Defs was a totally different relationship in the books between them but book 1 her and thomas was goated

This trilogy is so underrated. IMO, The Scorch Trials is slightly better than the first, but only by a little bit. The Death Cure is still my favorite of the three.

The scorch trials was alright despite the changes but im genuinely surprised to see that people think the death cure is the best movie when it changed so much for the worse (in my opinion). To each their own though I still enioy the trilogy overall

The thing I appreciate the most about the Maze Runner franchise is that the main love interest wasn't introduced in the first installment. That's such a breath of fresh air compared to other YA novels were in most cases the second character you met in most cases is the endgame.

Just to point out one of the main differences with the Flare between the books and the movies, or rather, the infected people. In the movies, the victims are portrayed as more of a zombie, which honestly works better for cinema, it's scary and easier to understand and see as a threat. But in the books, it's more psychologic, the Cranks (the slang for infected) just loose a part of themselves slowly loosing their humanity (the human emotions (sympathy and other similar emotions)), but nothing else, they still act normally (mostly) and can talk. When it's over they just act violent because, why would they stop themselves from doing so? And when someone is infected, they can still slow it down with a drug that just slows down the brain functions, desperately holding hope for a cure before it's too late and they become a Gone. In a way, isn't the mindless violence from WICKED worse than the Gones?

Dunno about you guys but I'd totally watch a spinoff of the all girl maze group. :) Of course it'd take them a week to make every little decision due to the arguing but still that alone would be entertaining. There was a game show, I think it was Survivor or something similar where they decided to do an all men's team and an all women's team. Soon as they landed on the island the guys pretty much just all instantly assumed a position/task they knew they'd be best at and were able to get a fire going, a full on shelter, water,etc. Then when they went to the all female group they tried doing it democratically. They'd meet and try discussing what needs to be done. Problem was, they could never agree thus nothing ever got done. Basically it resulted in the dude team to pull so far ahead of the chick one so the show runners were like 'dang we need to fix it' which resulted in them sending some dudes to the chicks team and vice versa, making both groups 50/50. An all girl group in the maze would be disastrous.

And I could say the opposite after watching 'Boys and Girls Alone' where 10 girls were left in a house by themselves and created a whole little society where everyone had a task and a place and they played dress up fashion shows every night, while the 10 boys they left in a house alone just ate cookies and drank coke all day and literally destroyed the furniture and had the place like a pig sty. It has NOTHING to do with genders, mate. It's personalities, attitudes, experience and to an extent ages. Think of how many women run households and organise kids, activities and housework on a daily without trouble. It has nothing to do with them being female. Those women you talk about could not get along and didn't want to work together, and probably had shit organisational skills, that's why they failed. How did we even get here? We supposed to be talking about the movie!

@@jinxthesweet Nukie is referring to The Island with Bear Grylls (Season 2). No they aren't saying women can't adapt or be hard working. The point simply is women wouldn't be able to survive as long as men in a maze situation because they would want things to be fair and democratic, which isn't always for the best. On The Island, the camera crew (of men) has to literally save the women from killing themselves SEVERAL times because they don't have basic knowledge of survival or the basic strength needed to craft things.

I loved the books and was at first really frustrated especially with this film as they really diverge from the books from here on out. The main plot points still are there but they don’t hit the same way as they did in the books. So I just pretend this is an alt. Universe and then I enjoy them more.

personally I never understood the hate for Teresa. I mean understand minimal hate but hate to the point where everyone felt disgusted looking at her? Like I understand where she's coming from. She has trauma from her mom dying and doesn't want anyone else to die and she thinks that WICKED is truly going to stop people dying. She would rather save the whole human population than just a couple of friends. Sure they mean more to a person but saving the WHOLE human population? I would do that too. Like we know her arc for wanting to be with WICKED. We know that she just wants people to stop dying and I would hope any other person would want that too. I obviously would've hoped WICKED did something differently on trying to find a cure. The book definitely explains her better and shows why she truly went with WICKED. Also there is no doubt they WICKED could''ve been controlling her as well. Throughout this movie in particular, she gave off subtle hints on having to do a betrayal and WICKED was behind all of that. She did all that she did to protect Thomas as well. Everything that she did was for him. She even died for him. Anyway, I just really never understood the hate for her. I defintely hate WICKED for putting all the people through that but she just had that little bit of hope that everyone wants so she went with WICKED. She knew that if she went against them, she would probably die eventually but I see her siding with WICKED as a side of hope and at least she knows that she died trying to literally save the human population. You can still disagree with me if you want but I personally would not put her as my least favorite. She literally had the most brain in this movie and she really thought logically. Thomas just wanted him and his friends to survive which is perfectly fine because I would want that as well but Teresa's mind worked as if she sided with the bad guys to save the world and maybe a few of her friends died, then that's still kind of a.win. I would rather have a lot more people survive than just 3. She was one of the smartest in the film and deserves more credit than what people took her as. Obviously she had a little redemption at the end because she realized that WICKED really wasn't the solution after all into saving the world. That's when she leaves. ALL she wanted to do was save millions if not billions of people from this virus. So she one of my top favorite characters. I know that's a very unpopular opinion but she deserves more credit for sure.
