in this cover that is NOT Freddie Mercury's greatness but enfolds it with enormous compassion, like a warm blanket. Incredible healing in that song. That young woman sings deeply. And I'm not talking about pitch or register here. Grandma Ellen, letting herself out.

Call it a tribute and respectful honoring, and the best one I've ever heard of the great song. Angelina Jordan is not better than Freddie Mercury. Freddie Mercury is not better than Angelina Jordan. My point is, that it is folly to compare them. They are two totally different artists, with very different styles of presentation. Here, Angelina is making no attempt to compete with Queen or, specifically, with Freddie. What she does here is pay tribute to the brilliant and consummate artist that Freddie was, by using her own incomparable talents, her exquisitely beautiful and superbly versatile voice, and her unsurpassed ability to pour out the emotion in any song she sings, to brilliantly portray Freddie's struggles at the time. She effortlessly switches (in keeping with the powerful lyrics) from ths soft, almost heartrending sections that illustrate the pain and struggle he was going through inside, to the powerful, belting sections that showcase his determination to keep going, and to make sure the the show would indeed go on regardless. Taken with this in mind, this was an utterly, superbly beautiful performance by Angelina, especially when you remember her age at that time.
