No, he wants all though Shohei didn't expect himself really winning MVP at all till the MVP announcement for Ohtani (even Ippei said he would be MVP during the race, Ohtani said that no way he could win against the other race runners). Ohtani wants to be number one in both hitting and pitching because he has to prove to the world 🌎 that he can do both at the same time more than a MVP year and continue to allow him to do both as he loves doing both so much. You see, even now after he got ALMVP, there're still some voices both in Japan and US suggesting that Ohtani should choose either hitting or pitching saying that he would do better if he only concentrate at one instead of both.
