I like the extra running joke - how Cecily's character seems to show up with a different boyfriend every time she goes to the club... Discarding each one once she realizes they're not into Angelo like she is😄. Also, this would have been perfect to throw in to the Paul Rudd episode 12/18 since they needed extra stuff to fill time and this never actually aired.

This and the Please Don't Destroy sketch where Martin, Ben, and John insult their future selves, which, as I said before, should have been the cold opening, since it ended with "Live from New York, it's Saturday night!" and SNL has had cold openings that weren't political satire sketches (mostly behind-the-scenes sketches, but there were sketches that were random one-shots or sone kind of vague evergreen parody. In the 70s episodes, they were mostly used as an excuse for Chevy Chase to do pratfalls, though the very first episode ended with Michael O'Donoghue and John Belushi collapsing from heart attacks and Chevy coming out and saying the opening line dressed as a stagehand).

Thank you for this. SNL should now just be this sketch and I would watch it for the rest of time. Angelo is not just musical brilliance, even the way he positions himself on the stool, defying the loss of physics, and making a statement about man's troubled relationship with furniture. He does more with less. He effortlessly explodes a word into a supernova of alien syllables and then creates a totally original song about it. Angelo also proves that a song can last less than 30 seconds and still be good. And Deb is equally brilliant, showcasing the rich depth of Icelandic culture. We got a taste of it with Bjork when she wore a live goose to the Oscars, but it's on full display here, creating a new standard of beauty and fashion that women everywhere will want to copy. The name of Angelo's country can't be pronounced by Westerners but obviously it is also a hotbed of cutting edge art and music. I hope that they bring back Todd with his minimalist dancing. To top it off Cecily Strong is the best date ever, patiently explaining the performance to her less cultured man. Like most men, he probably just watches wrestling and football and can barely read, so he doesn't understand what real art is. Very happy to see Angelo back and I hope it is a regular occurrence.

Lorne really doesn’t allow much ad lib on air. They are definitely breaking character to try to save the sketch a bit, but other then some fumbled lines, I’m sure this was word for word on the queue cards

@@TomDoesDisney True...but they're "cue" cards. They don't break character to ty and save a sketch...it just happens. Partly because Billie Eilish is clearly a HORRIBLE actress (her mom was SO right!) and partly because it seems like a dang funny sketch to be in... When professional comedy actors can't help but laugh...that's how you know something is TRULY funny.....WRITTEN funny....and funny to perform/portray.
