All these fools saying this isn't an Anglerfish. By definition, any species belonging to the order of Lophiiformes is an Anglerfish, and this creature is indeed a Lophiiform. Lophius (Monkfish) is a type of taxonomic genus. Lophiiformes (Anglerfish) is a type of taxonomic order. Lophius is a member of the Lophiiform order. Please understand this distinction before you embarrass yourselves in the comments.

@@loganbarcelos7089 it's an angler alright a lophius, a monkfish common enough and the only species whos habitat is somewhat accessible to humans hence why they are a species of commercial significance the tail has similar taste and consistency of lobster...its just not an angler with the bioluminesant lantern and enormous eyes we typically associate with anglers those live in the Bathypelagic zones and are rarely encountered alive by humans

They are deep sea fish, so little bit harder to catch... Also I think the only edible Anglerfish is the Monkfish. You can catch them somewhere in Norway and they are available on some high-end fish markets. Tastes a lot like lobster...

You'll find videos of people who have caught monkish (like the one in this video), but that's the only species of Angler that we know of that lives in water shallow enough for humans to fish. I caught a monkish once with a whole sprat at Fenit Pier Co.Kerry, there was a time when those waters would yield almost anything and I was hoping to get skate or medium sized Conger . No fight and no life just dead weight and the steel trace is recommended. I thought I'd snagged a lump of seaweed, I had an old guy at the Pier tell me it was a monkfish and I should get a picture of it and eat the tail.....sea devils and humpback anglers and the such, the ones we typically think of when we say anglerfish typically live between Bathypelagic zones and the Abyss, you ain't reaching them without about 6km of line in your reel.
