Something magical is happening in Vegas, and Angie made her way down there to check it out… in real life. On this week’s episode of The IRL Podcast, Usher joins us to celebrate his wildly successful Vegas residency, ATL’s impact on the culture, and his legendary status. This is a special time in his career AND his personal life, and Usher reveals how he finally found happiness.
Usher has always loved love, he was just bad at it, but he credits finally getting it right to being in the right relationship, learning to listen, and couples therapy. In this episode, he reveals a communication tip he learned that changed his life, shares his meditation routine, and dishes out lots of free treatment. It’s clear he put in all the work and feels all the benefits.
But that’s not it; he shares plans for future business with LA Reid and promises new music is on the way! This is an episode you won't want to miss……

I really love this chapter in Angie Martinez's career. I like that she is bringing the faces that we know and love here to a safe space to see them in a new light and on a completely different level. But it doesn't feel invasive or like we are intruding on their privacy like a lot of celebrity/public figure interviews can be.

So I met Usher in 1998/1999 A&T university homecoming back stage and he asked me what’s my name I said Asjadoll he said I’ll never forget it. He was humble a very down to earth guy. His mom said don’t get to close to the fans and he still offered me a hug. He’s always going to be one of my favorites. He is one of the greats . I love him much more after this interview.

I’m impressed how Angie’s interview style has changed over the years. Now it seems she has mastered the ability to meet her guests on any level without leveraging her personality. Usher seems to be in the nirvana of his awakening stage and I think that’s great for him. He still hasn’t lost his PR style of interviews but I can appreciate him being more open about his life. It’s with no doubt that Usher has paved the way for the new kids on the block but I understand his humility in being regarded as a legend. And to be honest, I’m a huge fan of a few of Usher’s albums but I think he’s still in his “music icon” stage. We’re gonna need a couple R&B albums with songs more lyrical depth to seal the legend title. His most notable songs were his R&B songs recorded in his teens & 20s. Afterwards, he dipped into the pop market and gave us the mainstream sound. After dropping a gem like Confession, it’s a requirement that he circles that back around with an R&B classic to seal the deal. We can talk about legend status afterwards.. I say this because Usher is immensely talented and there’s still a lot more he could contribute to R&B considering he has no intentions on stopping.

If yall don't have at least 5 LaFace albums in your Spotify/Apple yall aint wit it!!! I remember when I heard Usher's ''Think of You'' and the video to match?? I was hooked!! Those were my THE BOX days (If yall know about old school THE BOX CHANNEL yall know) and his first album was fire along with the album ''My Way'' right after. Usher was my generation's Chris Brown. His music will forever be essential and legendary to us. His flowers have been grown for the giving! We love you USHER!!!

This interview was so good. I was wondering if Usher is going to return doing movies, but the fact that he is at peace and is happy, makes be proud. He really is a legend because he never lost his way, he always find his way and keep elevating since. I like that he talks about therapy and how it changes him. I like that he said he is not suffering anymore and that he meditates. Not many artists are at his level and I hope he continues to surprise his with his upcoming projects or business. Angie's interviews are always the best.
