i work in an upscale restaurant with chefs who have worked in two star michelin restaurants. those two chefs practically live there (10+ hour days)-- i hope younger generations change the industry and that includes better work / life balance. good luck to you i can't wait to get out

how do you know if you have a passion or if its just an interest? I mean sometimes I want to live my life based off of food and just learning about it and other times I'm not, and if I'm not, how do I know what my career should be? I'm 16 and I want to go into culinary but how do I know I'm not wasting my money? my two options for my career path are both mentally challenging and I'm not ready for either but its the only thing I'm interested in( culinary or medical school)

Nooooo! Where are you from? The school i go to is FREE for locals, (and about 2-3k per year for international students) and you start from the VERY BASIC, they literally teach us eveything from the most BASIC detail, so you don't have to worry if you don't know anything because they dont expect you to know everything
