Thank you SHS yes old soul , first recorded at 18 months old singing into a toy mic some lines from a Whitney song, Her Granma Mery played jazz around the house and by 2/3 years old she was borrowing her mom Sara's iPad to search for all the jazz greats ,she taught herself to sing and was asking to be signed up for the Simon show she called it at 5 years old ,but it was eventually Norway's got Talent at 7 years old this was the youngest age allowed and her first audition of Gloomy Sunday by Billie Holiday went viral and the legend was born. So Billie was a major inspiration ,but also Ella, Dina, Frank Sinatra, Louis Armstrong many , by 7 years old she was already called the jazz queen, she continued to perfect her craft singing many different artists this song "you'll never find ......) was a backing track so she couldn't do much with it but even so you can hear how fantastic she is and how skilled she is vocally , now called the girl with a thousand voices she can sing anything and adapt her voice as she chose's Her lower register now is a thing of legend along with everything she does , you will find every new song you hear will be your favourite , she is incomparable , my favourite artist of all time no one else remotely close.

She also inherited her high intelligence from mom and grandma. Her Philanthropy she got from her japanese grandfather. Elmar from Germany

Stunning performance at such a young age! I love the tone of her voice here- velvety rich, smooth, with a little rasp!! I wish she would use this style more often- but she does have 1000 voices!!

No residency (at 18?). She did a one night, two show concert on Feb 29. And, in radical contrast to this video, she covers songs by power vocalists like Mariah, Whitney, Adele and Shirley Bassey...all live.

Listening to her sing this, I KNEW that I knew "that voice" from WAY back when the song was first released. I was picturing a WOMAN singing it, in my mind, yet somehow that didn't seem right. I was correct! First of all, here are some "song facts" about the piece... -- The song You'll Never Find Another Love Like Mine" was written by Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff, and was first released by LOU RAWLS in 1976. -- AHA! She is doing a GREAT intonation of Lou Rawls' voice, in her recorded version, here! I say "intonation," because she has added the accents and the bit of a drawl that Lou's voice had. He passed away in 2006, with this song being touted as his "most notable" song, ever. Her voice doesn't sound HUGELY like his voice, in general, BUT...she used those intonations VERY well. Now, on the other hand, that SULTRY SMOKINESS that Angelina typically has in her voice (that's quite pronounced in this video), takes me back a ways. I've been sitting here searching KZbin for that type of voice, from back in the 50s or 60s. I KNOW I know that voice from SOMEWHERE/SOMETIME. Right now, the closest I'm coming is Roberta Flack... AH! Now I see that Angelina has sung Billie Holiday songs before, and though Billie never sang THIS song, there are many of her songs that have this same velvety tone, plus the same type of approach. Looking back into the 50s a bit more, I now remember that Billie sang with Louis Armstrong...OF COURSE! I used to listen to BOTH of them on the radio, way back then! That's why I was putting THIS song together with LOUIS' voice, as well as Lou's. He DID sing it, and people thought it was LOU singing it, quite often! Also, Billie and Louis sounded REALLY great together. As far as I know, she never sang with Lou Rawls, but if she had, it would have been WONDERFUL! Not only that, but Angelina's voice also carries shades of Ella Fitzgerald. I see that Angelina HAS sung "Cry Me a River," which I used to listen to (and sing along), sung by Ella, all the time. Ella was one of my dad's VERY favorite female singers. Her voice, had that same sultry sound, but she generally sang in a higher pitch than what I've heard from Angelina. Stylewise, though...yes...very similar. OK! So...now I can go back and listen to the rest of your reaction to THIS song, as sung by Angelina... YES! I AGREE! There's definitely that "old soul" thing in her voice. I was also listening to the SWING beat! My mom was a MASTER of swing! I grew up with that kind of music WAY, WAY back. Thank you VERY much for this great reaction, Steven. LOVED IT! 😀

As I was finishing all of that up, Judi walked in, and I shared what I had been doing, and SHE began to sing an Ella Fitzgerald song. YES! So thank you VERY much, Steven, for reacting to Angelina singing this, today. 😀

I loved your comments, Grandma, about Angelina's great intonation of Lou Rawls. When I first heard her sing this 5 years ago, it instantly transported me back to watching Lou Rawls singing on Soul Train, a Music/Dance TV Show back then. I've said for years she sounds like the female Lou Rawls in this song. But what's most amazing is that in the 250+ songs she's sung, I've never heard this voice again. This was her one & only (so far) "Lou Rawls Intonation," & it just goes to show you that she truly deserves her nickname of the "Angel With 1000 Voices." In several, but not all, of her Elvis covers songs, she sounds like a female Elvis. It's uncanny!
@GrandmasGotGraceLW5 ай бұрын
@@keithserafy Yes! Quite uncanny! Dan Vasc does the same kind of thing. Now that he's 34, he's settled more into his "own voice," I think, but he STILL can take on the life of the other singers, in an amazing manner!
