I did say within a car length, that's an error on my part, I should have said a car length. In the sped up section I did tell her when to stop as will the examiner on a real test but she continued a bit after I said stop.

I passed in march, and I must say, your videos have played a MASSIVE role in me learning everything needed in order to pass and so, I did, only 3 minors, Cheers ❤

I’m confused, you said stop within a car length, and then when she did you said it was to close?

Yes, too close. I see countless SUV drivers in supermarket's with skills less than our fratured driver, atyemptung to make an ompression with big car witg small skills. I wish UK peopel wouod follow less the US cukture of driving unnecessary bug vehicles for unnecrssary big waistlines in small country , whuch acrially gets smaller each day with COASTAL EROSION .soon every needs to get into small boats or start swimming 😅

He is thinking what he said was stop before you are within a cars length of the car in front, but he did not say that and said the opposite. I don't understand how he complained when he told her wrong and also told her to keep going.

The point of the angle start is to see that the student deals with oncoming traffic safely, as they will need to use oncoming traffics half of the road. That’s why you won’t ever see an examiner use a wide road where the student wouldn’t have to encroach on the other side for the angle start.

This is what did me in on my test. Not the pulling away. But the spot the examiner has specified had a wheelie bin next to it. It was a few inches back from the curb so didn't think much of it, but the top was much wider than the base and it was leaning a bit. By parking a car's width away from the car in front and a drain's width from the curb, I clipped the wing mirror on the bin. Serious fault: steering.

Why is ‘dry steering’ frowned upon? Isn’t it safer to get the correct angle of the wheels instead of starting to move before you’re properly in position??

I think using diesel engine cars are a better option for driving courses. Due to high amount of torque they held using diesel with manual transmission is much more easier.

If she stopped more than a car length from the car she would have been blocking a drive from what I could see. He perception possibly better than the instructor?...
@user-mv5zt8qd9l16 күн бұрын
When an examiner does the angled start (and occasionally during other stop & start routines), they'll specify to not worry about blocking driveways. This was probably said during the sped-up part of the video.
