By way of "Classy" I think you could also say "Beautifully arranged". There were even references to other songs that I could hear in the orchestral side, and Angelina's voice definitely went off into other styles of music in her 'fills', but the voice and orchestra were very very well arranged together so that they were always expressing the same thing in different ways, or supporting each other's builds. I hope someone fills you in on the connection between AJ, her grandma, and the winner of this prize, as well as how the arrangement reflects a different meaning in this context. It's a sad but heartwarming story.

From what I understand the woman being honored with the Nobel Prize had her 2 teenage children there to accept the award for her and they were in the front row. I've always felt Angelina sang this to them specifically as if she were the mother. It makes the choices seem so perfect with that in mind. As a song and heartfelt plea from an estranged mother missing her children, and not a romantic love situation.

Angelina has performed with Kork numerous other times in her career since she was a child. It is always an honor and a pleasure to hear them work together as they play off of each other. The performances were in Norway when she was younger. Back to Black when she was 10. Summertime when she was pushing 11. And I believe there were others. Angelina has worn blue contact lenses for a few years now. There is speculation that it is a tribute to the young orphan girl she gave her shoes to when she was 6 years old. That girl had blue eyes and the reference was in the book she wrote about the experience when she was 9.

KORK (KringkastingsORKestret = The Radio Orchestra) is the Norwegian Radio Symphony Orchestra of the Norwegian State Broadcasting Corporation (NRK). It employs 54 permanent members. This is part of the broadcast of the Nobel Peace Prize Tribute on NRK1, as usual one day after the official ceremony and in the presence of the prizewinner (since she is currently held in prison, in the presence of her family). You saw right, even at this prestigious event Angelina is barefoot. As for her tessitura, it is quite low - some say contralto, some say mezzo-soprano, I think it is pretty much the transition between the two. This arrangement is a mix of the original version from the prison film from 1956 (especially the overall mood), the famous Righteous Brothers version (the instrumental part and Angelina's soprano ending) and Elvis' version (low register & slower speed). Vocal arrangement by Angelina Jordan, orchestral arrangement by Helge Sunde. I believe it's not easy to synchronize with such a large orchestra, unless the singer is used to leading and the musicians are used to following (a good conductor is also important). Here all of this comes together and the result is correspondingly good. Up until now you have been reacting to the very famous stuff - here are some suggestions form her "younger years" ,-) "Summertime" with KORK (10yo) / Summertime on NGT (8yo), Feeling good on The Stream gir tilbake (10yo), It's a man's world (12yo), Stay (12yo) to name a very few

Beautiful reaction, thanks guys. The ability this girl has to captivate and move the people who listen to her is absolutely incredible, as is her sensitivity in choosing and interpreting the song for this ceremony. This performance of her is fascinating and wonderfully intimate, she reinterpreted this legendary song and adapted it perfectly to the emotion of the homage to the painful story of Narges Mohammadi! I was moved to see and hear Angelina singing in such an incredibly mature and charming way 7 years after the last time and in the same studio and certainly also with some of the musicians who accompanied her as a child, when she took her first steps towards his musical future. Here Angelina was simply fantastic and wonderfully "unchained", probably the only singer who at only 17 years old has already sung on 2 different occasions at the celebrations of Nobel Prizes.💛🧡❤

Angelina inspires me to do what I can to help make the world a better place, so I am asking all angels and others to spread the story of Narges Mohammadi. Angelina was recorded here in December 2023 at the Nobel Peace prize ceremony in Oslo Norway, performing this beautiful version of Unchained Melody. She paid tribute to Narges, who is currently on a hunger strike while imprisoned in Iran, for being an activist for women's rights. Her two twin children, who are 17, spoke on her behalf at this event. The more people who are aware and call for change, the more likely the leaders of Iran will set her free. Acts of kindness are inspirational, as Angelina always reminds us. We angels, and all others must honor Angelina, and those who represent our values, by doing all we can to help, and be kind to others. Even the smallest gestures can make a difference. Thank you for providing artist links to the official channel and video in your description, and encouraging your viewers to use those links as you do for your own channel. That will help ensure her success and her goal of spreading peace and love to the world.

