I enjoyed this podcast. I’ve been on the struggle bus fishing these Arizona lakes. I’m glad to hear that I’m not the only one. I appreciate your insight on how to target these bass.

Love the podcast! Being an old Az native dude who has fished these lakes since 1970, I've seen some changes over the years. It was normal back in the day to catch a bass over 8 pounds on Pleasant, my personal best was a 9.7 on a small white buzz bait in December. Small lightning shad Rico or small white Rico on bomb parallel casts will get fish in the boat on a calm day, for dudes getting ready for a tourney real soon. LOL I remember Roosevelt Lake at 10% pool back in 2002. Roosevelt Lakes Dam was just risen or built up from 280' to 357' (?) back in 1996. In 2005 I think we had 5 winter months of rain and snow, and Rosey went to 80% pool roughly. I was excited to get out there and fish ( oh boy, new lake affect!), but that excitement wore off quickly. That first year after the big rains and snow, those fish scattered, fishing was tough! It was easy catching when the lake was at 10% pool, 100 fish nights by a single person around Windy Hill on the West side using a crankbait during that Summer prior. I remember all of the folks who were living up North were evacuating because of the Rodeo-Chediski fire. Fast forward and beyond, as anglers and guides over the next 10 years on Bartlett, get out there and GPS/photo every tasty bit of structure that will eventually be underwater. I wonder if the Sherrif's station will be considered a structure?

Great show!! Caught my first diaper on a drop shot at Saguaro night fishing. Barely felt the bite but weighed in at over 5lbs..

Craziest item ever caught for me would be in Nebraska trolling for fish I snagged a fishing backet with 12 crappies and one walleye in it, i must have been only 15 years old, all were still alive, it was one of those baskets with the plastic tops that floats but had a hole in it so guess it was sinking.

Great entertainment and info as usual. Wondering if they re-stock the lakes when they make them so much bigger- does anyone know?

That’s a great question. I’m sure it’s a case by case basis as it doesn’t happen often. My guess is no, they won’t re-stock. Mother Nature will probably do plenty to keep the lake full of fish

Enjoyed the show! In Utah looking to add Spoons to the arsenal. What spoon would you recommend starting with?

When you guys are talking spooning, who is the big spoon? 😂 all jokes aside, are you talking flutter spoon or jigging spoon? Thanks guys, love the podcast!

Haha! Now that you mention it my wife did look at me weird when I said I was going to Roosevelt to spoon with Rob yesterday. Jigging spoons were the focus of the convo
