I CUT MY OWN HAIR! Thanks to Brad Mondo and his butterfly cut tutorial it actually turned out so cute! I'm Shocked and so happy i did it!

Oh yeah. Wow. She was a perfect candidate this cut. Her hair looked healthy, and shiny, but it was just sort of sitting there doing nothing. Now it catches light from every direction, and has all sorts of movement. Gorgeous.

As a hairstylist for nearly 40 years, I was cringing....but you did all right! It helps so much to have a good pair of scissors for HAIRCUTTING. I didnt realize people were so nervous about cutting their hair....It looks really cute on you and I enjoyed the video

I mean, I’ve known people who struggle to see beyond themselves, but that is like… the precipice of self-absorption. I wouldn’t let you touch my head if YOU paid ME! 😂 She did better than alright* by the way.

@@e.erin. my reply was meant to be a compliment, but thank you for the thorough evaluation of its flaws. I appreciate that you would n't "let" me touch your head unless "I paid YOU". The few clients who ever told me they were nervous to get their hair cut, were obviously being dramatic. That's not even the point of this video. If there's no relationship, and no trust, between client and stylist, it would be nerve-racking. What's important is that you love the way your hair looks, whether you cut it yourself or not. I will choose my words more carefully if I ever decide to comment again on KZbin.

Makes perfect sense, considering it's got to be nearly blindfolded, second nature to you~ I wish! At nearly 60 yrs old, I'm just now feeling brave enough to mess w/my own hair~ which is so silly, it's just hair, right?! My first attempt was some highlights, which I screwed up royally, ending up w/a few big orange blotches that cost me $200 to have "fixed". I really do want to try this cut however, on my now just past shoulder length hair. Do you have any advice that would be specific to my length? I have wavy, not curly, strawberry blonde natural hair. It curls up if I tie it up to dry, or can be brushed straight as well w/out any heat. Anything appreciated, if you care to respond~ thanks, in advance~ Sammy Whitson in NV

This honestly is one of the best butterfly cuts I have seen. The aspect of this cut that I usually don't like when people do it is that bottom line of the hair looks straggly, but yours doesn't, it looks fabulous and full. Incredible job, I really enjoyed watching. And William is beyond adorable. 😍

My hair is down to my bum… or *WAS* It’s so hard to deal with parting it, and my arms weren’t long enough so I had to enlist the help of my husband. His job was trucker, not hair stylist. He only ever buzz cuts his own hair 🫣 He first went in and took 8 inches of the back, I was like 😳🤬 but by that point, it was too late to go back. He ended up taking about another 2-3 inches off the back while he was point cutting!! 😳We ended up having to go back in to do the front layers, as they weren’t noticeable enough. He is not my fav person right now. I’ve went from hair where everyone asks if it’s extensions, to needing extensions 😭 Oh well, it’s only hair!! I realise so many have to lose all their hair, so I can’t be a baby!! 💕 Yours looks amazing, so healthy and shiny, I wish I had got you to do mines instead of a burly trucker 😂

I looked into the difference between the wolf cut and butterfly cut. The wolf cut is very shaggy, but gives thin wisps at the ends. The butterfly cut when properly blow-dried creates 'butterfly wings' which flick away from the face like curtain 'bangs' (fringe - I'm British). A variation of the wolf cut: the triple unicorn, looks better on my curly unruly hair.

Thanks for sharing the video! Your hair looks GREAT! If you want more volume, put your hair in rollers by brushing hair straight up n roll. Use gel, moose or diy rosemary tea( healthy n good for hair). Of course it's not everyday but special occasions. Quick lift ,blow hair upside down and spray hair spray or gel close to roots( how far up will be up to you, try 3 inches) A+ Your hair looks GREAT😄

this is a good video, i have extremely long hair that is dead straight and out of all the videos ive watched i never see any do this cut with this long of hair and actually take a decent amount off...the reason why everyone gets so scared as if they are taking off so much hair is they are not counting on the hair that is on your scalp that is behind the ponytail once you count in that hair and then what you have left its always a decent amount of hair....

The wolf cut actually has real short layers in the face frame area and at the back of the head. Typically all around the head there should be layers for a wolf cut. A butterfly cut will mostly just give you that face framing effect and they'll be longer layers. A wolf cut would require more styling than a butterfly cut would need. Both cuts are amazing and give beautiful results.
