The bit when Marlin turns to swim away and the shark is right there, my dad, in the middle of a cinema full of families with young children, jumped and shouted "OH FUCK!". Most people found it hilarious but my mum spent the next 10 minutes quietly apologising to anyone within earshot 😂

Finding Nemo was, at the time, the second-highest grossing animated film ever (behind The Lion King) and has a 99% on Rotten Tomatoes. ❤️ It won Best Animated Feature at the Academy Awards (Pixar’s first among MANY) and was nominated for an additional three: Best Sound Editing (Gary Rydstrom and Michael Silvers), Best Original Score (Thomas Newman), and Best Original Screenplay (Andrew Stanton, Bob Peterson, and David Reynolds). Stanton also co-directed A Bug’s Life, and directed both WALL-E and Finding Dory. ❤️

10:13 This line from Dory, "It runs in my family... Well, at least I think it does. ... hmm, where ARE they...?" Could have been a throwaway joke about her memory loss, but in reality it was a genius setup for Finding Dory where she actually DOES find her family. On that note, the titles of the movies mean more than what they are at face-value. Finding Nemo is not just about Marlin getting help from tons of ocean creatures to find his son, it's also about Nemo finding his "family," including figuring out what family means to him. That's why he has more than just his dad at the end, he also has Dory, his friends from school, and his buddies from the dentist's office. Finding Dory isn't just about Nemo and Marlin searching for Dory when she's captured, it's also about Dory being reunited with her family, running into old friends from her past and making new ones along the way. In the end, she ends up with an even bigger family than she knew she had.

This movie is amazing, every time I see it I notice other cool little details. I was lucky enough to be able to dive in some beautiful seas. Unfortunately, due to an accident, I can't enjoy it anymore. By the way, you should know that it is obviously forbidden to catch a fish during a dive, we have to be extremely careful with the environment, not to damage anything, especially the corals with our fins. What is a pity about this movie is that although the message is of course to leave nature alone, is against the forbidden fishing and overfishing like we can see in the climax. People have become such fans of these fish that many families have bought some to put in their aquariums... While this is the exact OPPOSITE of what Finding Nemo wanted to convey ! >

@pink_alligator2 жыл бұрын
I don't think they even make the kind of movies we see from the '80s-'90s where it's pure kids' movies that any adult without nostalgia would struggle to enjoy bcs often they didn't bother developing parts of the story kids wouldn't pick up on. Everything didn't even need to make sense bcs it was just for kids who totally see past such things (take leaps in logic like nothing) if they even noticed

To prevent kids from releasing their clownfish by flushing them down the toilet, an informacial were made to broadcast on TV of what happens to fish going through the water treatment plant (even saying that the movie should have been called Grinding Nemo). A deleted scene would show Nemo going through the Water Plant and manages to bypass the grinder and through the water filter, but it was cut as it wasn't much difference from the earlier scene when he went through the water filter, so it was redundant.
