Aw! Thank you for not criticizing my diy haircut. I did this video on the very height of covid, salons were closed. But I have one experience in a salon where the haitdresser all throughout while she was cutting my hair, she had me face against the mirror! She turned the chair away from the mirror so I couldn’t see what she was doing. Is that right? I couldn’t complain so I just let her be. This is how I always ask the hairdresser to cut my hair and I can never seem to get it, either you can't really see the layers or I end up with a mullet! I gave this a go this morning half asleep and it turned out amazing! Just what I wanted :)

Hey this works! I got brave because I'm job hunting and can't see the hairdresser until I get a paycheck. I'm way overdue...this worked for getting those dead ends off - I just cut about 1 1/2" off the bottom and 1" off the other layers. Looks healthy now. Thanks!

I love this method! I found it a few years ago and it works so well. I don't like the shortest layer quite so short, so I only do the first 2 or 3 steps. This time I did do a face framing long bang, too, and just kind of blended it down at an angle into the shortest layer, and it actually turned out really well.

I use to cut myself and last summer after quarantine went to hairdresser 💇‍♀️ he chopped all of it was half back long and fucked up everything. Sleeping on a pillow w/ silk pillowcase case help prevent breakage and split ends. Cotton and fleece pillowcases, and flannel contributes to breakage and split ends. I found out the hard way, always waking up w/ tangled bed head. Silk pillowcase is a must, I made some from old silk dresses believe it or not. NO breakage, NO split ends. !!!! Yea !!!

I came here right after trying brad mondo wolf cut. It worked a bit but I only tried 2 inches because I wanted to keep my length. This one worked out beautifully though☺️subtle layers but looks like I’ve actually had a hair cut, while keeping as much length as I wanted. Angel...just a suggestion ...from a stylist who is also on youtube....use the 2nd hair tie as a guide...ie cut it bluntly then afterward point cut...you pulling your hair away from your body to see to cut is affecting the cut itself

I've been wanting to do something to my 65 Yr old hair that's multi colored white, silver and greys. It's down to my rear end. I do trim it myself and the last time was 2 yrs ago @ 13 in. What amazes me is that it was just a tad shorter than it is now! I think the layering will be a really good thing for my hair as well as a good new look! Thanks for the Great Video! 😍

But you did awesome and a hairdresser couldn't have done any better! My own hair desperately needs a trim...maybe 3 inches. It's to my waist, but it's looks thin and scraggly. I've been using this method to give myself layers since my teens years. I have always been very tender headed and I know stylists hate dealing w people like me (at least I think so) and I don't blame them, so to save myself the torture and the awkward moment of having to explain that everytime, this is how I've gotten by, lol.
