I really love this chapter in Angie Martinez's career. I like that she is bringing the faces that we know and love here to a safe space to see them in a new light and on a completely different level. But it doesn't feel invasive or like we are intruding on their privacy like a lot of celebrity/public figure interviews can be.
@jolanka-iu8we2 жыл бұрын
I couldn't agree more! She's doing an excellent job with these interviews, and to me it seems she's taken a page out of the Oprah Winfrey book with her interviewing style. A lot of evolving and growth on her part, excellent👏👏👏

So I met Usher in 1998/1999 A&T university homecoming back stage and he asked me what’s my name I said Asjadoll he said I’ll never forget it. He was humble a very down to earth guy. His mom said don’t get to close to the fans and he still offered me a hug. He’s always going to be one of my favorites. He is one of the greats . I love him much more after this interview.

I’m impressed how Angie’s interview style has changed over the years. Now it seems she has mastered the ability to meet her guests on any level without leveraging her personality. Usher seems to be in the nirvana of his awakening stage and I think that’s great for him. He still hasn’t lost his PR style of interviews but I can appreciate him being more open about his life. It’s with no doubt that Usher has paved the way for the new kids on the block but I understand his humility in being regarded as a legend. And to be honest, I’m a huge fan of a few of Usher’s albums but I think he’s still in his “music icon” stage. We’re gonna need a couple R&B albums with songs more lyrical depth to seal the legend title. His most notable songs were his R&B songs recorded in his teens & 20s. Afterwards, he dipped into the pop market and gave us the mainstream sound. After dropping a gem like Confession, it’s a requirement that he circles that back around with an R&B classic to seal the deal. We can talk about legend status afterwards.. I say this because Usher is immensely talented and there’s still a lot more he could contribute to R&B considering he has no intentions on stopping.

I see this I click like! 😊 Usher’s a great conversationalist. Angie is made for this so it’s a great team up. They both are iconic. I need awards and the public to give Angie Sway and Big Boy all their flowers. Give them a garden.

Usher Dyer has entered the building!!! I’m one of those fans that adored him since “Just Call Me a Mack” and it’s beautiful to see him HAPPY and WHOLE. This is a great interview!! 🫶🏽

If yall don't have at least 5 LaFace albums in your Spotify/Apple yall aint wit it!!! I remember when I heard Usher's ''Think of You'' and the video to match?? I was hooked!! Those were my THE BOX days (If yall know about old school THE BOX CHANNEL yall know) and his first album was fire along with the album ''My Way'' right after. Usher was my generation's Chris Brown. His music will forever be essential and legendary to us. His flowers have been grown for the giving! We love you USHER!!!

So good, Ang! He definitely did the work for his mental! I can't wait to see the documentary on the show since I haven't been able to make it and the next step he is about to take. I'm so excited for him. It's Usher baby. Self care is very important man or woman.

Yessss!!!!! Loved this interview Usher hands down is one of the kings of R&B and Pop. I want to see more movies for him, more mentoring with new artists, and songwriting too. His career has been one of the prototypes that if you choose your mom to manage you at a young age You will see greatness as an adult when they're on their own. His mom did a fantastic job! We are what 9 or 10 albums in I believe. Plus all of his collaborators. For any new R&B artists take some notes on his career.

Meditation and positive thoughts are REQUIRED to maintain a healthy mental state if being. Usher has done the work and have evolved. I am sure his mother had a hand at pushing to ger his spirit and mind in order. I am so happy for him.

This interview reminds me of his master class when he said he "said step with clarity". I think he has clarity on a lot of things right now and that has to be a peaceful feeling; really happy he was able to go to therapy and actually get something from it and apply it to his life. I've been a fan Since the beginning. 🥰🥰🥰🥰
