In case you haven't listened to her new album yet, go check it out. I think it's her best one since The Breakthrough. It's a honest album, I can see why the recording sessions were therapeutic for her.

im not from the us and when mary blew up in the 90s i was all up on backstreet boys/nsync music. but in college (2008-2013) i got into discovering soul and rnb and i started to know more about and listen to artists like mary. i've learned that what they do and what they sing about cannot be separated from what they've been through. her music is so dear to me cuz she put it all on her music and when i listen to her she gives me the strength to go thru my shit the way she did with hers. i guess this is why they call it "soul" music, cuz the songs resonate down to my very soul. i have such respect for these artists. they make the world a better place in their own way :)
