Finding Dory was sooooo cute! What is your favorite Pixar film??
@benhuffman312 жыл бұрын
The Incredibles. The tone is much different and more mature than the other Pixar movies. The story arcs for each character are great, Edna Mode is one of the best side characters ever, and Syndrome is an S-tier villain. It’s a superhero movie that is very original in the age of the MCU and DCEU.

I could be wrong, but I'm about 90% sure that Finding Dory specifically said Destiny has poor eyesight, and that's the whole reason she's in the institute in the first place. And I feel like it's entirely possible for a whale shark to have poor eyesight even if the species normally has exceptional sight. I'm not a marine biologist so maybe I'm wrong, but dogs are known to have very good eyesight as well and it's possible for them to be both nearsighted and farsighted. Perhaps because we can't easily observe whale sharks as closely as we can observe dogs we just haven't encountered a whale shark with poor eyesight, if they really struggle as much as Destiny does in the movie they probably don't make it very long in the wild.(I hope this rambling makes sense to someone other than me)
@flopjul30222 жыл бұрын
i mean there is always a possibility that a animal could be near/far sighted because the only thing needed for that is fault in dna structure(genetic cause) or due to something that has happened while living(whats said to be happening to people by staring at a screen for long periods of time). i mean many things that are studied upon by humans are first studied upon rats or other animals.
@WaryJester2 жыл бұрын
@@flopjul3022 That's true, but you still have to factor in the species of the animal. Like a near sighted hawk having better eye sight that a more-than-average-near sighted rhinoceros. You are correct tho, some animals would probably benefit from having glasses, if you can manage to keep them on the animal lol

@fredericksaxton97822 жыл бұрын
@@henryvalencia2026 Whatever, I hate when people say worthless things like that. Many animated movies have real morals, real reason, and real fact. Even when I discuss those things, there's always one person who says "you're thinking too deep it's just a cartoon" and to that I say: You can shove it so far up your rear end it pops out your fat mouth. We aren't fools, we "factor in" it's a movie, but that's not gonna change the conversation, you're telling us something we're already doing subconsciously, but then it just makes it seem like you NEVER take movies seriously JUST because they're animated, even though they are created by REAL people. Bambi is "just a movie" but they literally brought in real deers into Disney's studio to get it ACCURATE.

Here's some of my favourite things about this movie: - showcases supportiveness of different ways of journeying through life, through Dory and her parents, and Destiny, Bailey and Hank - Disney's first non-straight couple (the two women who thought Hank was an "ugly baby") - the original voice of Nemo voiced one of the truck drivers near the end - no actual killer sharks, my biggest phobia since my mum watched Jaws in the cinema weeks before I was born THEN MADE ME SIT AND WATCH IT WHEN I WAS 6 - all three seals omg

I’m not that good at it, and I don’t understand why people use “how are you” as a greeting and not a genuine question, but I love getting to know people even the littlest bit. While not as good as the first one, this has a special place in my heart: I work with individuals who are members of the special needs or disabilities community, and this to me is such a beautiful and sad story about someone who feels she has to apologize to everyone for something that isn't her fault and that makes her life more difficult, but it also gives Dory a lot empathy for others as well as focusing on the present moment and enjoying her life, which is amazing!

It's very hard to create a sequel that measures up to the first one. This one manages to do that. Not only that, it is its own story, instead of just repeating the original.

Echolocation works by producing sound and then listening to the echoes. The sound reflects off of different surfaces and comes back different based on off what and how far it was reflected from. Human can actually also use echolocation and there are blind people who use it. They usually whistle on their walks and listen to the echoes of their whistling to know where to go. With this they can almost perfectly know and imagine their surroundings and some can even recognize objects around a source of noise. Like for example - if there is a fan that is making noise and there is a cup in front of the fan, people with echolocation can tell that there is an object in front of the fan, what that object is and even precisely where it is located and what is it made from with sound alone. In other words - they see with sound.

The truck going into the ocean is a reference to Joe Ranft's tragic death in 2005. The car he was riding lost control and went into the sea, which killed him. Joe Ranft have been a storyboard artist/story man ever since Toy Story up until Cars (which he co-drected with John Lasseter) and had several voice cameos in both Disney and Pixar productions including: Elmo St Peters and The Clown in Brave Little Toaster, Igor in The Nightmare Before Christmas, Lenny the Binochulars in Toy Story, Heimlich in A Bug's Life, Wheezy in Toy Story 2, Peter "Claws" Wald in Monsters, Inc., Jagues the cleaning shrimp in Finding Nemo (who is voiced by Joe's brother Jerome, a character sculptor at Pixar and voiced Beta in Up) and Red and Pieterbilt in Cars. Cars and Corpse Bride were dedicated to him.

In Utah they actually Air Drop fish into lakes and ponds to restock them for fishing seasons.. and its literally exactly how it sounds. They have small airplanes with belly mounted tanks. They fly low over the target water and open the tank... The fish drop from at least 50-100 feet up, at 100+mph :O So they could probably survive the plunge from the truck! Unless by "they wouldn't survive impact".. you meant impact from the truck or debris after XD

In earlier versions, Dory was still going to have trouble remembering Nemo's name, even including calling him Bilbo when reuniting with them and Hank (who was going to be so emotional of it that he would say "I want to have a family!" while sobbing (which would break him out of charater too much), which would have made a reference to The Hobbit movies as they got released during Finding Dory's production. While not stated why this was cut, my theory is that Stanton thought it was better that Dory have some development inbetween the films, though it was a good reference.