Written by Larry D. Pifer (If you take the time to read this you will truly understand that AJ is she is the most extraordinary storyteller of our lifetime. Unchained Melody Nobel Peace Prize Dec. 2023 Unchained Melody (AJ, at the age of 17 performed at the Nobel Peace Prize Ceremony December 2023 in Oslo, Norway) I watched as Angelina Jordan stepped onto the stage, her presence commanding attention. The room hushed, anticipation hanging in the air like a delicate thread. She stood there, a young girl with an old soul, ready to weave magic with her voice. As the first notes of "Unchained Melody" filled the room, time seemed to slow. Angelina's voice wrapped around each word, infusing them with a depth that transcended mere lyrics. It was as though the song had been written for her, and her alone. The audience held its breath as she sang. Her voice soared, reaching heights that touched the heavens. The pain and longing in her eyes mirrored the emotions in the song-the heartache, the yearning. It was more than a performance; it was a revelation. The chorus came, and Angelina's voice swelled, filling every corner of the room. " Oh, my love, my darling I've hungered, hungered for your touch," she sang, and suddenly, we all felt the real meaning of the words. The magic in her performance was like nothing we had ever experienced in our lives. The lyrics came alive and had meaning as they flowed through us. In that moment, Angelina Jordan became a vessel for something greater-an embodiment of love itself. Her voice carried us beyond our own pain and loneliness. We felt connected-to her, to each other, to something intangible yet profound. As she held that final note, time snapped back into place. The applause erupted-a thunderous acknowledgment of what we had just witnessed. But it wasn't just applause; it was gratitude-for allowing us to glimpse love and longing through Angelina's eyes. And so, we stood there, hearts full, tears in our eyes. Angelina Jordan had given us something rare-a reminder that love exists even in our brokenness. And for those few minutes, we believed it with every fiber of our being.

AJ has performed with the KORK Orchestra on many occasions. Angelina Jordan's collaborations with the KORK Orchestra have showcased her remarkable talent and leadership in music. Her hands-on approach in co-arranging performances with the orchestra leader and her insistence on being in charge reflect her dedication to her art. The public rehearsals offer a transparent view into the creative process, highlighting the meticulous work that goes into each performance. Jordan's commitment to perfect pitch is crucial, as it ensures the highest quality of musical experience, especially for those with a keen sense of hearing who can detect even the slightest distortion. Her ability to lead and shape the music, rather than follow, speaks volumes about her influence and control in the realm of musical performance.

The Nobel Peace Prize is the highest praise any person can get on Earth, regardless religion, Skin color, nationality and so on. Miss Angelina sand there in 2014 at age 8 and now at age 17. BUT, as I might have said numerous times already, she is a hero in Norway, a role model to many, and THE NATIONAL TREASURE OF NORWAY. She was declared that in 2014 by her people, but for many, she is like a real noble woman. OK, I am gushing here. Some compare AJ to Elvis. Music has always been a powerful medium that resonates differently with each listener, often evoking strong emotions and memories. While Elvis Presley, known as the "King of Rock and Roll," has left an indelible mark on music history and culture, Angelina Jordan brings her own unique and soulful interpretation to her performances. Her ability to captivate and emotionally engage her audience is a testament to the evolving landscape of musical expression. Each artist contributes to the rich tapestry of music in their own way, touching the hearts of listeners across different eras and genres. It's the personal connection that each listener forms with the artist's performance that truly defines the impact of their music. Angelina Jordan has been referred by a number of professionals in the music industry as a once in the thousand-year talent, and in my 77 orbits around the sun I have never experienced anyone like AJ.

I thought "Unchained Melody" was a odd choice for this event, but have since learned the history of the song. More on that later. Certainly Angelina was thrilled to be performing back in her home country of Norway, where she is a national treasure, but this performance goes way beyond that honor. She first performed at the Save the Children event at the 2014 Peace Prize event, when she was 8 years old. Narges Mohammadi was this years' recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize. Narges was, at the time of this tribute, on a hunger strike while imprisoned in Iran, for being an activist for women's rights. Her two children spoke on her behalf at this event. Most of the performers were Iranian. We know Angelina's grandmother, Mery Zamani, grew up in Iran and was a prodigy for painting and poetry. We can imagine the conversations Mery had with Angelina about Narges. This performance had to be extremely meaningful to Angelina and her family. I hope all the angels will spread the story of Narges and her mission, with the hope for change. In 1954, Alex North was contracted to compose the score for the prison film Unchained (released in 1955). North had a melody he had written in the 1930s and composed and recorded the score when he was asked to write a song based upon the movie's theme. North asked Hy Zaret to write the lyrics. After first refusing, Zaret and North together wrote "Unchained Melody. Zaret refused the producer's request to include the word "unchained" in his lyrics. The song eventually became known as the "Unchained Melody" even though the song does not actually include the word "unchained". Instead, Zaret chose to focus on someone who pines for a lover he has not seen in a "long, lonely time". "Unchained Melody" comes from the film centered on a man who contemplates either escaping from prison to live life on the run or completing his sentence and returning to his wife and family. So indeed this song fits along with Narges being in prison and her two children, and the rest of the people who embrace freedom, calling for her release.

Guys. Elvis had the best male voice ever. She is right now, the very best Female voice now. Maybe since Sarah Vaughn.

I would expect it to be harder singing with an orchestra. With a band she can tell them, just follow me. Which wont work with an orchestra.

Yeah, live, no autotune! That was a perfect G5 at the end that never waivered, very disappointed with your reaction to this extremely emotional version of Unchained Melody, which you say absolutely nothing about, which says a lot about the level of your consciousness.
