Michel, thank you. You make the shaper out to be the fun, accurate and enlightening "tool-all" that it was originally invented to be. We got to see an elegant solution to an age old problem on the smaller shaper, "Accurate Accessories: the Angle Plate." And we got to see a commensurate portion on proper tooling for the task at hand. And THAT OLD TAP!!! I'd love to see you do a bit on "Making Tools from 'Found Objects'" to help alleviate the shortage of tools one encounters when, well, when the world goes to hell in a hand basket. Anyway, thank you so very much Michel for showing us how adversity is not a reason to stop doing what you love. Cheers.

Dumb question for you Rustinox. What is the brass knob with the spring on the side of the clapper box? Does it provide return spring tension on the clapper? Joe
@Rustinox3 жыл бұрын
Indeed. It prevents the clapper from lifting by inertia on the return stroke but left it free to move.

My father regularly used the shaper for parting opperations because it left a finished face on the offcut. For some reason people will always use the piece with the rough sawn edge last. PS I hope you are feeling better.

When I worked with IT project managers I had to break them of the habit of calling projects "easy" or "simple" those two words always guaranteed that a project would be cursed. I had them use the term "straight forward" which wouldn't curse it. It sounds like you experienced similar issues.
