When you think about it, if they voted for the game to end, the money would be sent to the families of the deceased. So if they voted to end the games, the husband wouldn't have to play anymore and would still get some of the prize money.

The wife and husband thing was left for interpretation. I believe that they didn't play the marble game at all, the only sign I have for that was the way she reacted when the voice told them the rules of the marble round. I think she gave up so he can continue playing, since it was highly likely that at least one of the other games involve some kind of phisical activity (either speed, strenght or endurance) and a man is probably more fit for that. But, again, that isn't confirmed or denied, since their marble round was resolved offscreen.
@habitsrabbit3 жыл бұрын
Which makes me feel bad for the wife even more tbh. I think she did give him the marbles so he can continue on, which sucks for her because he threw that sacrifice away just a couple hours later.

Player 69 was actually very smart in asking for the group to vote to end the games. Lets recall what happened in episode 2. We and the Players found out should the majority of the players vote to end the games, the surviving players all leave with nothing, but the prize money is divided up and given to all the families of the deceased players. What is Player 69? He is a family member of a deceased player. His wife Player 70 died while playing in the games. Had the group agreed and voted to end the games and leave he as a family member of a deceased player would have gotten money. His flaw was he never argued and countered Sang-Woo's argument. Player 69 should have brought up the fact that while the games are terminated when the majority vote to end them, they also leave the games open for the surviving players to return. He could have pleaded for the vote to be very close like before make it 9-8 similar to the 101-100 vote in episode 2 and than you 16 can simply agree to come back and continue playing.

They probably could have thrown a shoe directly at the glass in front of them. Had the glass broken or cracked, it's likely regular glass. The players took off their shoes before stepping on the glass as instructed. However, the instructions neither did say they must leave their shoes behind nor said they must not use the shoes to test the glass.

Sang-woo was a fraudster who cheated people out of their life savings and deserved to go to prison for his actions. We don't know much else about anyone except Sae-byeok who left a totalitarian necrocratic dictatorship to find a better life for her family, Ali who was a refugee from a war-torn Middle-eastern country, and Ji-yeon who killed her father after he spent her life torturing her and murdered her mother. As for Gi-hun, he suffered from PTSD from the failed strike (which was actually based on true events in South Korea from a company called Ssangyong Motors) and a gambling addiction.
@wingbullet3 жыл бұрын
@@emptyxsuit Most did some petty crimes or had good reasons. Sang-woo actively hurt innocents, and also to a far larger degree than the others. Basically: Some did small crimes to innocents (moderately scummy). Some did large crimes to people that deserved it (hardly scummy at all). Except Sang-Woo, he did large crimes to innocents (terrible scum). Also, his actions in the game are the least relatable, even if they're just as sensible as the others'.
@emptyxsuit3 жыл бұрын
@@wingbullet there was a literal gangster who beat a man to death in front of everyone just because the drink he stole was spilled. The doctor was apart of a black market organ smuggling ring. Il-nam was literally bankrolling the game and likely had been bankrolling numerous games for years if not decades. Sang-woo spent the riot trying to protect his team while others were out there literally killing people in their beds. Sang woo suffered from arrogance. His crime could be seen as overconfidence in himself which led to his downfall. But even though he was trash at his day job, there’s no indication that he was dumb enough to think the money would save him from prison. In fact, his motivation seemed pretty clearly just to spare his mother from it all whereas Gi-hun’s mother was put in the position she was in because of him. And in that regard, I don’t just mean the destitution. I don’t speak Korean but unless the translation was poorly done, she even admits that he was the reason she no longer had health insurance. And sure, you can say it’s PTSD and gambling addiction but truly his crime was pride. Gi-hun had so much pride that he wouldn’t even take the money from his ex-wife’s husband to at least attempt to help his mother. He lied plenty of times and to plenty of people but he takes a stand as if he were some beacon of truth but only when his mother’s health is on the line? Sang-woo was not a good person but he’s hardly the worst. He took the game seriously. Almost as if his life depended on it. While Gi-hun was carried through the game. The one exception being the dalgona challenge of course. But I’m in a tangent now. All I mean to say is that to make it seem like Sang-woo is the worst person in the game seems like a stretch to me. If your family was on the line, would you lie down and die for someone else just because they had a sad backstory? I can understand the mentality of that character because I think he was well-written. Same with just about all of the characters aside from the cop. He made the most questionable choices but that’s another tangent.
