I think only two of the VIPS were specifically American, there is definitely an Easter or Western European and probably another from Asia as well. But as an American, I'm not offended by their portrayals, considering how Hollywood has traditionally portrayed other nationalities in millions of other movies, I get it :)

But I think the Americans portrayed in this episode weren't professional actors. They may have been expatriates or American tourists who were stranded in South Korea during the pandemic.

The insane part is that when they were filming this, they created the set you see and even made actual real tempered glass too. The platform was 1.5 meters high which is roughly around 5 feet. The director/writer said that a mere 1 meter around 3 feet tends to make people in real life feel fear and this was 1.5 meters/5 feet. So the actors fear and nervousness and the way their bodies were tense was real and not acting at all. They also had to literally jump from glass to glass. However, falling through, they removed the glass and the person jumped onto air and fell onto a platform directly below to catch them so they wouldn't get hurt. Insane that they actually did those things though! They said a lot of actors were nervous and afraid and were sweating so much.

That funny accent the VIPs have seems to crop up in Korean TV when they have any foreigner who speaks English, either natively or as a lingua franca. So I was told that in order to make all this believable, the actors were in fact a little over a meter off the ground. And there was actually real and tempered glass on the bridge. That's why even when they fall, the reactions are real. However, for larger scenes requiring a higher sense of danger, the team also moved to film at a different “bridge” with a substantial height, so the actors were tied to a cable for safety.

This is the tip on how to survive the glass steps. When they tell you take off your shoes, you should take off your jacket and tie a knot at the bottom and stuff your shoes inside the jacket to create a makeshift club. After you done that, you use it to beat the glass to determine which one is safe and which is dangerous.
