Never mind the original low level of the recording, you have done an amazing job in presenting these two pieces as a very listenable set for our delectation this week. Had you not mentioned it, I don't think anyone would have noticed any imperfections at all. Crackle on 78s is a fact of life these days and where beautiful music is concerned, the crackle becomes non-existent to the ear. Thank you for transporting us all back to a beautiful, bygone era.

My care and remark is devoted rather to the 'younger generation' whose first move is today to remove the hiss or crackle from the old record. For them nature is cleanness which is totally not my experience and is not the right way. I too first hear music regardless the condition of the material. It does not disturb me. The music is very special here and only if technicians of Syrena were more precise at this instance it might have been still better. Thank you, Richard !

Thank you for your detailed reply; I agree with you entirely. Noise reduction removes sonic range and I always prefer to hear all of what is available, 'warts and all' as we say here in Britain!

Two more brilliant tangos, wonderfully played by the extraordinary Gold orchestra Sound seems more than ok to me :-) I love that precious sheet music!

Very lucky to have found a copy of "Szkoda Twoich..." in the US, although the other version sung by Faliszewski. This is a new one and is great to hear - thank you.

Obrigado, Sergio ! It is all played on the original 1932 Electrola gramophone ! Perhaps you were thinking about the more modern one, 1990 Dual (?).
