The meaning of the song is autobiographical, she says she carries her traumas with her (she lost her father when she was 13 years old, he was a famous Italian singer who had a heart attack during one of his concerts), suffering makes one appreciate the joys more. We need to accept the ups and downs of life and fight boredom as suffering by always staying active, we need to use these moments in a positive way even if only to reflect on our lives and not remain passive to the point of depression, so the cumbia dance of noia(boredom) is like an invitation to a party to always look for something that makes us feel good.

You should also react to her cover of “La rondine” (her father’s song) during the cover night of Sanremo. Her father was one of the biggest singer-songwriters in Italy and he passed away while performing on stage at one of his concerts when she was 13 and she was there when it happened. She sang that song to honour him and she sang it with so much love and pain in her voice and all Italy cried because of that performance.

You should react to “La rondine” as well. It’s a song of her father who died at a concert while singing when she was like 12 I think. She sang the cover at Sanremo. The original song describes a loved partner going away, but she used the song to remember the loss of her beloved father.

As regards the dance, my opinion is that Angelina was inspired by Colombian Cumbia for the rotating movement with the long skirt, but for the sound, the rhythm and the choice of musical instruments I would have some doubts, and I see more similarities only with the cumbia from the Argentine barrio... Some musical parts of the song instead seemed more similar to the folk music of Southern Italy such as Tarantella and Pizzica and other similar ones from Albania.
